GENERAL iNFORMATiON
For installation where the horizontal termination is too close to the
ground, it is recommended to install a Vent Riser Kit. Two models are
available: SV4.5HRK14, Catalog No. 99L02 and SV4.5HRK36, Catalog
No. 99L03.
This kit contains one Vent Riser Unit and these instructions.
If you encounter any problems, need clarification of these instructions
or are not qualified to properly install this kit, contact you local distribu-
tor or dealer.
Read this instruction sheet in its entirety before beginning the installation.

NOTE: Installation should be performed by a qualified service person.
Install vent according to local codes, these instructions, the fireplace
installation instructions, the current National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI-
Z223.1) in the USA or the current standards of CAN/CGA-B149.1 and
B149.2 in Canada.
iNSTALLATiON iNSTRUCTiONS
Step 1. Follow instructions in the fireplace installation instructions to
install vent pipes from the fireplace. Ensure that the terminus
of the last section of the vent is within the distance specified in
the fireplace installation instructions.
Step 2. From outside the exterior wall, slide the collars of the vent riser
unit onto the last vent section until the vent riser kit seats against
the exterior wall surface, (see Figure 1).

Step 3. Using six corrosion-resistant screws, secure Vent Riser unit to
the exterior wall. Seal gap between the vent riser unit and the
exterior wall with appropriate grade of chalking.
Step 4. When the base of the Vent Riser unit is below grade, a proper
drainage must be planned to prevent water from penetrating
inside. The buried part of the Vent Riser unit must be coated
with tar to protect it from corrosion, as shown in Figure 1.
