Quick Start Guide
We know you’re excited about owning an ASKO dishwasher and you’re anxious to get started, so here’s a brief summary of the operation
procedures. The page references in this Guide refer to the Use and Care Guide. To get the most out of your dishwasher’s features, we
recommend that you read the Use and Care Guide.
Economy
When used with the low temperature settings, this option
further reduces energy consumption without diminishing
cleaning performance by lowering the water temperature in
the prewash and main wash and extending the wash time.
Temperature
Lets you select a high or low water temperature for the wash
programs (except Rinse). (See “Temperature Options” on
the next page.) The indicator light glows when it’s on the
high setting and remains off when set on low.
Heat Dry
Activates the heating element during the drying cycle to dry
the dishes faster.
Delayed Start
Lets you delay running the dishwasher for five hours. After making
your selections, press the Delayed Start touchpad then press
Start and close the door. The machine will start five hours later.
PROGRAM MEMORYPROGRAM MEMORY
If you select the Pans/Sani or Normal wash program, the dishwasher retains the setting until you change them. So when you turn the
machine on the next time, the indicator lights for the program and options you last used will be lit. Simply press Start and close the door. If
you want to change the settings, press the touchpad(s) for the other program or options you want to use, then press Start and close the door.
After you’ve selected the wash program and options, press Start. The indicator lights will flash rapidly, alternating from left
to right. This merely means the machine is ready. Close the door securely to start the dishwasher. (See also “Understanding
the Indicator Lights” on the next page.)

AMOUNT OF DETERGENT TO USEAMOUNT OF DETERGENT TO USE
We recommend that you use only unscented, granular automatic dishwashing detergent. Generally, one tablespoon of detergent is
needed for a normal wash load. More heavily soiled items, however, may need more detergent. Also, the amount of detergent needed
can vary due to differences in water hardness. The harder the water, the more detergent you may need. (See page 5.) In any case, you
should never use more than three tablespoons of detergent.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONSCOMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) Where do I put the prewash detergent?
2) Where do I put the rinse aid?
3) How do I know when the dishwasher is done?
4) Why do the lights flash back and forth?
5) Why do the lights flash when I open the door?
6) Why does my dishwasher run so long?
7) Why am I getting a white film on my dishes?
8) Why is there always water left in the bottom of
my machine?
ANSWERSANSWERS
1) It goes into the small compartment between the main detergent
compartment and the rinse aid dispenser. (See page 4.)
2) The rinse aid goes into the rinse aid dispenser. (See page 5.)
3) See “Understanding the Indicator Lights” above.
4) See “Understanding the Indicator Lights” above.
5) See “Understanding the Indicator Lights” above.
6) If the temperature of the water entering your dishwasher is below
120°, the dishwasher runs longer because it heats the water to the
proper temperature for the program selected. Raising your water
heater setting may help shorten the cycle times. If this doesn’t resolve
the problem, call the ASKO Advisory Center.
7) You may be using too much detergent or washing your dishes in
water that is too hot. Try using less detergent and a lower temperature
setting. (See pages 5 and 8.)
8) It’s normal to have some water left in the sump area near the drain.
If the water fills more than the drain area, see page 9 for possible
solutions.

CHANGING A PROGRAM AFTER YOU’VE STARTED THE UNITCHANGING A PROGRAM AFTER YOU’VE STARTED THE UNIT
The dishwasher is programmed to stop operating if the door is opened during a cycle. If you want to change a program or option after
you start the machine, open the door slightly to let the spray arms stop rotating and avoid getting sprayed with water. Press and hold Start
for five seconds to cancel the current selection then press the touchpad(s) for your desired selection. Press Start again and close the
door. The drain pump will run to remove any dirty water from the dishwasher before starting the newly selected cycle.
UNDERSTANDING THE INDICATOR LIGHTSUNDERSTANDING THE INDICATOR LIGHTS
When you press Start, the indicator lights will flash rapidly, alternating between the four lights on the left and the four on the right. This
merely means the unit is ready. Simply close the door securely to start the machine.
If you open the door and the lights flash, the program has not finished. Close the door and let the machine complete the program.
When the dishwasher is done, the indicator lights will come on for the last wash program and options that you used. (NOTE: The
machine will not retain the Rinse or Quick program; it will revert to the Normal wash program.)
