Installing Security
You can choose to install two types of security onto the mobile
computer:
• Odyssey Access Client
• Fortress Secure Client
The Odyssey Access Client and Fortress Secure Client both provide a
high level of security over your WLAN. These clients protects the
authentication and connection of the WLAN users and devices,
ensuring that only authorized users connect, that login credentials are
not compromised, and that both network and data privacy will be
maintained over the wireless link.
For help on selecting a client, contact your local Intermec
representative.
To install Fortress Secure Client
1 Go to File Explorer, browse to the \My Documents folder, and tap
WZeroConfigEnable.cab. Microsoft Zero Config is installed.
2 Make sure that the mobile computer can successfully associate
with an access point by tapping the iConnect icon > Status >
Wireless > the Advanced button. The ISpyWiFi utility appears
and shows whether you can associate your mobile computer with
an access point.
3 Use the iConnect application to configure the IP address, network
mask, and SSID.
4 Download the Fortress Secure Client Installation Guide from the
Intermec AIT web site, and follow the directions to install and
configure the Fortress Secure Client.
5 Install the AprivaGuard software. For help, see “Installing the
AprivaGuard Software” on page 17.
The CN4G and CN4eG comes with Odyssey Access Client already
loaded. To use the client on your CN4G and CN4eG, you must
purchase a user license, and activate it. For help on activating the
client, see the CN4G and CN4eG Odyssey Access Client Installation
Instructions.
