1. Remove necessary high pressure fuel lines. DO
NOT BEND ANY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE
TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE FUEL INJECTOR.
Cover or cap any open fuel connections.
2. Remove the valve cover.
3. Thread the fuel injector connector tube remover
onto the end of the injector connector tube. Pull
the tube from the cylinder head. See Figure 1.
Caution: Remove the injector connector tube
before attempting to remove the fuel injector.
Failure to perform this step could damage the fuel
injector and tube.
4. Remove the hold down clamp bolt at the front end
of the clamp. DO NOT LOOSEN OR REMOVE
THE SHOULDER BOLT AT THE REAR END OF
THE CLAMP. Remove the injector clamp by sliding
it away from the shoulder of the rear clamp bolt.
See Figure 2.
5. Thread the puller rod into the top of the fuel injector.
See Figure 3.
6. Tighten the puller nut to remove the fuel injector
from the cylinder head.
CAUTION: To prevent
personal injury, wear eye
protection that meets ANSI
Z87.1 and OSHA standards.
