1．What to do if camera can’t be powered by battery?
Please follow below tips:
(1)Ensnare the battery has full power;
(2)Unplug and re-plug in the battery to camera;
(3)Keep battery plug in, and connect power adapter to help recover battery.
2．How to charge the battery?
Foscam battery camera adopt rechargeable battery, you can use the power
adapter coming with the package to plug in the USB port of camera to charge
the battery directly. When battery level reaches 100% the green status light on
camera will turn on. And you can remove the power adapter.
3．How to replace the battery for camera?
Press the button on back side of camera to pop the bottom cover of camera,pull
down to open the cover.

Take out the existing battery and input the new battery. Note point the positive
pole upwards.
Push in the battery and close the bottom cover.
4．What is the battery life for battery camera B1?
Camera is equipped with 5000mAh power that’s higher than most battery
cameras on market. How long battery will last is largely affected by below
factors:
a. length or quantity of live video viewing
b. Temperatures if below 32°F (0°C) will decrease battery life

c. Low-light environments that require IR lights which consume more power
d. Frequency of alarms and video recordings
e. Weak connection to the base station caused by distance, WiFi interference,
or solid obstructions between camera and base station
Setup and Use
1．Are the battery powered cameras weatherproof?
Foscam battery camera is IP65 waterproof, you can use it indoor or outdoor as
you need.
2．How many users can view the battery camera at the
same time?
One camera allows max 4 users to view video at same time. We suggest to
minimize live viewing time to save battery of your camera.
3．Can I power off the battery camera? How do I do so?
Camera don’t have power on/off button, you can take out of the battery directly
to power it off.
4．How to mount the battery camera?
A indoor magnetic mounting base is coming with the package for battery
camera. Confirm where the camera will be mounted, nail the screw tight, then
hung the magnetic mounting base on the screw. At last suck camera on the
base.

For outdoor mounting, will need to purchase a mounting bracket independently.
When mounting indoor, it’s suggested to keep it horizontally to monitor objects,
if it’s mounted above 2 meters please slightly tilt it down for it best to monitor
needed area.
And when mounting outdoor, slightly tilt camera down to help it void direct
sunlight to lens.
5．How to add extra camera to base station?
Preparations:
(1) Power on base station, and connect it to router by Ethernet cable
(2) Insert battery to your camera
(3) And place camera within 1-3 feet away from base station
Use Sync you can add more cameras to the base station, or re-connect camera
to base station.
Setup steps below:
(1) Press Sync button on top of base station for 3 seconds, Sync light(next to power)
will start to flash on base station.
(2) While the Sync light of base station is flashing, please press Sync button on top
of camera for 3 seconds. You’ll hear camera voice “Sync activated” and see a
green blinking light on camera.
(3) Wait for a minute for camera to be synced, and you’ll hear ”Base Station
connection succeeded”. During the procedure camera will restart, and you will
see camera indicator light turn off , it’ll be solid for 5 seconds when it’s
connected successfully.
(4) Refresh in your Foscam app, and you’ll see the newly added camera.
6．What’s the operating temperature of Foscam E1?
Operational temperature for base station is 0℃~55℃.
Operational temperature for battery camera is -20℃~50℃.

Battery life at low temperature condition will be shortened. It’s recommended
best to use camera above zero Celsius.
7．What are the indicator status on Foscam E1?
For Base Station
Green: The Base Station is connected
to an external USB Storage Device.
Blinking green: The system is
recording.
Amber: The external USB Storage
Device is full or disabled.
Off: No USB Storage Device is inserted.
Green: The Base Station is connected
to the Internet.
Amber: The Base Station is connected
to the router but no Internet connection
has been established.
Off: The Base Station is not connected
to a router.
Green: Camera(s) are connected to the
Base Station.
Blinking green: The Base Station is
attempting to sync with a camera.
Off: No camera are currently connected
to the Base Station.
Green: The Base Station is powered on.
Off: The Base Station is powered off.

8．What can I do when my battery camera fails to connect to base
station?
For new battery KIT camera, it’s plug and play. Connect base station to router, and power it on.
Plug battery into camera, then wait 1-3 minutes, your camera will automatically sync to base
station.
If camera fails to connect, please check below tips to help camera connect:
(1)Manually press sync button on camera and then base station.
(2)Check there is no other router nearby that might interference with the wireless connection.
9．What is the max distance between battery camera and base station
can be?
Max distance of camera from base station at ideal environment where there's no obstacles, is 80
meters theoretically. When camera is set to 1080P which requires more power, theoretically max
distance lowers to 40 meters.
How far will the distance will actually be is largely affected by factors like camera's resolution,
walls and obstacles, other electronic devices nearby and other WiFi signal interference and so on.
10．How loud (db) is the siren in the base? And how to turn it on or off?
Siren on base station is 100db, you can manually turn it on or off by pressing SYNC button, or
using Foscam app.
Green Slow Blinking : Sync in process..
Solid Green Then Off: Sync process completed.
Blinking Amber Rapidly: Fail to sync.
Blinking Amber Slowly Then Off: The camera's
battery level is low.
Off: Camera is on standby or the battery is depleted.

11．How to fix the issue if my camera is over exposed?
When use camera outdoor, with strong light camera image may get over exposed and displayed
two bright. Please go to base station settings, and find Power Frequency menu, here set it to
outdoor mode.
In our new firmware we've also optimized to resolve this issue. Please update your E1 to latest
via Foscam app.
12．Dose E1 support login it’s web interface or myfoscam.com?
E1 is designed to use on Foscam mobile app, and Foscam is also working on developing for it to
support myfoscam.com, so you can see it's video, control camera and playback cloud recordings
there. ETA of this function to be available is end of Aug 2018.
Alarm and Storage Recording
1．How to store video recording for Foscam battery camera?
There are two methods:
(1)Foscam E1 KIT comes with free cloud service, with one base station you can have max 4
cameras to use free cloud service of 7day history. Total cloud storage space for these cameras is
1GB. Please use your Foscam app, simply activate the cloud service and enable alarm, and your
camera will automatically save alarm recording to cloud.
(2)Another way to store the alarm recordings is to save to USB hard disk which is connected to
base station. Support formats for USB hard disk are FAT32 and NTFS.
2．What is included in the provided free cloud service of Foscam E1?
For each E1 KIT, it support 7day cloud history of 1GB for max 4 battery cameras for free.
3．What is the warranty for Foscam E1
Foscam provide 1-year limited warranty for camera and base station,and 6-month limited
warranty for accessories, such as battery.

4．How to setup alert push message for Foscam battery camera?
Go to base station Settings, then Camera Settings, choose the camera you want to setup. Tap
on Alarm Settings, here you can choose to turn on Human Detection or Activity Detection. Also
set sensitivity and schedule for the alarm.
Then go to app Settings,Push messages, find base station and turn on push message. When
camera detect an alarm it’ll then push you alert message via Foscam app.
5．How to enable cloud service for Foscam battery camera and
playback recording?
Please see below steps to enable cloud service for battery camera E1 KIT.
Step 1:Enable the cloud service for B1 camera
Please check the detailed setting steps for how to enable cloud service for B1 camera as below :
Go to ‘Settings’ of the Base Station, click ‘My Plan’, click ‘Manage Cameras’, tap the B1 camera
in the ‘inactive list’ to activate it for cloud service-activate done.

Step 2:Set up cloud service
After activate the Free Cloud service,you can enable options ‘Push Message’and ‘Motion
detection’on Foscam App.
1.How to enable the setup alert push message:
Go to base station Settings, then Camera Settings, choose the camera you want to setup. Also
set sensitivity and schedule for the alarm.

2. How to playback cloud recording once the alarm was detected by Battery camera:
(1)Open the Foscam App and navigate to Live Video. Cloud recording will show up in time line
below live video, in green bars.
(2)Tap on date and choose the recording to playback pay tap on the time line.
6．What’s supported HDD by E1 base station for storage recordings?
Base station supports HDD with FAT32 or NTFS formats, recordings saved on HDD is .mp4
formats. No limitation on storage capacity of the HDD.
7．How to set saving alarm recordings to USB hard disk?
(1).Firstly, please install an USB hard disk to the E1 base station.
(2).Then if the battery camera alarms, the camera will save alarm recordings to the USB hard
disk automatically.
(3).You can connect this USB hard disk to your PC and check all the alarm recordings in it.
Currently, the supported formats for USB hard disk are FAT32 and NTFS.

8．How to playback the recordings saved on HDD (for E1)?
Currently it only support check and playback recording on computer, you’ll need to plug HDD to
computer to playback save recordings.
9．How can I turn off human detection or activity detection alarm of
battery camera?
To improve our camera and app to be more user friendly, we'll add schedule function to allow you
set up when to turn on and off motion alarm recording. EAT of this feature to be supported is at
Aug 2018.
10．Can battery camera record continuously if there’s continuous
alarms?
Currently camera can only records 10-10 seconds,this is because camera will go to sleep mode
each time after detected a motion, and wake up again when next motion is detected.
Camera is designed to work this way for the purpose of saving battery power, as more often we
wake up camera to detect alarm, recording and watch video, the faster battery drains.
To ensure you won't miss any important movements,Foscam is now developing to supporting
setup recording time length, it'll be available ETA Aug 2018.
11．My camera is too sensitive which sends many alerts, what can I do
to fix it?
Camera supports two type of alarm, human detection and activity detection.
Human detection is a set of intelligent algorithm, after detect alarm it'll calculate if the motion is
human being to decide whether to push you an alert. Please switch camera to human
detection,this way, it’ll help reduce false alarm greatly.
Human detection is not yet 100% accurate when it calculating if the motion is a human. Foscam
is keep working on gradually improve this technology, also as time goes by it'll study the
background of your scene and become more and more accurate.
