DVBt “Free view” Quickstart Guide
Dear Customer. Thankyou for purchasing this state
of the art DVBt Set Top Box. With care and
consideration it will give you many hours of trouble
free viewing.
Unpacking Remove the Set Top Box from its
packaging and place on a firm surface. Please retain
all packaging in the unlikely event that the product
becomes faulty.
Connection. Connect an aerial to the point (1) on
the rear of the STB, and if you still require an aerial
signal to some other apparatus, there is a RF loop
through output at point (2).
You will need a RF
(VCR) cable (not
supplied) to connect to
other apparatus
Scart Connection.
To connect the STB to the Tv you will need a Scart
lead (supplied). Place the Plug into the Socket (5) on
the STB and a free socket on your Tv. If you have no
free socket on the Tv remove the input from whatever
is connected to SCART 1 on the Tv and connect the
STB to this connection.
Should you need to connect a VCR or DVD recorder
please use the VCR Scart socket (4) as shown below :-
Remote Control.
Insert the batteries as shown below into the Remote
Control.
Getting Started
Now you are ready to connect the mains supply. Plug in
the 3 pin UK plug to a suitable 240VAC supply and switch
on. A Red LED will display. (2)
Turn on your Tv and wait for
a picture to show. Press the
Standby button (1) and after
2 seconds the led will turn
Green.
Normally the Tv will auto-
matically switch to the Scart input and display the
AKURA LOGO. If the Tv does not display the AKURA
logo press the AV button on the Tv to select the Scart
Input.
First Time Operation. As your STB has no channels
tuned you must now do this. Your STB will display this
picture
Select the screen shape you have, either 4:3 or 16:9
using the < > buttons and press Ok. The STB will now
display another box.
Select
Confirm
The STB will now commence to search for all the
stations in your area.
When completed the STB will display the first Tv
station on the list (BBC1)
Note : DVBt stations MUST have a good signal. In
most cases a Set top aerial will NOT be suitable.
