SAFETY INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Please read the following information and keep it for future reference.
1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by
children, unless they are older than 8 years and are supervised.

4. Keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of
children under 8 years.
5. Connect appliance only to an AC power supply with voltage cor

responding to the voltage on the rating plate.

Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or remote
control system.
7. Never immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or other
liquids.
8. The base should never come into contact with water or other liq
-
uids. In case this ever happens, it must be completely dry before
operating the appliance again.

Do not clean the electric kettle or the base in a dish-washer.
10. Never touch the appliance or power cord with wet hands.
11. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as:
staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environ
-
ments;
farm houses;
by client in hotels, motels and other working environments;
bed and breakfast type environments.
12. For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a
metal tray or a wet surface.
13. Do not place the appliance or power cord near open flames dur

ing operation.

Always use the electric kettle on a level, uncluttered and heat-
resistant surface.
15. Make sure that the power cord does not hang over the edge
of the countertop or table, since this can cause accidents, for
example if small children pull on the cord.
16. Route the power cord so that there is no possibility of the cord
being pulled or tripped over.
17. Never wrap the power cord around the appliance.
18. Use the electric kettle only indoors.
19. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do not use it to heat
milk or other liquids, since they will boil over when heated.
20. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in the electric kettle.

21. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is always completely
closed, to prevent injuries from hot splashing water.
22. Do not open the lid as long as the water is boiling, to prevent
injuries from hot splashing water.
23. Never fill the appliance with more than 1.5liters of water, to
prevent the water from boiling over.
24. Never switch on the appliance if there is no water in the kettle.
25. Make sure that all users, especially children, are aware of the
danger of injury from emerging steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
26. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in operation, to pre
-
vent burns from splashing water.
27.
The electric kettle features boil dry protection, which means the
appliance shuts off automatically if the heating element becomes
too hot. Allow the appliance to cool about 15 minutes. Then fill
the electric kettle with cold water. The boil dry protection is
deactivated and the appliance is ready for operation again.
28. Do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufactur
-
ers or brands, to prevent damage. The kettle is only to be used
with the stand provided.
29.
Unplug the appliance from the power supply after use and prior
to cleaning. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is
plugged in to the power supply.
30. Check the appliance, the plug and the power cord regularly for
wear or damage. In case of damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance or the base for inspection and
repair to our after sales service. Unauthorized repairs can result
in serious risks to the user and void the warranty.
31. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu
-
facturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.
Caution! Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. If the
kettle is overfilled, boiling water can splash out.
Never open the housing of the appliance. This can result
in electric shock. The kettle is only to be used with the stand
provided.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if
repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME
1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety
devices. Keep packaging materials away from children - danger
of suffocation!
2. Clean all parts as described in the chapter “Cleaning and care”.
3. Check to make sure that the appliance is stable.
4. Connect the base via the power cord to the power supply (220–
240 V~, 50/60 Hz).
5. Remove the kettle from the base.
6. Open the lid by pressing the button at the handle.
7. Add clear, cold water to the “Max” marking.
8. Close the lid by pressing lightly.
9. Place the kettle level on the base.
10. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF switch.
11. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on
the base.
12. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
13. For hygienic reasons, please discard the water from the first
boiling.
FUNCTIONS
The kettle has two functions:
Heating or boiling water
The water is warmed to the pre-set temperature. Thus you obtain
lukewarm to briskly boiling water, as desired. The temperature can
be set in -5°C increments between 100°C and 60°C.
The factory preset is 100°C.
Keeping warm
The previously boiled water is kept warm at the desired temperature
after boiling/heating. The temperature at which the water is kept
warm can be set in -5°C increments between 100°C and 60°C. The

USE - HEATING OR BOILING WATER
Caution: The base of the appliance should never come into
contact with water - danger of electric shock!
Only use fresh tap water. Do not boil water that has been in the
container of the electric kettle for longer than one hour, to avoid
health hazards due to the formation of germs.
1. Remove the kettle from the base.
2. Open the lid by pressing the „Open“ button.
3. Add at least enough water for one cup, (appropriate mark on
the appliance). You can fill the container with a maximum of
1.5 litres of water. Do not fill more water than up to the Max
mark, otherwise the boiling water can boil over and cause inju
-
ries.
4.
Close the lid by pressing lightly until it locks into place.
5. Place the kettle so it is straight on the base, to ensure that con
-
tact is established with the base.
6.
Plug the mains plug of the appliance into an electrical outlet
(220–240 V~, 50/60 Hz).
7. The display will be illuminated for approx. 10 seconds. The dis
-
play illumination will go out if you do not press a button within
these
10
seconds.
Boiling water at 100 °C
8. The basic setting of the appliance is 100 °C.
9. Press the ON/OFF button, the water will be heated to 100 °C.
10. The display flashes three times before the boiling process starts.
maximum temperature at which the water can be kept warm is the
boiling temperature.
There is no factory preset for the temperature at which the water is
kept warm. The keep warm function is ended automatically when
the kettle is removed from the base.
Through this function you can ensure that your water also still has
the desired temperature, even if you do not use it immediately after
concluding the boiling process.

Heating the water to a desired temperature
11. Press the „80 °C button or the „100 °C“ button, alternatively
you can also press the „-5 °“ button to adjust the pre-set tem
-
perature as you desire. The lowest temperature that can be set
is 60
°C; after reaching this setting the display will revert to
100 °C. This means that you can enter the desired temperature
in minus increments, however you cannot increase the tempera
-
ture. If you want a temperature that is higher than the selected
temperature, please start again with step 6.

Press the ON/OFF button.
13. The display flashes three times before the boiling process starts.
14. Likewise during the boiling process, the temperature can be
changed via the temperature buttons, „80 °C“, „100 °C“ or
„-5 °“. Caution: If the water temperature in the appliance is above
the selected temperature, the appliance cannot be switched on.
15. Caution: The automatic temperature control only functions when
the lid is properly closed.
16. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
17. Whenever you take the kettle off the base, the appliance is auto
-
matically switched off, even if the water is not yet boiling.
18.
Of course you may also push the switch into the „O“-position to
interrupt heating.
19. If you want to boil more water, please allow the appliance to cool
off for a few minutes.
20. The appliance features boil dry protection. When operated
without water or with excessive scaling, the appliance shuts off
automatically. If this happens, please allow the appliance to
cool off briefly before filling it with water again or descale the
appliance as described in the chapter “Descaling”.
21. Caution: First unplug the mains plug, before you take the
container off of the base, to avoid a possible short-circuit hazard
due to water. To avoid burn injuries, do not touch or move the lid
as long as the water is boiling.
Boiling water can cause scalding. Therefore, please handle the
appliance with care when it contains hot water.

USE - KEEPING WATER WARM
1. With the keep warm function it is possible to keep water that has
already been heated at the selected temperature for a maximum
of 120 minutes.
2. Prepare the appliance as described above, however do not switch
it on yet.
3. Press the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds.
4. The display flashes three times before the boiling process starts.
5. The keep warm mode will be maintained for a maximum of 120
minutes, then the appliance will switch off for safety reasons.
6. If you want to end keep warm mode, switch off the appliance via
the ON/OFF button.
7. Keep warm mode will end automatically when you take the appli
-
ance off of the base.

tainer off of the base, to avoid a possible short-circuit hazard
due to water

o avoid burn injuries, do not touch or move the lid
as long as the water is boiling.
Boiling water can cause scalding. Therefore, please handle the
appliance with care when it contains hot water.
CLEANING AND CARE
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and
unplug it from the power supply.
1. Do not immerse the base, power cord or kettle in water or other
liquids or wash them in the dishwasher.
2. Wipe off the base and the kettle with a damp cloth and a little
dishwashing detergent. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents,
steel wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants,
since they can damage the appliance.
3. The appliance must be completely dry on the outside before you
use it again.

DESCALING
1. To keep the appliance operating efficiently and to prolong its
service life, it should be descaled regularly, depending on the
hardness of your water.
2. The lime scale filter has to be cleaned regularly. Please empty
the kettle completely and allow it to cool off. Carefully remove
the filter from the pour spout. Clean the filter carefully with a
soft brush under running water. You can also place the filter in
a bowl with a descaling solution. Then rinse the filter with clear
water and insert it in the pour spout.
3. Use off-the-shelf descaling products for electric kettles and
comply with the manufacturer’s instructions. To descale, fill the
kettle half full, maximum, otherwise the liquid can boil over and
can cause severe injuries.
4. Heat the liquid to between (do not boil!) and allow it to sit for
some time in the electronic kettle.
5. Pour the descaling solution out of the kettle.
6. Then fill it with fresh water and bring to a boil. Pour this water
out as well. Then rinse out the kettle at least twice with clean
water.

WASTE DISPOSAL / ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

and expert repairs by our after-sales service can extend the useful life of the appliance. If an
appliance is defective and repair is not possible we ask you to follow the following instructions
for disposal. Do not dispose this appliance together with your standard household waste. Please
bring this product to an approved collection point for recycling of electric and electronic prod-
ucts. By separate collection and disposal of waste products you help to protect natural resources
and ensure, that the product is disposed in an adequate way to protect health and environment.
GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
We grant a 24 months guarantee, and in case of commercial use a 12 months guarantee, starting from the
date of purchase for any damage demonstrably due to manufacturing defects and when the appliance has been
used according to its intended use. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workman-
ship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany
and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of
defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with
a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description
of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs
only in Germany and Austria. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and
failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications
are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited
by this warranty.
