GENERAL INFORMATION
This optional Safety Guard is designed to reduce the risk of burn
injury associated with incidental contact with the glass front of the IHP
and Superior Gas Fireplaces listed in Table 1 on Page 2, when it is
installed and used in accordance with both these instructions and the
warnings, precautions, and instructions included in the INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS AND CARE AND OPERATION manuals provided with
your appliance.
NOTE: Improper or repeated installation and removal of the
optional Safety Guard could scratch, dent, or otherwise deface
the metal frame surrounding the glass front of the appliance.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR STANDARD SAFETY GUARD KIT
FOR USE ON IHP GAS FIREPLACE MODELS LISTED IN TABLE 1
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. If the fireplace is on, turn it OFF. Allow it to cool completely.
BEFORE CONTINUING, FIREPLACE MUST BE OFF AND COLD!
Step 2. See Figure 1. Remove the fireplace top panel (if applicable).
Step 3. See Figure 1. Open the fireplace lower access panel, and then
release the two glass panel lower clamps.
Step 4. See Figure 2. Hook the Safety Guard top flange over the glass
panel top flange.
Step 5. Firmly insert the Safety Guard bottom flange into the glass
panel bottom flange.
Step 6. See Figure 3. Reclamp the two lower clamps, making sure
to capture the lower flanges of both the Safety Guard and the
glass panel.
Step 7. See Figure 1. Close the fireplace lower access panel. Replace
the top panel, if applicable.
