Preparing for Installation:
When working on heating equipment, observe all precautions in the
literature, on tags, and on labels attached to the boiler. Follow all
safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Have a re
extinguisher available.
DO NOT power or ll the boiler with water. It is best practice to install
this kit BEFORE powering or lling the boiler.
If the boiler IS powered and/or lled with water, turn o power to the
boiler, and valve it o to isolate it from the system. Then drain the
boiler. Close the drain valve after draining.
Valve Orientation:
The valve can be oriented in any position as long as the actuator does
not go below the horizontal plane. See the orientation guide from
Belimo attached to the valve.
Installing the Valve on ELX-400 - 1000 Models:
1. Use pipe dope / tape to thread one of the 2” anges onto the
supply pipe of the boiler.
2. Install the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and washers.
3. Install the other 2” ange to the isolation valve using the supplied
bolts and ange. See Figure 1.
NOTE: A separate service valve MUST be installed for each boiler.
Do not overtighten any of the bolts as this may damage the
threads and prevent the bolts from turning. Replacement bolts are
not included in this kit.
These valves DO NOT qualify as service valves.
Installing the Valve on ELX-1500 - 2000 Models:
Install the isolation valve using the supplied bolts and washers. See
Figure 2.
NOTE: A separate service valve MUST be installed for each boiler.

Valve Wiring:
The valves are supplied with 16 feet of power cable. The power cable is
permanently connected to the valve and cannot be removed.
NOTE: Avoid excess wire length. The power cable may be cut, stripped,
and connected to reduce length. Ensure enough slack to avoid wire
damage.
