Device description
The Brielmaier motor mower is a single-axle
broadgage mower
for extreme applications in alpine and local areas.
It distinguishes itself particularly through its
continuous hydraulic technology application.
The Brielmaier motor mower is driven by a 4-
stroke gas engine. This engine drives a triple
geared pump that feeds the oil engines for gear
and mower device drivers via carefully adapted
valve technology. Thanks to up-to-date valve
technology all transmissions and mechanical
clutches can be omitted!
• All our motors are fueled by unleaded gas.
• Factory engine oil AVIA 5W40
• Hydraulic oil: alternatively, biodegradable oil
AVIA Syntrofluid 46N or engine oil 5W40
Before starting operation
Please familiarize yourself with operating the
Brielmaier motor mower before starting operation
since improper use of it could cause accidents and
hazards.
Thus, you reduce the risk of accidents for yourself
and/or third party!
Please, above all read through the instructions
on the following pages!
It is indispensable to read this Operating Manual
before starting the mower!
4
Caution!
Real safety means for you to be familiar with all safety instruction labels. This applies to the
nature and location of possible danger and in particular to any kind of appropriate safety
measures. Be always vigilant and aware of danger(s).
This mower is marked with warning signs (adhesive safety labels). These adhesive safety labels
are described and illustrated (full-size depiction) in the following paragraph:
Device description, adhesive warning label
and symbols
3
Please read through the
operation manual and the
safety instructions before
starting to operate the mower
and apply those in practice.
Hazards due to possible
flying parts during engaged
motor – keep safe distance.
Stop engine and remove key
before starting maintenance
or repair works.

Safety instructions / Before starting operation
Even the most important safety instructions that
are included in this manual do not cover all
possible risks. Common sense and caution are
factors to be expected from the user of the motor
mower – since they cannot be expected to stem
from the motor mower itself.
To minimize the risks of accident please take the
following items into consideration:
Read the operation manual first before starting
to operate the mower and make sure you feel
comfortable with the functioning of the operating
elements. (see page 5)
• Choose a free and plane ground for first time
utilization of the Brielmaier motor mower.
Since you are responsible for third person safety
within the mowers operating range, ensure that
all safety conditions for the protection of human
beings and animals are met.
• Make sure to wear tight clothing to minimize
the risk of accidents (wide garment may get
caught by the mower).
• Ensure to wear solid shoes with sufficiently
strong profile. Humidity and rain may increase
the risk of slipping and skidding – therefore, be
careful when mowing hilly terrain and steep
areas and make sure, you work on a dry ground
featuring good grip only.
• The Brielmaier motor mower is to be used
exclusively as a mower and/or is designed for
operation with Brielmaier additional equipment
only. Any given misappropriation can cause
danger for the operator or further third party.
caution
• Remove the knife guard before starting the
mower and after finishing mowing stop the
mower first and then attach the knife guard
again. Pay attention to attach the knife guard
securely in particular when the mower will not
be operated for a prolonged period (hall, garage
etc.).
• Never step before the operating mower and
protect other persons from doing so.
• Never remove protection equipment such as
the deadman switch (Overview, lever 2, page
3), the exhaust pipe burning guard or other
sheet metal guards. Should these devices be
damaged stop the mower immediately and
ensure adequate repair.
• All operating elements should be inserted
properly, easy going and well functioning.
• Fill up the Brielmaier motor mower with
unleaded normal gas only.
• Before filling up the tank stop the engine -
ensure to fill up when the engine is cold, so to
avoid gas dropping onto the hot engine and
catching fire. Use a suitable funnel for filling
up. EXPLOSION HAZARD!
• Note: Do not stock unleaded gas longer than
3 months because it looses its flammability and
sediments might occur.
• Do not run engine inside rooms because of
suffocation danger due to carbon monoxide
ejection.
• Do not work with open fire.
Check whether
• there is enough engine and hydraulic oil
• the tank is full
• cutters are sharp
rocker arm mounting, joint bolts and knife guide
arms are greased in the area of „mushrooms“
on knife blades
As the noise level of the 4-stroke engine exceeds
90 dB(A) at full speed, please wear ear protection
according to instructions.
Additionally to this manual, follow generally
applicable safety instructions for accident
prevention.

The most important operating elements
All actuators are ergonomically and arranged
within easy reach. This way, the mower can be
easily conducted without major efforts.
Left hand
1.Hand lever for coupling and brake function
for soft start-off and stop again as well as
infinitely variable speed control in both driving
directions – reverse / forward – irrespective
of engine speed and pre-selected driving
speed. When actuating this lever, the tires
are simultaneously retarded and the mower
is force-controlled in all shift positions, it
cannot roll off in any given situation (100%
safe).
When stopping the mower, the tires are slowed
down to standstill (lever position B). If you
continue to actuate the coupling lever until
position C is reached, the mower machinery
stops.
When starting the mower by releasing the
coupling lever the mower machinery is
activated first and then, the mower starts
moving forward.
2. Push-button for
short-term reversing
As long as this switch
is being pressed
(even under full-load
condition), the
mower slows down
and changes the driving direction to reversing.
The previously set driving speed is maintained.
When reversing the driving direction indication
diode (20) goes off. When releasing the button
the mower brakes again and subsequently
engages in forward motion again.
3.Push-button for up-shifting of the driving speeds
This button has the same function as the button
13 in the middle of the control panel (page 6).
4.Push-button for down-shifting
This button has the same function as the button
12 in the middle of the control panel (page 6).

Center position: straight forward movement.
If you turn the steering bar to the right/to the
left the mower moves simultaneously to the
right and respectively to the left and at the
same time the corresponding mowers wheel
is retarded. Same procedure for reversing (no
operating adaptation strategy necessary). If
the control bar is rotated until abutment (see
diagram) the retarded wheel turns backwards.
Thus, turning on the spot is enabled. This
function is only available for speed 1 and 2.
It is less efficient in speed 2.

Start and turn off engine
10
When starting the engine please proceed as
follows:
• Activate acceleration lever to approx. 1/3
(position 21)
• Keep choke (see depiction below ) always in
center position, and for cold start, engage in
maximum position
If necessary, keep engaged in maximum position
for a short period only (normally only in case
of extremely low temperatures) and switch back
to „medium“ position after having started the
motor
At the latest, after a minute, shift from medium
position to „continuous operation“. In case of
the motor running smoothly, this setting can be
kept. In case of disturbed motor operation, go
back to „medium“ position for a short time
Activate deadman switch (position 5) (interrupts
ignition and should be activated always)
Choke to be set „Maximum“ Choke at „Medium“ Choke at „OFF/Continuous Operation“
Switch on ignition (position 16), then turn key
to the right and align with „Start“
• When motor is running release button and let
switch back to „ignition“ position
For motor shut down, please proceed as indicated
below:
• Switch off mower machinery (position 8), if
running
• Shift down to idle running by pressing button
4 or 12 (see page 6)
• Release deadman switch (position 5)
Ignition switched off and remove key to avoid
unauthorized operation
In case of unexpected, sudden hazards:
• Release deadman switch (position 5)
• Motor is thus shut down and the wheels are
slowed down, and after going further 30 to 50
cm, the mower stops

Start and mow
Familiarize yourself with the Brielmaier motor
mowers basic functions before initial utilization
and choose a free and plane ground.
The motor should operate with approx. 1/3 of the
accelerating power (see previous page on motor
start). Then proceed as follows:
Move the clutch/brake lever upwards with the
left hand until abutment (position 1)
Turn driving speed fine adjustment to the right
until abutment (position 18)
With the help of the driving speed fins
adjustment switch, you can adjust speed
infinitely variable within each driving speed
range from max. (right side abutment) to
standstill
• Shift to driving speed „1“ by means of push-
button 3 or 13 (see also page 6)
For starting off do not use higher speeds than
position „1“, otherwise the mower moves off
too fast
• Trimming should be in the medium position
(position 11)
Via this switch, you can adjust the mowers
straight running mode the way you like. This
enables you for example, to pre-program a
deliberate counter-steering mode on hilly terrain
Leave turnable control bar in medium position
(position 22)and thus, the mower is set to
running straight ahead mode. Turning motion
to the right/to the left results in the mower
turning to the right or respectively to the left
side and, simultaneously, the corresponding
wheel is retarded. The same for reversing (no
operating adaptation strategy necessary)
Ensure that nobody stands in front of the mower!
• Now, let the clutch/brake lever slowly spring
back to the starting position (position 1)
This lever regulates the infinitely variable speed
between the operating speed and standstill and
maximum. It is used for soft starting off and also
for stopping (squeeze the lever to pull back
power, thus speed is reduced and the wheels
are simultaneously retarded)
11
12
Start and mow
The mower is now running
• For shifting, press button 3 and 4 on the left
control bar or buttons 12 and 13 on the
operating panel as described on page 4
Use the turnable control bar for turning (position
22) as described on page 9
• For reversing, slow down the mower first by
pulling the clutch/brake lever and
simultaneously press the driving direction button
once and then release the clutch lever
If possible, reverse in driving speed 1 only!
• It is best to determine the speed with the help
of the appropriate driving speed setting (position
3+4 or 12+13) and use fine adjustment only if
necessary since operation with reduced fine
adjustment leads to increased heating up (fine
adjustment generates a programmed loss of
power that is then converted into heat)
• The mower machinery is switched “ON” and
“OFF” via switch position 8 (irrespective of the
mower operating or being in stationary position)
You can reduce or increase the operating speed
of the cutting unit or of other connected
operating equipment (optional equipment) via
the push-buttons 9 and 10
Moreover, you can determine the speed of the
gas motor via the gas lever (position 21)
Try to run the mower always with the lowest
possible speed to protect the material and the
environment.
Increase the motor speed when mowing on
uneven ground or in any other high-load
situations by turning the acceleration lever in
the direction of the arrow.

towards the equipment to
be attached. Adjust speed
if necessary by means of
fine adjustment
• Keep driving forward
until the upper part of the
snap lock unit of the basic
device can be hooked into
the capture pan of the
device to be attached
Push the mower downwards at the control bar
until the locking device is engaged
• Secure the locking lever by means of the clip
connector and bring the supporting foot back
into the upper position, screw in, connect hoses
