Safety Precautions
To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its
features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit, this will assure
you years of faithful, trouble free performance and listening pleasure.
Important Notes
x This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
x The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.
x Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
o Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as
electric heaters.
o On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
o Places blocking ventilation or dusty places.
o Places subject to constant vibration.
o Humid or moist places.

Some Do’s And Don’ts On the Safe Use Of Equipment
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety
standards but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the
best results and safety is to be assured.

DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and

Getting Started
Connect the unit to the power outlet, it will automatically enter the clock mode.
DAB Mode
Touch to enter the DAB mode.
Scanning for DAB Radio Stations
1. For initial use in DAB mode, your radio will now scan
for DAB stations in your area and store them in
memory. A slide bar is displayed on the LCD, indicating
the progress of the scan.
2. Once the scanning is completed, the DAB stations will
be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in
the list will be selected.
1. Autoscan
(a) To perform an Autoscan scan, press and to
select Autoscan and start scanning. A progressing slide
bar is displayed on the LCD until the autoscan finished.
Note: In DAB mode, you may press or to browse
<Autoscan>, <Add new stations>, <Autoselect> and
<Manual Tune>.
(b) Once the scanning is completed, the station name list
will be displayed in alphanumeric order.
(c) You may press
or to select your desired station,
then press
to confirm.
Note:
a. You can move back to the previous screen at any time by
pressing the button.
b. If no DAB signal is found in your area, it may be
necessary for you to relocate your radio. Alternatively, visit
http://www.ukdigitalradio.com/coverage to check that DAB
coverage is available in your area.

Add new stations.
2. Your radio will scan the DAB channels with a progressive
slide bar displayed on the LCD. Any new stations available
will be added to the station list.
3. Autoselect
1. Press and then press and to select
Autoselect.

and to select ON. Then you can explore the
found stations by pressing
or . The station will be
automatically selected when the button is released and the
name of the station will be displayed.
3. If autoselect is set to OFF when you are exploring the
stations by pressing
or , then you have to press to
switch to that station when the display shows your desired
station, otherwise it will revert back in a few seconds.
4. Manual Tune
1. Press button, and then press and to select
Manual Tune.

or to change DAB channels, the LCD will show
"5A to 13F" and their associated frequencies. When a station
group on one of the DAB channels is located, the name of the
station group will be displayed on the LCD, press

to select that station group, the first station
in that station group will be displayed on the LCD.

Changing the DAB Station Information
It is possible to change the information that is displayed on the second line of the display when
listening to a DAB station. There are five types of information available as listed below with
examples on the right.
To change the information displayed press the
button repeatedly, the display will cycle
through the follow display modes.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS):
This is scrolling text information supplied by the DAB station. It
may comprise information on music titles or details of the
program and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the DAB
station and is provided by the broadcaster.
Multiplex Name:
This will show the multiplex that is broadcasting the program
you are listening to.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the
roadcaster so will be accurate. b
Secondary Services
You may see a ">" symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that there are secondary
services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are
related to the primary station. E.g. A sports station may want to add extra commentaries. The
secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list. To select the
secondary station, press
when the ">" appears in the LCD before the station name. When the
secondary service ends, the radio will automatically switch back to the primary station.

Setting DAB/FM Station Presets
Your radio can store 5 DAB station presets and 5 FM station presets, this will enable you to get
direct access to your favourite stations.
To store the current station:
1. Touch and hold one of preset touch pad
until Preset # stored displayed on the LCD.
2. You may repeat step 1 until all 5 presets are full.
Or
Selecting a Preset DAB/FM station
1. To select a stored DAB/FM station, first enter corresponding
mode by touching
or .
2. Then touch the corresponding preset touch pad
that you have stored.
3. If the preset has not been allocated a station, Preset # empty
will be displayed on the LCD.

FM Mode
How to tune in FM Radio Stations
To listen to FM radio stations switch your radio on and touch
to enter the FM Mode.
1. Stereo detection (changing Auto type)-Auto/Off
1. Press button, and then press to select Stereo
detection.
2. In stereo detection, press to select Auto.
3. Or you may press and to select Off.
2. Tuning mode
x Freq (searching FM Radio Stations Manually)
1. Press button, and then press and to select
Tuning mode.
2. In tuning mode, press and to select Freq.
3. Press or to increase or decrease the frequency

0.05MHz per step manually until the desired frequency is
reached, then your radio will immediately tune to that station.
x Seek (searching FM Radio Stations Automatically)
1. In tuning mode, press to select Seek.
2. Press or to automatically scan up or down the
frequency band.
3. When the frequency of a strong signal station is detected,
your radio will automatically tune to that station, and stop
scanning.
4. To find the next strong signal repeat step 2. When it scans to
the end of the frequency range, it will restart searching at the
beginning.

charge your iPod if necessary. Charging will stop when the iPod is fully charged (check the
iPod screen).
Note: 1st to 3rd generation iPod cannot be charged by this unit.

2. Brightness
The backlight in normal mode has three settings (100%/50%/OFF), whereas night mode has
three settings as (25%/50%/OFF), you may adjust the setting that best suits your personal
preference.

(a) Press to select Normal mode.

(b) Select Cancel to cancel the operation.
(c) Press to Select Yes, the unit will enter DAB mode again.
All presets will be erased and the set will revert back to its
factory default settings.

Setting Alarm
