Intended Use

This appliance is intended for the boiling-up of wa-

ter in domestic households. It is not intended for use

with other liquids or for commercial use. This ap-

pliance is intended exclusively for use in domestic

households. Do not use the appliance for commer-

cial purposes!

 In older electrical installations, the building fuse

(12 A) may be triggered due to the high power

consumption.

Safety instructions

 To avoid potentially fatal injury

through electric shock:

• Ensure that the base with the electrical connec-

tions does not come into contact with water! En-

sure that the base is completely dry before use,

especially if it has accidentally become wet.

• Only use the water boiler with the supplied

base.

• Make sure that the power cord never becomes

wet or damp during operation. Lay the cord such

that it cannot be pinched or otherwise damaged.

• Arrange for defective power plugs and/or ca-

bles to be replaced at once by qualified techni-

cians or our Customer Service Department.

• Always pull the plug out of the power socket

after use. Switching off the appliance is not suffi-

cient because the appliance receives power as

long as the power plug is connected to the sok-

ket.

 To avoid burns and other injuries:

• Always heat water with the lid closed, otherwise

the automatic cut-out may not function.

Boiling water can then spray out over the edge.

• Hot steam clouds may be released.

The kettle also becomes very hot during use.

Wear oven mitts.

• Ensure that the appliance is standing securely

and vertically before switching it on.

Boiling water can cause an unstabile kettle to fall

over.

• This appliance is not intended for use by indivi-

duals (including children) with restricted physical,

physiological or intellectual abilities or deficien-

ces in experience and/or knowledge unless they

are supervised by a person responsible for their

safety or receive from this person instruction in

how the applianice is to be used.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the appliance.

• Do not use an external timing switch or a separa-

te remote control system to operate the appliance.

Start-up

• Before taking the appliance into use, ensure that...

– the appliance, the plug and the power cable are

in good working order and...

– all packaging materials have been removed

from the appliance.

• Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX

mark and let it come to a full boil once – as des-

cribed in the next section.

• Pour this water away when the procedure has

been completed.

• Rinse the kettle out with clear water.

• Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX mar-

king on the scale 7 and then bring it to the boil.

Once again, pour this water away.

The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling water

 Danger!

Never place the electrical base 4 in close proxi-

mity to water – a potentially fatal risk!

Notice:

Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume

any water that has already stood in the water boiler

for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that

has cooled down. Always pour old water away.

Microbes could have formed in it!

• Lift the kettle off of the base when filling it!

• Press the unlocking button 2 and open the lid

• Hold the kettle upright while filling it.

Only in this way can you correctly read the mar-

kings on the scale 7.

Fill the kettle...

– at least to the MIN mark, so that the appliance

does not overheat,

– no higher than the MAX mark, so that no boiling

water spills out.

• First close the lid 1...

• then place the kettle on the base 4 so that it

stands straight on the base 4.

• Now insert the plug into the power socket.

• Press the ON/OFF switch 3 down until it enga-

ges downwards.

• The control lamps 6 indicates that the applian-

ce is now heating up.

• The appliance switches itself off and the control

lamps 6 go out as soon as the water is on the

boil. The ON/OFF switch 3 is released up-

wards.

 Warning!

First remove the plug from the wall power socket be-

fore you lift the kettle from the base 4. This avoids

the risk that any water splashing out could come

into contact with live electrical connections in the

base 4, which could cause a short circuit.

 Injury hazard!

For safety reasons, the lid 1 should not be opened

while the water is boiling or is very hot. There is a

risk of receiving severe scalds.

Cleaning and Care

 Danger!

Do not open any part of the housing. There are no

operating elements inside. An open housing can

create the risk of a life-threatening electrical shock.

Never submerse any parts of the appliance in

water or other liquids! This can create the risk

of a life-threatening electrical shock if residual

liquid comes into contact with powered com-

ponents.

Before cleaning the appliance, ...

• first, remove the plug from the power socket and

allow the appliance to cool down completely.

• Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable

with a slighly damp cloth. Be sure to dry the ap-

pliance well before taking it back into use.

• For stainless steel surfaces, you can use appro-

priate cleaning agents from a specialized dea-

ler.

• Never use any cleansers, abbrasive substances

or solvents. These can damage the appliance.

In the event of scale deposits

• Before descaling, remove the pourer sieve 8

(see chapter "Removing/replacing the pourer

sieve").

• Take any decalcifying agent used for kitchen

utensils (e.g. decalcifiers for coffee machines)

from a grocery shop. Proceed as detailed in the

instructions provided for the use of the decalc-

fying agent.

Removing/replacing the pouring sieve

• Open the lid 1.

• Press from the front against the upper lug sitting

in the middle of the pouring sieve 8 and at the

same time hold it firmly by the flap.

• Remove the pourer sieve 8.

• Clean the pouring sieve 8 with a lightly moiste-

ned dishcloth and under running water.

• After cleaning it, place the pourer sieve 8 from

inside against the opening. Ensure that the lower

and the lateral lugs grip the opening. Press the

pourer sieve 8 until the upper lug engages in

the opening.

• Should the scale deposits in the pourer sieve 8

be firmly settled, lay it in a water-vinegar solu-

tion, with a ratio of 6:1, for a few hours. The sca-

le deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the

pourer sieve 8 with lots of clear water.

Storage

Allow the appliance to cool off completely before

putting it into storage.

• Wind the power cable around the cable winder

5 under the base 4.

• Store the appliance in a dry place.

Disposal

Do not dispose of this appliance in

your normal domestic waste. This pro-

duct is subject to the provisions of Euro-

pean Directive 2002/96/EC.

Dispose of the appliance through an approved di-

sposal centre or at your community waste facility.

Observe the currently applicable regulations.

In case of doubt, please contact your waste dispo-

sal centre.

Dispose of the packaging materials in an

environmentally responsible manner.

Warranty & Service

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from

the date of purchase. The appliance has been ma-

nufactured with care and meticulously examined be-

fore delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of

purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please

make contact by telephone with our Service Depart-

ment. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for

your goods be assured.

The warranty covers only claims for material and

manufacturing defects, but not for transport dama-

ge, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile com-

ponents, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for

private use only and is not intended for commercial

use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and

improper handling, use of force and internal tampe-

ring not carried out by our authorized service

branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any

way by this warranty.

The warranty period will not be extended by repairs

made under warranty. This applies also to replaced

and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant

on purchase must be reported immediately after un-

packing the appliance, at the latest, two days after

the purchase date. Repairs made after the expira-

tion of the warranty period are subject to payment.

σε οικιακή χρήση. Δεν προβλέπεται για τη χρήση με

άλλα υγρά ή για επαγγελματική χρήση. Αυτή η

συσκευή προορίζεται αποκλειστικά για τη χρήση σε

ιδιωτικά νοικοκυριά. Μη χρησιμοποιείτε τη συσκευή

για επαγγελματικό σκοπό!

Υποδείξεις ασφαλείας



Για την αποφυγή κινδύνου ζωής μέσω

ηλεκτροπληξίας:

• Βεβαιωθείτε ότι η υποδοχή με τις ηλεκτρικές συνδέσεις

δεν θα έρθει ποτέ σε επαφή με νερό! Αφήνετε την

υποδοχή να στεγνώνει πλήρως, εάν έχει βραχεί

κατά λάθος.

• Χρησιμοποιείτε τον βραστήρα νερού με την

παραδιδόμενη υποδοχή.

• Να προσέχετε το καλώδιο τροφοδοσίας να μην

βρέχεται ή υγραίνεται ποτέ κατά τη διάρκεια

λειτουργίας. Να το τοποθετείτε έτσι, ώστε να μην

υφίσταται περίπτωση να μαγκωθεί ή να υποστεί

άλλου είδους ζημιά.

• Τα βύσματα ή καλώδια δικτύου με βλάβη πρέπει

να αντικαθίστανται αμέσως από εξουσιοδοτημένο

ειδικό προσωπικό ή από το τμήμα εξυπηρέτησης

πελατών, ώστε να αποφεύγονται κίνδυνοι.

• Τραβάτε πάντα μετά τη χρήση το βύσμα από την

πρίζα. Η απενεργοποίηση δεν αρκεί διότι υπάρχει

ακόμα τάση στη συσκευή, όσο το βύσμα βρίσκεται

στην υποδοχή.



Για την αποφυγή κινδύνου πυρκαγιάς

και τραυματισμού:

• Ζεσταίνετε νερό πάντα μόνο με κλειστό κάλυμμα,

σε άλλη περίπτωση δεν λειτουργεί ο αυτόματος

απενεργοποίησης. Το νερό που βράζει μπορεί

τότε να πιτσιλάει προς τα έξω από τις άκρες.

• Ίσως διαφεύγουν καυτοί ατμοί. Επίσης το δοχείο

είναι πολύ καυτό κατά τη λειτουργία. Για το λόγο

αυτό φοράτε γάντια κουζίνας.

• Εξασφαλίστε ότι η συσκευή είναι σταθερή και ότι

στέκεται κάθετα, πριν την ενεργοποιήσετε.

Το νερό που βράζει μπορεί να κάνει τη συσκευή

ασταθή με αποτέλεσμα να πέσει κάτω.

• Αυτή η συσκευή δεν προορίζεται για χρήση

από άτομα (συμπεριλαμβανομένων παιδιών) με

περιορισμένες φυσικές, αισθητηριακές ή πνευματικές

δυνατότητες ή με έλλειψη εμπειρίας και/ ή με

έλλειψη γνώσεων, εκτός εάν επιτηρούνται μέσω ενός

υπεύθυνου ατόμου για την ασφάλειά τους ή εάν

έχουν λάβει υποδείξεις για το πως χρησιμοποιείται

η συσκευή.

• Τα παιδιά πρέπει να επιτηρούνται ώστε να

εξασφαλίζεται ότι δεν παίζουν με τη συσκευή.

Θέση σε λειτουργία

• Πριν θέσετε τη συσκευή σε λειτουργία βεβαιωθείτε

ότι...

– η συσκευή, το βύσμα, το καλώδιο δικτύου είναι σε

τέλεια κατάσταση και...

– όλα τα υλικά συσκευασίας έχουν απομακρυνθεί

από τη συσκευή.

• Γεμίστε τη συσκευή με νερό έως το σύμβολο Max

(ΜΕΓΙΣΤΟ) και αφήστε το να βράσει μια φορά

εντελώς – όπως περιγράφεται στο επόμενο

απόσπασμα.

• Μετά το βράσιμο αδειάστε αυτό το νερό.

• Καθαρίστε το δοχείο με καθαρό νερό.

• Γεμίστε τη συσκευή ακόμα μία φορά με νερό μέχρι

το σημάδι MAX στη διαβάθμιση 7 και αφήστε

το να βράσει. Αδειάστε και αυτό το νερό.

Τώρα η συσκευή είναι έτοιμη για λειτουργία.



Κίνδυνος!

Ποτέ μην φέρνετε την ηλεκτρική υποδοχή 4 κοντά

σε νερό – Κίνδυνος θανάτου!

Υπόδειξη:

Χρησιμοποιείτε πάντα φρέσκο νερό.

Μην καταναλώνετε νερό το οποίο έχει παραμείνει για

παραπάνω από μία ώρα μέσα στο βραστήρα.

Μην βράζετε κρύο νερό εκ νέου. Αδειάζετε πάντα το

παλαιό νερό. Μπορεί να δημιουργηθούν μικρόβια!

• Απομακρύνετε την κανάτα για να τη γεμίζετε!

• Ανοίξτε το καπάκι 1, πιέζοντας το πλήκτρο

απασφάλισης 2.

• Κρατήστε κατά την πλήρωση κάθετα την κανάτα.

Τώρα μπορείτε να διαβάσετε τις σημάνσεις στη

διαβάθμιση 7 σωστά.

Γεμίστε την κανάτα...

– το λιγότερο μέχρι τη σήμανση MIN για να μην

υπερθερμανθεί η συσκευή,

– το μέγιστο μέχρι τη σήμανση MAX έτσι ώστε να

μην υπερχειλίσει νερό που βράζει, προς τα έξω.

• Πρώτα κλείστε το καπάκι 1...

• και τοποθετήστε την κανάτα στην υποδοχή 4,

μέχρι να σταθεί επάνω σε αυτή 4 κάθετα.

• Τοποθετήστε τώρα το φις στη πρίζα.

• και πιέστε τον διακόπτη ON/ OFF 3 προς τα

κάτω έως ότου κουμπώσει κάτω.

• Η λυχνία ελέγχου 6 δείχνει ότι τώρα η συσκευή

ζεσταίνεται.

• Η συσκευή απενεργοποιείται αυτόματα μέχρι

η λυχνία ελέγχου 6 να σβήσει μόλις το νερό βράσει.

Ο διακόπτης ΟΝ/ΟFF 3 πηδά προς τα επάνω.

Προειδοποίηση!

Τραβήξτε πρώτα το φις από την πρίζα πριν να

σηκώσετε την κανάτα από τη βάση 4.

Για το λόγο αυτό αποφεύγετε την είσοδο νερού που

παφλάζει, μέσα στις ηλεκτρικές συνδέσεις στη βάση 4

με συνέπεια να προκαλέσει ένα βραχυκύκλωμα.



Κίνδυνος τραυματισμού!

Για λόγους ασφάλειας δεν πρέπει να ανοίγετε το

καπάκι 1 όταν το νερό βράζει ή είναι πολύ ζεστό.

Υπάρχει κίνδυνος εγκαυμάτων.

Καθαρισμός και φροντίδα



Κίνδυνος!

Ποτέ μην ανοίγετε κάποια τμήματα της επικάλυψης.

Δεν υπάρχουν στοιχεία χειρισμού εκεί μέσα.

Όταν το περίβλημα είναι ανοιχτό υφίσταται κίνδυνος

ζωής από ηλεκτροπληξία.

Σε καμία περίπτωση δεν επιτρέπεται τα τμήματα

συσκευής να βυθίζονται σε νερό ή άλλα υγρά!

Εδώ υπάρχει κίνδυνος ζωής από βραχυκύκλωμα

όταν κατά τη λειτουργία φτάνουν υπόλοιπα υγρών

σε μέρη με ρεύμα.

Πριν καθαρίσετε τη συσκευή, ...

• τραβήξτε πρώτα το βύσμα από την πρίζα και

αφήστε τη συσκευή να κρυώσει.

• Καθαρίζετε όλες τις εξωτερικές επιφάνειες και το

καλώδιο δικτύου με ένα ελαφρά νωπό πανί

καθαρισμού. Στεγνώστε τη συσκευή σε κάθε

περίπτωση καλά, πριν την χρησιμοποιήσετε εκ

νέου.

• Για την κανάτα από ανοξείδωτο χάλυβα μπορείτε

να χρησιμοποιήσετε ένα ενδεδειγμένο μέσο από

το εμπόριο.

• Μην χρησιμοποιείτε καθαριστικά μέσα, μέσα

τριψίματος ή διαλυτικά. Αυτά μπορεί να φθείρουν

τη συσκευή.

Σε υπολείμματα αλάτων

• Αφαιρέστε πριν από την αφαλάτωση το φίλτρο

έκχυσης 8 (βλέπε κεφάλαιο “Αφαίρεση/

τοποθέτηση φίλτρου έκχυσης).

• Χρησιμοποιήστε ένα κατάλληλο διαλυτικό αλάτων

από κατάστημα οικιακών ειδών, το οποίο ενδείκνυται

για δοχεία τροφίμων (π.χ. διαλυτικό αλάτων για

καφετιέρες). Προχωρήστε σύμφωνα με την οδηγία

χρήσης αυτού του διαλυτικού αλάτων.

Αφαίρεση/τοποθέτηση φίλτρου έκχυσης

• Ανοίγετε το καπάκι 1.

• Πιέστε από μπροστά αντίθετα από την άνω άκρη

ασφάλισης που βρίσκεται στη μέση του φίλτρου

έκχυσης 8 και κρατήστε ταυτόχρονα γερά στον

αμφιδέτη.

• Αφαιρέστε το φίλτρο έκχυσης 8.

• Καθαρίστε το φίλτρο 8 με ένα ελαφρά υγρό πανί

καθαρισμού και κάτω από τρεχούμενο νερό.

• Τοποθετήστε μετά τον καθαρισμό το φίλτρο

έκχυσης 8 από μέσα αντίθετα από το άνοιγμα.

Προσέχετε ότι θα πρέπει να πιάνει η κάτω και οι

πλαϊνές άκρες ασφάλισης στο άνοιγμα.

Πιέστε το φίλτρο έκχυσης 8 έως ότου η άνω

άκρη ασφάλισης, ασφαλιστεί στο άνοιγμα.

• Εάν έχουν καθήσει υπολείμματα αλάτων στο

φίλτρο 8, τότε τοποθετήστε το για μερικές ώρες

σε ένα διάλειμμα νερού-ξιδιού με μία αναλογία

6:1. Τα υπολείμματα αλάτων θα διαλυθούν.

Ξεπλύνετε το φίλτρο 8 με πολύ καθαρό νερό.

Φύλαξη

Αφήστε πρώτα τη συσκευή να κρυώσει εντελώς,

προτού την αποθηκεύσετε.

• Τυλίξτε το καλώδιο δικτύου γύρω από τη διάταξη

τύλιξης καλωδίου 5 κάτω από την υποδοχή 4.

• Φυλάξτε τη συσκευή σε ένα στεγνό χώρο.

Απόρριψη

Σε καμία περίπτωση μην πετάξετε τη συσκευή

στα οικιακά απορρίμματα. Αυτό το προϊόν

υπόκειται στην Ευρωπαϊκή Οδηγία

2002/96/EC.

Απομακρύνετε τη συσκευή μέσω μιας εγκεκριμένης

επιχείρησης απομάκρυνσης ή μέσω της κοινοτικής

επιχείρησης απομάκρυνσης.

Να τηρείτε τους ισχύοντες κανονισμούς.

Επικοινωνήστε σε περίπτωση αμφιβολιών με την

επιχείρηση απομάκρυνσης.

Απομακρύνετε όλα τα υλικά συσκευασιών

φιλικά προς το περιβάλλον.

Εγγύηση & Σέρβις

Έχετε για αυτή τη συσκευή 3 χρόνια εγγύηση από

την ημερομηνία αγοράς. Η συσκευή κατασκευάστηκε

και ελέγχθηκε προσεκτικά πριν από την αποστολή.

περίπτωση εγγύησης. Μόνο έτσι μπορεί να

εξασφαλιστεί μια δωρεάν αποστολή του

εμπορεύματός σας.

Η απόδοση εγγύησης ισχύει μόνο για σφάλματα

υλικού ή κατασκευής, όχι όμως για ζημιές από τη

μεταφορά, για εξαρτήματα φθοράς ή για βλάβες σε

εύθραυστα εξαρτήματα, π.χ. διακόπτες ή

συσσωρευτές. Το προϊόν προορίζεται μόνο για την

ιδιωτική και όχι για την επαγγελματική χρήση.

Σε περίπτωση κακής μεταχείρισης και ακατάλληλης

χρήσης, σε χρήση βίας και σε παρεμβάσεις οι

οποίες δεν διεξήχθησαν από το εξουσιοδοτημένο

μας τμήμα σέρβις, η εγγύηση παύει να ισχύει. Τα νο-

μικά σας δικαιώματα δεν περιορίζονται μέσω αυτής

της εγγύησης.

Ο χρόνος εγγύησης δεν επεκτείνεται μέσω της

απόδοσης εγγύησης. Αυτό ισχύει και για

εξαρτήματα τα οποία έχουν αντικατασταθεί ή

επισκευαστεί. Ενδεχόμενες ήδη υπάρχουσες κατά

την αγορά, ζημιές και ελλείψεις πρέπει να

αναφέρονται αμέσως μετά την αποσυσκευασία, το

αργότερο όμως δύο ημέρες μετά την ημερομηνία

αγοράς. Επισκευές που εμφανίζονται μετά τη λήξη

του χρόνου εγγύησης χρεώνονται.
