1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Be sure to read this Manual thoroughly before installation.
• The warnings and precautions indicated in this Manual contain important information
pertaining to your safety. Be sure to observe them.
WARNING
This mark indicates procedures which, if improperly performed,
might lead to the death or serious injury of the user.
When installing the Drain Pump, please thoroughly read this manual.
Faulty installation will cause frosting, water leakage, electric shock, re, and/or injury.
Do not turn ON the power until all work has been completed.
Turning ON the power before the work is completed can cause serious accidents such
as electric shock or re.
Connect the indoor unit and drain pump unit with the air conditioner hose and cords
available standards parts. This installation manual describes the correct connections
using the installation set available from our standard parts.
Installation work must be performed in accordance with national wiring standards by
authorized personnel only.
CAUTION
This mark indicates procedures which, if improperly performed,
might possibly result in personal harm to the user, or damage to
property.
The Drain Pump is used by assembling it with a ceiling type room air conditioner. The
Drain Pump cannot be used alone.
Handle the Drain Pump carefully. Dropping it onto the floor or subjecting it to strong
shock will cause erroneous operation or accidents.
When installing the Drain Pump, please refer to the operating manual and installation
manual supplied with the indoor unit.
When using the Drain Pump, the connection pipe outlet direction is up only.
Set up the drain hose for a maximum rise of 500 mm (19-3/4 in.) and give the drain pipe
a down gradient of 1/25 to 1/100. (Fig. 12)
When wiring the power cable and the remote control cable, ensure that they do not
contact the drain pan assy.
2. MAIN UNIT AND ACCESSORIES
The parts listed below are packed with the Drain Pump. Check them before starting in-
stallation work.
Do not discard any accessories needed for installation until the installation work has
been completed.

6.
DRAIN PIPE INSTALLATION
(1) Connect a drain pipe to drain hose B, as required.
Clamp the connecting part with cable tie L so there will be no water leakage and cover
the connecting part with insulation. Use a drain pipe with a good insulating e ect.
(2) Set up the drain hose for a maximum rise 500 mm (19-3/4 in.) and give the drain pipe a
downward gradient of 1/25 to 1/100. (Fig. 12)
(3) Install the drain pipe so there is no rise, trap, or air bleed. (Fig. 13)

TEST RUN
(1) After installation, run the air conditioner in the cooling mode and slowly pour 1.5 to 2.0
liters (3 to 4 pints) of water into the air conditioner outlet section indoor unit drain pan
and check that drain is normal and there is no water leaking from the connections.
(2) To check operation of the safety devices, lift the oat switch with a screwdriver, or
similar device, and check that the indoor unit stops.
