Start by positioning the speakers
according to the labels on the rear
panel .
You can also set the speakers in
[All Front] position . For further
details, visit:

Next, connect the speakers to the
main unit and surround amplifier.
Refer to the supplied “Speaker
Installation Guide” for assembling
the speakers.

To enjoy high-quality video and
audio, connect via a High Speed
HDMI cable (not supplied) and
an optical digital cord (not
supplied).
However, if your TV has an HDMI
ARC (Audio Return Channel) jack,
you do not need an optical digital
cord (not supplied).

To connect your set-top box,
game console, or digital satellite
receiver, simply connect with an
HDMI cable (not supplied).
For FM radio, connect the
supplied FM wire antenna (aerial)
and extend it for the best
reception.

and home network via a wireless
LAN or LAN cable (not
supplied).
Network settings can be found in
the home menu (page 13).

Connect the AC power cords
(mains leads) of the main unit
and surround amplifier to a wall
outlet (mains).

Connect the calibration mic and
place where you would normally
sit.
This will be used to optimize the
speakers in the next section to
give you the best possible
surround sound experience. The
mic can be fully removed once
this process is complete.

Press / to turn the system on.
“SETUP” appears in the top panel
display.
To ready the system for use, go
through the on-screen Easy Initial
Settings using the supplied
remote. This should only take a
few minutes.
If the setup screen is not
displayed, select the correct AV
input in your TV.
Once [Easy Initial Settings are
complete.] appears on the screen,
select [Finish] and the system is
ready to use.

To play a disc, press to open the
disc lid, snap the disc (with the
label facing upwards) onto the
spindle, then press to close the
disc lid.
If playback does not start
automatically, select
in the
[Video], [Music], or [Photo]
category, and press .

N-Mark on the main unit (for

2 Press and hold TUNING +/–
until auto scanning starts.
3 Press OPTIONS.

Memory], then press .

number you want, then press

6 Repeat Steps 2 to 5 to store
other stations.

until “FM” appears in the top

select the preset station.

Troubleshooting
If you experience any of the following difficulties while using the
system, use this troubleshooting guide to help remedy the
problem before requesting repairs.

The power does not turn on.
Check that the AC power cord (mains lead) is securely
connected to the wall outlet (mains).
The system does not work normally.
Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from the wall
outlet (mains), then reconnect after several minutes.
The system does not output sound of the TV program when
connected to a set-top box.
Check the connections.
Select the correct input of the system to which the set-top
box is connected.
There is no sound or wireless transmission is not activated.
Check the status of the LINK/STANDBY indicator on the
surround amplifier.

Turns off.
ē
Check that the AC power cord (mains lead) of the
surround amplifier is connected securely.
ē
Turn the surround amplifier on by pressing / on the
surround amplifier.
ˎ
Flashes red.
ē
Press / to turn off the surround amplifier, and check
the following items.
Are the + and – speaker cords short-circuited?
Is anything blocking the ventilation opening of the
surround amplifier?
After checking the above items and fixing any problems,
turn on the surround amplifier. If the cause of the
problem cannot be found even after checking all the
above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
ˎ
Flashes green or orange slowly or turns red.
ē
Sound transmission is poor. Move the surround amplifier
so that the LINK/STANDBY indicator turns green or
orange.
ē
Move the system away from other wireless devices.
ē
Avoid using any other wireless devices.
ˎ
Turns green or orange.
ē
Check the speaker connections.
There is no sound from surround speakers.
Press OPTIONS and check that [Sound Field] is set to
[ClearAudio+].
A disc does not play.
The region code of the disc does not match the system.
Moisture has condensed on the lenses inside the main unit.
Remove the disc and leave the main unit turned on for about
half an hour.
The disc is not correctly finalized.
Reducing power usage to less than 0.3 W in
Standby Mode
Press HOME, and then press /// to select [Setup]. Check
that the following settings are made:

Select [System Settings] > [HDMI Settings] > [Control for HDMI],
then set [Control for HDMI] to [Off].
ˎ
Select [System Settings] > [Quick Start Mode], then set [Quick
Start Mode] to [Off].
ˎ
Select [System Settings] > [NFC], then set [NFC] to [Off].
ˎ
Select [Network Settings] > [Remote Start], then set [Remote
Start] to [Off].

Easy Control app, “SongPal”, supports wireless operation. It allows you to:
