Muntersdehumidiersareintendedtobeusedforthe
dehumidicationofair.Anyotheruseoftheunit,or
usewhichiscontrarytotheinstructionsgiveninthis
manual,cancausepersonalinjuryanddamagetotheunit
andotherproperty.
Nomodicationoftheunitisallowedwithoutprior
approvalbyMunters.Attachmentorinstallation
ofadditionaldevicesisonlyallowedafterwritten
agreementbyMunters.
Warranty
Thewarrantyperiodisvalidfromthedatetheunit
leftourfactory,unlessotherwisestatedinwriting.
Thewarrantyislimitedtoafreeexchangeofpartsor

andusethedehumidierinasafeandefcientway.Readthroughthemanualbeforethedehumidieris
installedandused.
ContactyournearestMuntersofceifyouhaveanyquestionsregardingtheinstallationortheuseofyour
dehumidier.
Thismanualmustbestoredinapermanentlocationclosetothedehumidier.

Thedehumidierisnotintendedforoutdoorinstallation.

notbedrawnintothedehumidier.Theycandamagetherotor.
-Neverusethedehumidierwithoutthelterinstalledasthiscancausedamagetoit.Ensurethatthelterisclean.
Aclutteredltercancausethedehumidiertooverheat.
-Allchangesaffectingtheventilationorthepressurebalanceinthebuildingcanresultinachangedconcentration
ofradon.Iftheunitisplacedinabuildingwithradon,itisnecessarytocontactanexperttosecurethebestoverall
solution.
-Donotunplugthedehumidierwhileitiscoolingdown.Unpluggingitcanleadtopermanentunitdamage.
-Onlyquickstopthedehumidierincaseofemergency.Thefanstopsandtheheatercanbeveryhot,whichcan

2Functiondescription
Thedesiccantrotoristheadsorptiondehumidifyingcomponentintheunit.Therotorstructureis
comprisedofalargenumberofsmallairchannels.
Thedesiccantrotorismadeofacompositematerialthatishighlyeffectiveinattractingandretainingwater
vapour.Therotorisdividedintwozones.Theairowtobedehumidied,processair,passesthroughthe
largestzoneoftherotorandthenleavestherotorasdryair.Sincetherotorrotatesslowly,theincomingair
alwaysmeetsadryzoneontherotor,thuscreatingacontinuousdehumidicationprocess.
Theairowthatisusedtodrytherotor,reactivationair,isheated.Thereactivationairpassesthrough
therotorintheoppositedirectiontotheprocessairandleavestherotoraswetair(warm,moistair).This
principleenablesthedehumidiertoworkeffectively,evenatfreezingtemperatures.
TypeYusesoneinletairowforprocessairandforreactivationoftherotor.

Inspectthedeliveryandcomparewiththedeliverynote,orderconrmationorotherdelivery

ContactMuntersimmediatelyifthedeliveryisnotcompleteordamagedinordertoavoidinstallation
delays.
Removeallpackagingmaterialfromtheunit,andmakesurethatnodamagehasoccurredduring
transportation.
AnyvisibledamagemustbereportedinwritingtoMunterswithin3daysandpriortoinstallationof
theunit.
Disposeofthepackagingmaterialaccordingtolocalregulations.

Thedehumidierisplacedinthespacetobedehumidied.Thewetairistransportedoutdoorswithducting.
FortypeYtheprocessandreactivationairistakenfromthespacetobedehumidied.FortypeXthe
reactivationairistakenfromtheoutside,seeguresbelow.Toensurethatthedryairisdistributedevenlyin
thespacetobedehumidiedaductingcanbeconnectedtothedryairoutletofthedehumidier.
Aclosedsystemispreferablewhenthereisaneedfordehumidicationtoaverydryclimate.Itismore
economicaltoruncomparedtoanopensystem.

spacetobedehumidiedandthewetairisdischargedinthevicinityoftheunitormovedoutdoors,see

-Whenmoisturedamagedobjectsaretobedehumidied.
-Dustorcorrosioncausingparticlesarepresentinaspacewheredryairwillbesupplied.

Thedehumidierisonlyintendedforindoorinstallation.Avoidinstallingthedehumidierinadamp
environmentwherethereisariskofwaterenteringtheunitorinaverydustyenvironment.Ifindoubt,
seekadvicefromMunters.Itisimportantthattheintendedinstallationsitemeetsthelocationandspace
requirementsfortheequipmentinordertoachievethebestpossibleperformanceandtrouble-free
operation.Forspacerequirements,seesection8.1,Dimensionsandservicespace.
Ifthedehumidierisintendedtobeplacedonabracketwerecommendourspeciallydesignedwallbracket.
Alwaysleaveminimum10cmspacebetweentheunitandthewall.

Wheninstallingductworkbetweenthedehumidierandtheinletandoutletconnections,thefollowing
recommendationsshouldbeobserved:
Ductlengthmustbekeptasshortaspossibletominimisestaticpressureloss.
Allductandhoseconnectionsmustbeairtightandvapourtighttoensurefullperformance.
Theductingmustalwaysbeinsulatedwhenthereisariskoffreezing.
Thetotalresistanceintheductworkmustnotexceedtheperformanceratingofthefansttedinthe
dehumidier.
NOTE!Maximumlengthofdryairhoseis25metres.
NOTE!Maximumlengthofwetairhoseis6metres.
4.5.1Ductworkforoutdoorairinlet
Whenbringingoutsideambientairintothedehumidier,theopeningtotheinletductshouldbelocated
sufcientlyhighabovegroundleveltopreventthepickupofdustanddebris.Theductingshouldbe
designedtopreventrainandsnowfrombeingdrawnintothedehumidier.Theairinletmustbelocated
awayfrompossiblecontaminantssuchasengineexhaustgases,steamandharmfulvapours.
Fastenwirenettingwithameshwidthofapproximately10mmintheouterendoftheduct.
4.5.2Ductworkforwetairoutlet
Wetairductingmustbeincorrosion-resistantmaterialandmustbecapableofwithstandingtemperatures
upto80°C.
Thewetairductingmustalwaysbeinsulatedifthereisariskoffreezing.Thewetairleavingthedehumidier
willeasilycausecondensationontheinsideoftheductwallsduetothehighmoisturecontent.
NOTE!Horizontalductsmustbeinstalledwithaslightdecline(awayfromthedehumidier)todrainpossible
condensation.Thedeclinemustbeatleast2cm/metreofduct.Drainageholes(5mm)shouldbemadeatlow
pointsoftheducttopreventwateraccumulationwhichcandamagethemachine.
Fastenwirenettingwithameshwidthofapproximately10mmintheouterendoftheduct.
Wetairhosesareusuallyguidedoutdoors.Inlargepremiseswherethedehumidierisoutsideofthespace
tobedehumidied,thewetairmustbeductedawayfromtheunitwithahoseofminimumlength2metres.
Makesurethatthewetairisnotsuckedbackintotheunitandthatthewetairdoesnotblowagainstmoisture
sensitiveobjects.

5.2.1Operatorpanel
Whentheinstallationisnished,connectthedehumidiertomainspowerandsettheON/OFFswitch
toON.
TheMC150dehumidierserieshasaneasilyunderstooduserinterfacewithadisplayandvebuttons.
Therightandleftbuttonsontherespectivesidesofthedisplayareonlyusedtonavigatethemainmenu.
Nochangestothesetupcanbemadewiththesebuttons.
Thethreesmallerbuttonsbelowthedisplayareusedforselectionandediting.Theirrespective
functionsarealwayspresentedintextatthebottomofthescreen.Inthemainmenu,theleftofthese
buttonsisnamedHomeandpressingthisbuttonwillimmediatelyleadbacktothedefaultview .Inmany
oftheviewsthereisanInfobuttonwhichpresentsinformationthatcanbeofusetotheinexperienced
user.
Ifthebacklightofthedisplayhastimedout,pressinganybuttonservesonlytolightupthedisplay.
IfselectedunderSetupandMaintenance,thekeypadlockwillautomaticallyswitchon10minutesafterthe
lastpressofabutton.Thedehumidieristhenunlockedbysimultaneouslypressingthetwoupperbuttons
asispresentedingraphicsonthescreen.

dehumidier,theinternalRHTsensoror,fortheexternalcontrolmodes,theexternalRHTsensor.
10.Setpointadjustment
Indicatesthattheouterbuttonsbelowthedisplayareinthiscaseusedtoincreaseanddecreasethe
setpoint,highlightedwithblackbackground.

Fromthedefaultview,navigatethemainmenuusingtherightandleftarrows.
Startupview
Whenthedehumidierstartsup,thedisplaypresentsthe
userwithtwooptions:
Start:Startsthedehumidierwithdefaultsettings.
Resume:Thedehumidierresumesoperationwiththe
settingsithadlasttimeitwasused.
Iftheuserneverpressedstopbeforethepowerwascutthe
lasttimeitwasused,thedehumidierwillautomatically
resumeoperationwhenthecountdownhasreachedzero.
PressingthePausebuttonwillstopthecountdownandthe
dehumidierwillremaininstandbyuntilmanuallystarted.

presentstheuserwiththepossibilityofselectingthe
setpoint.
Whenthesetpointlevelisreached,thedryingautomatically
stops.Ifthehumiditylateronrisesabovethesetpointlevel,
thedryingoperationisautomaticallyresumed.
Hysteresis
WhenselectingRH,DEWorMIXcontrolmodes,thereis
asymbolandahysteresisvaluepresentedtotherightinthe
display.
Thesymbolindicatesthepositionofthesetpointinthe
operationspanaspresentedbelow .

Alarm
WhenselectingacontrolmodeotherthanMan(Manual),
theusercanchoosetodeneahumiditylevelthat,if
reached,shalltriggeranalarm.
Thealarmissetwithreferencetothehumiditylevelat
whichthedehumidierstartsdrying.Toassisttheuserthe
absolutelevelatwhichthealarmwilltriggerispresented
withinparenthesesatthebottomrightofthescreen.
Thisalarmisavailableformonitoringalsothroughthe
DigitalGateway.
FanMode
TheFanmodedetermineswhetherthefaninthe
dehumidiershalloperatecontinuouslyorifitshalloperate
onlywhendryingisrequiredandongoing.
Ifcontinuousfanisselected,thewordCONTispresented
inthelowerrightcornerofthedefaultscreen.
Ifpossible,foroptimaldryingeffect,usecontinuousfanto
keeptheairinconstantmotion.
ThereisalsoanIntermittent(Int)fanmode,wherethe
fanstartsonceeveryhourtoletthebuilt-insensormore
accuratelysensetheconditionoftheincomingprocessair.

Timer
Thedehumidierhasbuilt-intimerfunctionalityallowing
theusertodeterminewhenthedehumidiershalloperate.
WhentheTimerfunctionisused,thewordTimeris
presentedinthetoprightcornerofthedefaultviewascan
beseentotheright.
ToactivateTimer,presstherightarrowbuttonfourtimes
toentertheTimermenu.PressActivate.
Whenthetimerisactivated,thedehumidierasksthe
usertoverifythatitstimeanddatesettingsarecorrect.If
so,pressOK.Ifchangesarerequired,pressedittodothe
requiredchangesbeforecontinuing.
Inthenextstep,theuserisallowedtosetthetimeinterval
withinwhichthedehumidiershalloperate.
