Before using for the first time
Charging
IMPORTANT: USE ONLY THE CHARGER SUPPLIED.
fig. 1 The V-031 is operated by rechargeable lead-acid batteries. Before using the appliance for the first time, the
batteries have to be charged for at least 16 hours. Place the appliance into the charging unit.
NOTE: Do not forget to set the on/off switch (B) to the ‘off’ position before charging begins.

and that charging has begun. Replace the appliance into the charging unit when not in use, so it is always fully
charged.

How to use your V-031
To turn the appliance on and off

To turn the appliance off, slide the on/off switch into the off position.
Battery charge status
The four green LEDs (A) indicate the remaining battery charge. If all four LEDs light up, the batteries are fully charged.
The fewer LED indicators that light up, the lower the remaining battery charge. If only one LED lights up, the battery
charge is low and the appliance should be re-charged. The batteries can be re-charged 300-350 times.
Battery disposal
This product contains lead-acid batteries, which must be disposed of properly. For disposal information, please
call the VAX Care helpline on 0870 6061248.

Dust container and filter
IMPORTANT: ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE DUST FILTER (A) IS INSTALLED BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE.

after every use. To open the front nozzle, press the release button (B) and remove the dust container.
Take out the filter (A) and empty the dust container. Rinse the filter in cold water; once completely dry,
replace the filter into the dust container and re-attach the front nozzle.

Do not charge this appliance outdoors.
Use the appliance on dry surfaces only.
Not to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near or by children.
Use the appliance and chrging unit only as described in this user guide.
Use only the mains adapter and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not use the charger with a damaged mains cable or plug.
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped in water.
Never carry the mains adapter by the mains cable.
Do not pull on the cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always use the plug.

blocked. Keep them free of dust, fluff, hair or any other material that might cause a restriction in air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and other parts of the body away from moving parts.
Do not pick up burning or smoking objects such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
Do not change accessories while the appliance is operating.
Do not use to pick up flammable or combustable liquids such as petrol, or use in areas where they may be present.
Do not use the mains adapter with an extension cable. Always connect the mains adapter directly to an electrical socket.
Use the appliance only with the mains voltage indicated.
Do not use without the dust canister and filter in place.
Always store the appliance indoors. To avoid accidents, put the appliance away safely after use.
Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If this liquid comes into contact with the skin or eyes, flush
the affected area immediately with clean water and seek medical advice.
Use the appliance on dry surfaces only.
If your VAX fails to operate, never attempt to repair it yourself, as repairs carried out by an unauthorised or inexperienced
