– Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Always wear eye protection and protective
equipment, such as a dust mask, non-slip
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions, to reduce
personal injuries.
– Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery, as these can be caught
in moving parts. Wear non-slip footwear
when working outdoors. Wear protective hair
covering to keep long hair out of the way.
– Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operating
a machine. Do not use a machine while
you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A lapse of
concentration while operating this mower
may result in serious personal injury.
– Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off position before
connecting to a power source, picking up or
carrying the machine. Carrying equipment
with your finger on the switch or energising
machines that have the switch on invites
accidents.
– Keep all parts of the body away from the
cutting blades. Make sure the switch is off
when clearing jammed material. A moment
of inattention while operating the cylinder
mower may result in serious personal injury.
– Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the mower in unexpected
situations.
