Assembly
Accessories (fi g. A)
These models may be supplied with some of the
following accessories:
♦ Large brush head (6)
♦ Large crevice tool (7)
♦ Flexible hose (8)
Fitting the accessories (Fig. A)
♦ Fit the appropriate accessory on to the short
end of the fl exible hose (8). Make sure that the
accessory is pushed fully on.
♦ Fit the long end of the fl exible hose (8) into
the front of the appliance. Make sure that the
fl exible hose is pushed fully in.
Use
Connecting to the vehicle’s power supply
♦ Make sure that the appliance is switched off.
♦ Remove the cigarette lighter from it’s socket.
♦ Plug the 12V car connector (5) into the
cigarette lighter socket.

♦ To switch the appliance on, slide the on/off
switch (1) forward to position 1.
♦ To switch the appliance off, slide the on/off
switch (1) back to position 0.
Optimising the suction force
In order to keep the suction force optimised, the
fi lters must be cleared regularly during use.
Emptying and cleaning the product.
Quick empty the dust bowl (fi g. C)
♦ Press the release latches (9) and pull the
nozzle (4) straight off.
♦ Empty the contents of the bowl.
♦ To replace the nozzle, place it back onto the
handle until it “clicks” fi rmly into position.
Removing the dust bowl and fi lters (fi g. D)
Warning! The fi lters are re-usable and should be
cleaned regularly.
♦ Press the release latch (2) and pull the dust
bowl (3) straight off.
♦ While holding the dust bowl over a bin, pull out
the fi lter to empty the contents of the bowl.
♦ To replace the dust bowl, place it back onto the
handle until it “clicks” fi rmly into position.
Warning! Never use the appliance without
the fi lters. Optimum dust collection will only be
achieved with clean fi lters.
Pre-fi lter (fi g. E)
The Filter and pre-fi lter can be separated to allow
better cleaning.
♦ Twist the pre-fi lter (10) in a clockwise direction
and lift from the fi lter (11).
Cleaning the dust bowls and fi lters
♦ The dust bowls and fi lters can be washed in
warm soapy water.
♦ Make sure that the fi lters and the dust bowl are
dry before re-fi tting.
Replacing the fi lters
The fi lters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months
and whenever worn or damaged.

period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon
proper tool care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance on
corded/ cordless power tools:
♦ Switch off and unplug the appliance/tool.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. This product must
not be disposed of with normal household
waste.
Should you fi nd one day that your
BLACK+DECKER product needs replacement, or
if it is of no further use to you, do not dispose of it
with household waste. Make this product available
for separate collection.
