.DESCRIPTION AND USES .
Zinsser
®
Lock-Down is a high performance water-based
primer and conditioner that penetrates and seals vertical
concrete, masonry, and stucco. Lock-Down provides
excellent adhesion to lock down chalky and spalling
surfaces and bind paint. The advanced formula has
excellent efflorescence and alkali resistance for long
lasting protection. Ideal for sealing exterior and interior
vertical surfaces. Lock-down can be applied in
temperatures down to 35°F and tolerates high PH levels
(up to 13) for application to new concrete and masonry in
as soon as seven days. The white guide-coat aids in the
visibility of application. This coatings dries to a semi-
translucent white color.
Zinsser Lock-Down is suitable for use on concrete
(including new tilt-up structures), stucco, masonry, fiber
cement siding, concrete block, EIFS, brick, interior plaster,
drywall, joint compounds, and torn drywall facing paper.

.PRODUCT APPLICATION .
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free of any
contamination, mildew, or unsound coatings that may
interfere with adhesion. Repair cracks and surface holes
with appropriate sealant. Remove excessive chalk or any
loose paint. If needed, wash surface with a low suds
cleaning solution like ammonia or a TSP substitute. Rinse
thoroughly and allow to dry. Allow new concrete and
masonry to cure for at least 7 days before applying.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO
LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS
BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN.
PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID
EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-Approved respirator to
control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA
vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to
protect yourself and your family by contacting the National
Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to
www.epa.gov/lead.
APPLICATION
Mix thoroughly to ensure any settled pigment is re-
dispersed. Apply when air and surface temperature is
between 35°F (2ºC) and 100°F (38ºC). For brush
application, use a high quality synthetic bristle brush. For
roller application use a ⅜” to ¾” synthetic nap roller. For
spray application, follow manufacturer’s instructions for
spray equipment. For Airless spray, use 0.015-0.019” tip
at 1500-2100 psi.
TINTING
Lock-Down can be tinted with up to 2 ounces of universal
tint per gallon.
COVERAGE
Lock-Down will cover approximately 200-300 square feet
per gallon. Coverage will vary depending on application
method and surface porosity.
DRY TIME
Dry time is based on 70°F and 50% relative humidity.
Lock-Down will dry to touch in approximately 30 minutes
and can be topcoated in 1 hour. Lower temperatures or
higher humidity can prolong dry and cure time.
CLEAN-UP
Wash promptly with soap and water. Follow equipment
manufacturer instructions for cleaning spray equipment.
LIMITATIONS
Not recommended for application to floors or decks or to
surfaces subject to immersion or prolonged contact with
water. For full surface priming under wallcovering, use
Zinsser Gardz
®
Problem Surface Sealer. For maximum
hide, use Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer & Sealer.
