instruction manual before attempting to use your wheelchair. After reading the manual, if you still

Safety Guidelines
You will need to be familiar with the operation of your Wheelchair before using it. Please read the
following notes carefully to ensure safety at all times. Always make certain your wheelchair is in full
working order before use.
1. Before using, make sure all parts are secure
2. Do not attempt to sit in the chair unless the frame of the chair is fully open.
3. A caregiver or attendant must be present at all times while the wheelchair is in use.
4. Do not carry passengers or exceed the maximum user weight.
5. Do not leave the occupant of the chair unattended.
6. Do not maneuver the chair independently.
7. Operate the chair only on flat ground.
8. Do not stand on the footrests while transferring in or out of the chair.
9. Do not tilt or swerve the chair while it is being used on sloping ground.
10. Do not reach for items while sitting in the chair. This may cause tipping.
11. Anti tip wheels must be installed at all times when wheelchair is in use.

Operating Your Chair
Out of the Box
Your wheelchair is fully assembled out of the box. Only minor installations along with some
adjustments on moveable parts are needed once you have taken the chair out of the box.
Your dealer can help you in setting up and adjusting your new wheelchair.
Wheelchair Unfolding and Folding
To Unfold
1. Stand the chair on all four wheels.
2. Tilt the chair to one side and push down on the seat rails.
3. Once the chair is open, check to make sure the frame is fully open by firmly pushing
down on both sides of the seat rails.
To Fold
1. Lock the footrest in the front position with footplates folded up.
2. Release the backrest lock on both sides and lower the backrest.
3. Stand facing the front of the chair and pull up on the front and rear seat upholstery.
Attach Footrests
1. Hold the footrest to the side of the chair.
2. Align the two holes on the footrest hinge with the hinge pins on the chair frame.
3. With the pins aligned push the footrest towards the front of the chair.
4. Repeat these steps for the other side.
Note: There is a right and left footrest assembly.

Remove Footrests
1. Lift the footrest lock lever (1A) to unlock.
2. Swing the footrest assembly outwards.
3. Lift and remove the footrest.
Footrest Height Adjustment
1. Remove the footrest assembly from the chair. Place on
a flat surface. (See above for removal steps)
2. Loosen the footrest bolt (2A) until the 2 pieces slide
freely up and down. (Do not remove the bolt.)
3. Position the footplate at the desired height.
4. Retighten the footrest bolt.
5. Repeat these steps for the other footrest if needed.
6. Reattach the footrest assembly to the chair.
Wheel Locks
1. To lock the rear wheels, push the lever forward to
LOCK.
2. To unlock the rear wheels, pull the lever back to
UNLOCK.

Hand Brakes
Using Hand Brake
To slow the wheelchair down, slowly pull up the right and left brake handle towards the
handgrips. This will engage the brakes on the right and left sides.
Lock
Pull up the brake handle. While pulling up on the brake
handle move the brake lock clip (3A) into one of the lock
positions. The brake handle will not return to its original
unlocked position if the brake is correctly locked.
Unlock
To unlock the brake handle, pull up on the top portion of the handle. This will release the
brake lock clip.
Armrests
Height Adjustable
The armrests on your wheelchair are height
adjustable.
1. Press the black button (4A) on the
outer side of the armrest.
2. Pull up or push down to adjust height.
3. Release black button to lock.
*Make sure armrest is locked before operating
Flipback
The armrests on your wheelchair are able to be flipped back allowing the user to transfer
easily in and out of the chair.
1. At the front of the armrest locate the armrest lock release lever (4B).
2. Squeeze the lever to unlock the armrest and flip back armrest assembly.
3. To lock armrest back into main position, lower the armrest assembly and align
armrest frame into lock assembly. Test to assure armrest is locked.

Safety Notes
Read these safety notes before operating your wheelchair
1. Before using each time, make sure all parts are secure and the chair is in the full
open position.
2. Before transferring in or out of the chair:
i. Make sure the chair is on a flat surface.
ii. Engage both rear wheel locks.
iii. Check that the front casters are turned in the
forward position.
3. While transferring in or out of the chair, do not step on the footplates as this could
cause tipping.
4. Do not reach or lean without proper assistance as it could cause tipping.
5. Caution should be used when going downhill. Do not use the rear wheel locks to
stop. The caregiver should use the hand brakes to slow and stop the chair.

Maintenance
To keep your wheelchair in good working order, some simple maintenance can be done along with
the regular periodic service inspections done by your local Eclipse Medical dealer. By doing these
simple inspections, you make sure that your chair will provide you with several years of service.
1. During the first month of use, before using the chair, check all screws and nuts to see if
they need to be tightened. Then, every 3 months during normal use, check that all
screws and nuts are tight.
2. Monthly check the tires for damage and wear. If service is needed, contact your dealer.
3. If the wheelchair becomes wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.
4. Monthly wipe off the frame and all metal parts with a clean soft dry cloth.
5. Auto wax can be applied on a clean frame and other metal parts of the chair.
6. A mild soap solution can be used to clean upholstery, rinse with water and wipe dry.
7. Avoid oil or acid contact with tires to prevent deterioration.
8. Monthly check the wheel locks and rear brakes. If adjustment is needed contact your
service dealer.
9. Replace worn or torn upholstery immediately.

Warranty
LIMITED WARRANTY
The warranty period commences upon the date of purchase by the end user. If within the warranty
period, your wheelchair requires repair, as a result from a manufacturing or material defect, the
part or parts will be repaired or replaced if returned to an authorized service dealer.
This warranty is extended to the original purchaser only. Your original receipt will be
necessary as proof of purchase before any warranty performance is rendered. Without a proof of
purchase receipt date the warranty will start at the date when Eclipse Medical Inc. sent the invoice
to the dealer.
This warranty only covers failures due to defects in materials or workmanship which occur during
normal use and does not cover damage that occurs in shipment or failures which are caused by
products not supplied by Eclipse Medical Inc. or failures resulting from accident, misuse, abuse,
neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, modification, commercial use, or by anyone other
than an authorized dealer, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.
This warranty does to cover use of non-Eclipse Medical parts or changes not authorized by
Eclipse Medical Inc. Exceeding weight limit specifications will void the warranty.
This warranty does not cover non-durable components which are subject to normal wear and tear,
unless these parts are worn as a direct result of an original manufacturer defect. These parts are
upholstery, cushion, arm pads, tires, tubes, hand grips, plastic parts, brake pads and/or hubs and
similar kinds of parts.
This warranty does not include labour charges.
This warranty does not include shipping charges incurred by the purchaser when returning
defective parts for repair/replacement.
Warranty service must be performed by an authorized Eclipse Medical Inc. dealer.
This warranty applies to products purchased within Canada.
This warranty is void if the original serial number tag is removed from the product or altered in any
manner.
