NOTE: This guard is intended to prevent loose objects from being thrown towards the operator. The
guard also protects the operator from accidental contact with the cutting attachment.
• Check that the guard is undamaged and not cracked. Replace the guard if it has been exposed to
impact or is cracked.
• Always use the recommended guard for the cutting attachment you are using.
NOTE: Check the cutting blade for damage or cracks. A damaged cutting blade should always be
replaced.
• A non-balanced blade induces heavy vibrations that may damage the machine.
NOTE: The locking screw secures the cutting blade on the output shaft.
• Protect your hand from injury when assembling, use the blade guard as protection when
tightening with a socket spanner.
When fitting, tighten the screw in the opposite direction to the rotation of the cutting blade. To
remove it, undo the screw in the same direction as the cutting blade rotates.

Maintenance
MAINTENANCE CARE
Periodically check the edger for misalignment, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
other condition that may affect the edger operation. If damaged, have the unit repaired before use.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
All maintenance, repair and inspection work should be performed by an authorized service center.
