+ Low Impedance
Speaker impedance taps of 4, 8 and 16 ohms have been provided for direct connection of speakers to the amplifier when the
distance between the amplifier and speakers is less than 50 meters. Use 23/36 or thicker cable for connections. Be sure that
total impedance of speakers is equal to or above the impedance specified on the terminal strip.

+ 100V Line
When it is desired to connect speakers or driver units at a
distance over 50 meters, it is recommended that the 100V line
output be used together with line matching transformer for each
speaker. This prevents excessive power loss in the speaker
cables.

FULL REEL
EXPOSED TAPE
CASSETTE INSERTION
+ Hold the cassette tape in such a manner that the exposed
tape area is facing towards your right and the full reel of
tape is towards you.
+ Now insert the cassette into the cassette loading slot firmly
and push it in until it snaps into position.
+ To retrieve the cassette, push in the FF / EJECT lever fully
and the cassette will eject out.
AC MAINS OPERATION
Set all volume controls to '0' position and keep the power
switch at OFF position. Connect the speakers and required
inputs.
Plug in the AC power supply cord to the nearest AC mains
socket and put the power switch to POWER position. The pilot
LED should glow.
Adjust the volume and tone controls to the desired level in the
following manner:
1. With all the mic volume controls set at ‘0’ position, raise
MASTER volume control to 7 or 8 position.
2. The BASS and TREBLE controls should be set at ‘0’ (Flat)
position.
3. Move the volume control of MIC-1 slowly to the desired
sound level but not up to the point where howling and
feedback starts.
4. Now repeat the same for MIC-2, MIC-3 and so on.
5. When using a fourth microphone, use MIC-4 jack and
keep the MIC/TAPE selector switch at MIC position.
6. When using Aux as input use RCA jack provided at the
rear panel and keep MIC-3/AUX control at desired level.
7. Now use the MASTER control for raising or lowering the
overall volume level as desired.
8. When playing a tape, keep the MIC/TAPE switch at
TAPE position.
9. The tape can be advanced rapidly by pushing in the FF /
EJECT lever partially.
10. To stop the tape, push in the FF / EJECT lever fully so that
the cassette is ejected out.
11. Due to the Auto Stop system, the cassette is
automatically stopped when the tape comes to an end in
play mode.
12. The Bass and Treble controls should be individually set to
the desired level as explained below:
BASS: This controls the tonal quality of low frequencies
produced by musical instruments like Tabla / Drum etc., and
to some extent male human voice. When this control is
advanced towards BOOST position, it will boost i.e. increase
the intensity of the low frequencies. Similarly, when it is
lowered towards CUT position, it will cut i.e. reduce the
intensity of low frequencies.
TREBLE: This controls the tonal quality of high frequencies
produced by musical instruments like Violin, Sarangi and
Sitar etc. and to some extent female human voice. When the
control is advanced towards BOOST position, it will boost i.e.
increase the intensity of high frequencies. Similarly, when
lowered, towards CUT position, it will cut i.e. reduce the
intensity of high frequencies.

! Keep magnets and metallic objects away from the
head. If the head gets magnetized, it will lead to more
noise and loss of high frequencies. The head and all
metallic parts should be got demagnetized after about
50 hours of use.
! Consult your dealer about demagnetizing the head.
TROUBLE CHECKS
The following trouble checks will help to correct the most
common problems encountered with a cassette player.
Pilot LED does not glow when the set is switched ON.
+ AC mains plug not properly connected to AC socket.
+ Car battery connections reversed.
+ Fuse blown. Check and replace with another of the same
rating.
Hum and noise coming from speakers.
+ Poor quality of microphone or microphone cables.
+ AC mains cable running close to the input cables.
Sound quality poor on Microphone operation.
+ Improper impedance matching between microphone and
unit. Use LOW IMPEDANCE microphones.
+ In case of microphones with selectable impedances,
keep the impedance switch at LOW position.
Set gets very hot during operation
+ Proper ventilation not provided. Keep the set away from
walls in a well ventilated area.
+ Speaker mismatch causing overloading. Check the total
speaker impedance and connect to the proper tap on the
output terminal strip.
The auto stop mechanism activates and the tape stops
just after it is inserted.
+ The tape is completely wound on the right reel (refer
instructions in “Cassette Insertion”).
+ Cassette spools jammed due to deformed cassette shell.
Tape moving but no output.
+ The tape volume control is at minimum.
+ The MIC/TAPE selector switch is at MIC position.
MAINTENANCE
To get long trouble free service, maintenance is essential.
After some use the Head, Capstan, Pinch Roller etc. that
come in contact with the tape, become dirty due to dust or
magnetic material on the tape. Dirty heads cause loss of
high frequencies and the output falls. Dirty capstan and
pinch roller will cause unstable tape speed, leading to
increased Wow and Flutter.
• Precautions, Maintenance & Trouble Checks
To clean these, follow the under-mentioned procedure:
! Remove the plastic cover on the top by unscrewing the
screws provided. The head and pinch roller become
accessible through the cutout provided.
! Clean the head and pinch roller with a cotton bud
dipped in methylated spiri t / alcohol.
PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not use this unit in high ambient temperature.
2. Before the cassette tape is inserted into the cassette
slot, loose tape must be tightened up to avoid its
entangling with the pinch roller.
3. Speaker impedance mismatch may cause insufficient
output or overheating of the components, which may
lead to failure of the components. Check and make sure
that the impedance of the speakers is equal to or greater
than the selected impedance on the output terminal
strip.
4. Use of C-120 cassette is not recommended as it is
extremely thin and may cause problems.
