RULES FOR USE
1. POSITION OF ELECTRODES
For optimum results, use the recommended electrode positions. A dierent electrode must be connected to each end of
the cable.
N.B. Please note that for large electrodes with dual connections, connection can be made by connecting the lead to one of
the connections only.
It is important to select appropriately sized electrodes (small or large) and to position them correctl on the muscle group that
you wish to stimulate in order to ensure eective treatment. It is therefore appropriate to always use the electrode size shown
in the illustration. If necessary, try to nd the best position possible by moving the electrode on the muscle, until you locate
the point that produces the best contraction, or where the greatest comfort is found.
For TENS type programmes, the general rule is to cover the painful area with electrodes.
N.B. Approximate positioning of electrodes makes the session less eective, but is not dangerous.
2. BODY POSITION DURING STIMULATION
This position varies according to the muscle group that you wish to stimulate and the programme that you are using.
For programmes inducing powerful muscular contractions (tetanic contractions), it is recommended to stimulate the muscle
isometrically. You should therefore hold the extremities of limbs being stimulated.
This position opposes maximum resistance to movement and avoids any shortening of the muscle during contraction, which
would risk causing cramps. For example, when stimulating the quadriceps, you should be in a sitting position with ankles
isolated to avoid extending the knees.
For the other types of programmes which do not induce powerful muscular contractions but only muscular twitches or
tingling, position yourself as shown on the illustration, maintaining a comfortable position.

3. ADJUSTING STIMULATION INTENSITIES
On a stimulated muscle, the number of bres used depends on the stimulation intensity.
For programmes inducing powerful muscular contractions (tetanic contractions), you must use the maximum stimulation
intensities (up to 999) while remaining within your tolerance threshold, in order to use the maximum number of bres. The
progress of a muscle will be greater the higher number of bres that are worked. During a session it is therefore important to
try to increase the intensity every 3 to 5 contractions.
For other types of programmes like recovery, massage, or pain relief which only induce muscle twitches, you should gradually
increase the stimulation intensities until clearly visible muscle twitches are obtained.
For Acute tendinitis and Ankle twist programmes, you should gradually increase the intensities until you feel a tingling
sensation under the electrodes.
4. PROGRESSION OF STIMULATION CYCLES
It is recommended to start with the 1st cycle and progress to the next level when the cycle is complete, normally after 4 to 6
weeks of stimulation based on 3 sessions per week. It is also important to have reached signicant stimulation intensities in
sessions before going on to another cycle.
At the end of the cycle you can either start a new cycle or do maintenance training based on one session per week.

N.B. The MI-sensor cable can be connected to any socket on the stimulator.
3. LANGUAGE, CONTRAST AND VOLUME SELECTION

B Press the +/- button of channel 1 to select the language to be used.
C Press the +/- button of channel 2 to adjust screen contrast.
D Press the +/- button of channel 3 to adjust the volume.
E Press the +/- button of channel 4 to adjust the backlighting.
A Press the on/o button to conrm and save your selections.
Settings are immediately applied.
This options screen can then be displayed by switching the device o and by pressing and holding the on/o button for over
2 seconds.
4. CHOOSING A CATEGORY

same way regardless of the device that you have.
A Press the on/o button to switch the device o.
B Press the +/- button of channel 1 to select a category.
E Press the +/- button of channel 4 to conrm your selection.

N.B. The programme personalisation screen is not available for all

A Press the on/o button to return to the previous screen.
B Press the +/- button of channel 1 to select the muscular group that you
want to stimulate.
C Press the +/- button of channel 2 to skip the warming-up.
D Press the +/- button of channel 3 to select the stimulation cycle.
E Press the +/- button of channel 4 to conrm the selection and start the stimulation session.
N.B. If a MI-sensor cable is connected to the device, the muscle group is selected automatically.

7. LAUNCHING A PROGRAMME

N.B. If the MI-sensor cable is connected, the MI-scan test starts
immediately after the programme is selected. At the end of the test,
intensities must be increased to start the programme.
A Press the on/o button to switch the device into Pause mode.
BCDE The four channels ash, going from + to 000. The stimulation
intensity must be increased to be able to start stimulation. For this, press
the + buttons of the relevant channels until the desired setting is reached.
8. END OF A PROGRAMME

A To stop the stimulator, press the on/o button.
