DO NOT apply the device to extreme force, shock, high temperature,
water, AC power or severe weather conditions.
2. DO NOT attempt to dismantle the device’s internal components.
There are no serviceable parts inside.

PLACING THE SENSOR
Finding a suitable location to mount the OUTDOOR SENSOR improves the accuracy
of readings and the reliability and durability of the device. The ideal location would be
on the north side of a building (south side in the southern hemisphere).
1. Remove the SENSOR TIP from the SENSOR and place by using the double-
stick ADHESIVE PAD, or by screwing the SENSOR TIP to the chosen location.
Important: Make sure it's within reach of the SENSOR WIRE.
2. Reinsert the SENSOR into the SENSOR TIP after placement.

Note: When choosing a location for the OUTDOOR SENSOR, take into
consideration the objects nearby. Objects that heat up in direct sunlight or
produce radiative cooling effects may affect temperature readings by changing
the air temperature around the sensor. See the tips below for proper placement.
Place the OUTDOOR SENSOR in a location where it will not be in direct
sunlight and where it will have limited exposure to reflected sunlight.
Place the OUTDOOR SENSOR at least 5 feet from man-made sources
of heat.
Place the OUTDOOR SENSOR in a location at least 10 feet from lights
and exhaust fans.
Keep the OUTDOOR SENSOR and the cable at least 10 feet from
110V AC or 60Hz utility power.
Do not run the OUTDOOR SENSOR cable parallel to house wiring.
Mount the OUTDOOR SENSOR at least 30 feet from high-voltage
power lines and transformers.
CHOOSING IN/OUT TEMP MEASUREMENTS
Press the IN•OUT button. When the IN icon appears on the screen, it indicates
the indoor temperature is being displayed. When the OUT icon appears, it indicates
the outdoor temperature is being displayed.
Press the IN•OUT button to toggle between locations.
Note: When testing temperatures lower than -58°F, “LL.L” will appear on the
temperature display area; when testing temperatures higher than 230°F, “HH.H
will be displayed.
As there is no humidity sensor for outdoor mode, the indoor humidity will
continue to appear on the humidity display area of the lower half of the screen
in outdoor mode.
7
TEMP/HUMIDITY ALERT PRE-SETTINGS
Alerts will tell you when the temperature or humidity is above or below a set
number. To view the alert pre-settings, press and release the ALERT button.
The IN or OUT icon will flash on the display to indicate which pre-setting is showing.
The pre-setting will be presented in the following order:
Indoor High Temperature > Indoor Low Temperature > Indoor High Humidity >
Indoor Low Humidity > Outdoor High Temperature > Outdoor Low Temperature >
and then it reverts back to the normal test mode.

while the unit is currently in alert mode (icon ((•)) is visible in the upper left
of the LCD display).
5. When alert mode is active and alert temperature and humidity are achieved,
an audible alert (beep) will sound. Press any button to deactivate.
Notes:
The default pre-setting (after batteries are installed) of the low temperature
is -58°F, and the high setting is 230°F.
The user setting(s), according to above indications, will be saved until the
next battery re-installation or the RESET button is pressed.
The ((•)) icon can be set for each specific measurement (e.g., outside high
temperature). The ((•)) icon must be on for your setting to sound an alert.

OTHER ICONS
Normally, when temperature is within 32°F~140°F and the relative humidity is
20% RH~99% RH, the measurements will be displayed. If any temperature
is out of this range, other icons listed below will be shown:
1. “--%”: If the humidity area of the display shows “--% (IN)”, it means the measured
temperature is lower than 32°F or higher than 140°F, or the measured humidity
is out of the defined measuring range or lower than 1% RH. When the ambient
conditions resume normal operation range, the humidity area of the display will
show the correct humidity accordingly. Relative humidity measurement will be
affected by temperature.
2. “HH.H(IN)” or “HH.H(OUT)”: When the measured temperature is higher
than 230°F, these icons will appear in the temperature display area.
3. “LL.L(IN)” or “LL.L(OUT)”: When the measured temperature is lower
than -58°F, these icons will appear in the temperature display area.
4. “--.-(out)”: This icon will appear in the temperature display area if the sensor
cable is not well connected while measuring the outdoor temperature.
RESET
If the device malfunctions or you want to clear all settings, use a thin, blunt
object to press the RESET button inside the BATTERY COMPARTMENT.
Pressing RESET will revert the unit to its original default settings plus
clear any alerts set.
