A. Never leave surfilce units tmattended at high
settings, goilovers cause smoking and greasy
spillove_ that may ignite. Heat oils slowly on
low or medimn settings.
B. Always tm'n hood ON when cooking at high
heat or when flamb_ing t0od (i.e. Crepes
Suzette, Cherries.Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef
Flamb0).
C. Clean ventilating rims fl'equently. Grease
should not be allowed to accmmflate on
tim or filter.
D. Use proper pan size. Alwa}:s use cookware
appropriate fl)r tile size of tile surlace
element.

combustion and exhausting of gases

equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow
tile heating equipment manufilcturer's
guideline and satiety standards such as those
published by tile National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA), and tile American
Society for Heating, Refrigeration and
Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE),
and tile local code authorities.
C. "x4hen cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling,
do not damage electrical wiring and other
hidden utilities.
D. Ducted rims must alwavs be vented to tile

1 ON/OFF. It remembe_ the last tim speed
used. (Four speed tim.)

3 Increases the speed.
4 Highest speed "instant on" BOOST.
NOTE: BOOST em speed can only be
selected with this pad. BOOST is not
obtainable by using tile increase tan speed
_ pad.
5 Delayed f_ln shubott. Choose 5, 10 or
20 minutes by pushing this button.
6 I,ight ON/OFF. It remembers the last light
level used. (Six light levels.)
7 Dims the light.
8 Brightens the light.
9 Clean Filter i,ight

light glo_vs until the filte_ are removed,
cleaned if necessa_ T and replaced. If tile light
is blinking alter tile filte_ have been replaced,

seated in the filmr channels. Then the timer
resets automaticallv.

Implement
holders
hnplement holder rods are on each side of
tile hood.
LIse these rods to hang and display cooking
utensils such as whisks, spoons, forl<s or anv
non-flammable decorative items. Frequently
used small pots and pans can also hang fl'om
these rods.
WARNING:
DO NOT hang flammable items from these
implement rods.
DO NOT hang items weighing more than
10 pounds on either side, or 20 pounds
total weight.

Clean tile grease filter after 30 ho/u5 of "on" time.
A red signal light will alert you when 30 hours
has passed.
Remove the grease filters and wash them
either by hand or in tile dishwasher using
non-abrasive soap.
To clean, swish the filters in hot soapy water
or wash them in the dishwasher. Do not use
abrasive cleanse_.
Replace tile filters and make sure that they are
correcfl) seated in the filter channels, A(!just as
necessary until tile red signal, light, stoi)s blinking,.
NOTE:To remove filters,
push them back and
down using the knob.

Do not use a steel wool pad; it will scratch
the surface.
To clean tile stainless steel s/mfhce, use watch
sudsy water; a stainless steel cleaner such as Kleen
ICdng% or an all-l)urpose liquid or spray cleaner.
Alwa)'s scHtb in tile direction of tile grain. Rinse
thoroughly with a sponge or cloth and clean
water; Dry with a sott, clean cloth.
_fter cleaning, use a stainless steel polish, such as
Stainless Steel Magic <'_,Revere Col)per and
Stainless Steel Cleane_ _'_or Wenol _dl Purpose
Metal Polish _>.Follow the product instructions

Light bulbs
To chmlge the light bulbs:
1. Remoxe tile trim ring b} turning it
counterclockwise.
2. Grasp tile bulb on tile edges and
pull it straight out.
3. Replace with the same size bulb.
These ] 2 volt, 20 watt halogen bulbs
are available at specialty lighting stores.

The motor is probably overheating and turning itself off. This can
be hannflfl to the motor. Check to be sure the filter is clema. If ot1

The filters have been in place tot 30 hours of "on" time. Remove the
filters, clean if necessarv and replace them. Make sure they are
correctly seated in the filter channels. A_!just as necessary until the
