#6-3092 MULCHING KIT for
SNAPPER 26” STEEL DECK WALK BEHIND MOWERS
INTRODUCTION: This kit includes two baffles, retaining hardware and a blade to mount to the deck. This kit will
convert the side discharge mower into a mulching machine. Install the kit as follows:
WARNING
DO NOT attempt any adjustments, maintenance, repairs, or service with engine running. Stop engine. Stop blade.
Remove spark plug wire and secure wire away from spark plug. Engine, muffler and surrounding areas are
extremely hot. Avoid serious burns; allow components to cool down before installing kit. DO NOT operate machine
without recycling/mulching cover, deflector or entire grass catcher installed. Replace worn or damaged parts prior
to operating. Wear heavy leather gloves when handling or working around cutting blades. Blades are extremely
sharp and can cause severe injury. Make sure that fuel cap is tightened securely. If machine leaks fuel from cap
when tilted back on the rear wheels then fuel tank must be drained of all fuel. Use approved fuel container. DO NOT
smoke near open fuel container. DO NOT fill fuel tank indoors or when engine is running. Allow engine to cool for at
least ten minutes before refilling. Wipe off any spilled fuel before starting engine.
STEP 1: Tilt mower back on its rear wheels for
access to the underside of mower deck. Place safety
blocks underneath to prevent the machine from
falling. Do not tilt mower with spark plug or
carburetor down.
IMPORTANT: All references to left or right side of
deck are viewed from operator’s position.
STEP 2: Secure front portion of baffle with bolt from
kit and swivel wheel retaining nut but do not tighten
at this time. Position the rear portion of left baffle
and mark with a center punch on deck using the
center of baffle bolt hole. Drill 3/8” hole into deck.
Install left baffle onto the left underside of mower
deck. Secure rear portion of baffle with bolt and nut
from kit. Tighten securely. See Figure 1.

STEP 3: Install right baffle onto the right underside
of mower deck. Secure the rear portion of baffle to
deck using two carriage bolts from kit and swivel
wheel retaining nuts. See Figure 2.
Secure the forward portion of right baffle to deck
with carriage bolt from kit and swivel wheel-retaining
nut. See Figure 3. Tighten all nuts securely.

STEP 4: Remove retaining cap screws, lock
washers, nuts and existing cutting blade. Install new
mulching blade using existing previously removed
nuts, lock washers and cap screws. Torque to 20 to
30 ft. lbs. See Figure 4. Save old blade for future use.
Place machine back on all wheels.
