IN STRUC TIONS:
PART 1 : ADD CABIN EX HAUST VENTS (FIG. SB M20- 255-1)
(S/N 27- 0002 thru 27- 0167, ex clud ing S/N 27- 0094)
1.It is rec om mended, but not es sen tial, to re move aft in te rior bag gage com part ment ABS pan els,
both sides. The long ABS pan els, for ward of the bag gage com part ment pan els, will need to be pulled
UP and re strained UP to pro vide ac cess to the in side skin. These long ABS pan els may be re mov ed, if
de sired, to ac com plish the ret ro fit.
Cau tion should be ob served dur ing cut out of hole and drill ing of rivet holes in fu se lage ski n so as
not to drill through any elec tri cal wir ing, ABS pan els or tu bu lar struc ture.
2.Lo cate area of fu se lage skin to be cut out by meas ur ing from the bag gage com part ment/cabin
area, ver ti cal skin lap, for ward, 9.0 inches and down 16.4 inches from lower edge of aft win dow skin
cut- out. The size of each cut- out should be 2.9 inches high and 2.26 inches wide. Keep ver ti cal sides
of cut- out par al lel with ver ti cal skin lap. Rec om mended ra dius on all cor ners of cut- out is .125 inches.

3.De burr cut- out.
4.Cleco 640296- 001 ABS baf fle to a lou vered plate for L/H side sub- assembly to ver ify that all pi lot
holes in baf fle and lou vered plate are matched. Drill all pi lot holes out to #30 holes. Re peat for R/H
side sub- assembly. Iden tify lou vered plates as R/H and L/H dur ing this pro ce dure.
NOTE: - Be sure that lou vers will have open ings to ward the aft end of the air craft .
5.Af ter drill ing #30 match ing holes in baf fle and lou vered plate, sand wich a 640247- 003, alu m i -
num screen be tween L/H baf fle and L/H lou vered plate; punch match ing holes through screen mesh
with an awl. Re peat for R/H side sub- assembly.
6.Place R/H 640130- 000 lou vered plate in po si tion, over R/H cut- out hole, in ac cor dance with F ig.
SB M20- 255-1. The lo ca tion of the lou vered plate does not have to be ex act, how ever, a mini m um of
.31 inches edge dis tance should be main tained for all fas ten ers.
Drill #30 holes in fu se lage skin to match #30 holes in lou vered plates (13 places for each plate ). Ref -
er ence Fig. SB M20- 255-1. Re peat for L/H cut- out hole..
7.In stall R/H lou vered plate (out side of fu se lage skin), R/H alu mi num screen and 640296- 002 A BS
baf fle (in side of fu se lage skin) with Avex 1691- 0410- 05 riv ets and AN960-6 wash ers. Sand wich alu mi -
nun screen be tween ABS baf fle and in side sur face of fu se lage skin as shown in Fig. SB M20- 255-1 .
Re peat for L/H side.
8.Clean up area and in stall ABS in te rior pan els, if re moved.
9.Paint riv ets, at tach ing lou vered plates, to match ex te rior paint color.
10.En ter com pli ance note in log book and re turn air craft to serv ice.
11.Fill out and re turn pre- addressed, stamped com pli ance card.
PART 2 : RE PLACE BUT TER FLY AS SEM BLY IN CABIN VEN TI LA TION J- BOX (FIG. SB M20- 255-2)

1.Lo cate cabin ven ti la tion J- Box in for ward, RH cabin im me di ately be hind fire wall.
2.Ac cess J- Box as sem bly by loos en ing QS100- M40S clamp at J- Box and flex tub ing con nec tion;
re place ex ist ing 640326- 505 but ter fly as sem bly with new 640326- 511 but ter fly as sem bly, Fig. SB
M20- 255-2.
3.Re- install flex tub ing to J- Box with QS100- M40S clamp.
4.En ter com pli ance note in log book and re turn air craft to serv ice.
5.Fill out and re turn pre- addressed, stamped com pli ance card.
