All products have an ideal operating
enviroment in which they can perfrom
best. The purpose of these General Safety
instructions is to identify that enviroment
and to help you get the best from this
product over as long a period as possible.
1. Only use this microwave for food preparation,
not for drying clothes, paper, pets or for any
other non food use. Microwave ovens cannot
sterilse and you must not use yours for this
purpose.
2. The oven must not be operated when empty
of food or liquid such use can damage it
beyond repair. (see questions & answers page
17.) A good ideal is to select a microwave safe
cup which has no metallic glaze or decorative
trim, half fill with water and keep it in the
microwave at all times when you aren’t
actually cooking, so if the oven is accidentally
switched on the water absorb the microwave
energy and avoid damage to the oven.
3. Do not use the oven cavity for any type of
storage, such as papers, cookbook, cookware,
or any other non food items into the
microwave.
4. Do not operate the microwave without the
glass tray in place. Be sure it is properly seated
on the rotating base at all times.
5. If you ar reheating food in bottles, remove all
caps and lids prior to putting such items into
the microwave. Do not use narrow necked
bottles they can break. Do not cook food in
bottles for the same reasons.
6. Never place anything between the door and
the door frame, to aviod the possibility of
protentially dangerous microwave energy
leakage.
7. Do not use recycled paper products for
cooking. They may contain impurities which
could cause sparks and/or fires which would
damage your microwave beyond repair.
8. Making popcorn in a microwave is difficult.
Use only a microwave safe popper, (a
specialcontainer available from stores). Never
exceed the popcorn manufacturer’s direction
(generally less than 3 minutes) longer cooking
will givemore or better popcorn, but increase
the risk of scorching or fire. Do not use oil
unless recommended by the popcorn
manufacturers. The yields from microwaving
popcorn are lower than those you get with
conventional cooking methods and a number
of unpopped kernels will always result. Do
not leave the microwave unattended this will
reduce the risk of fire. Microwave popcorn is
available and results here are better, but not
perfect.
9. If cooking food surrounded by a membrane,
(such as egg yolks, potatoes, tomatoes,
chicken livers) piercing them several times
with a fork before placing them in the
microwave.
10. Keep the waveguide cover clean at all times.
Wipe the oven interior with a soft damp cloth
after each use. If you leave grease or fat
anywhere in the cavity it may overheat, smoke
or even catch fire when next using the oven.
11. Never heat oil or fat for deep frying as you
cannot control the temperature and doing
so may lead to overheating and fire.
