1 General
1.1 Symbols

must be followed.

Make sure wheelchair is Off and user is removed from wheelchair before
performing this procedure.
After any adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.

3.2 Installation Overview
To install the MK6i Mini Color Display, perform the following procedures:
Save programming settings (optional)
Remove the existing display.
Disconnect the existing display.
Install the MK6i mini color display.
Connect the MK6i mini color display.
Secure the cables.
Program the MK6i mini color display.
4 Usage
4.1 Save Programming Settings
Saving Programming Settings Onto the Basic Memory Card
1. Insert the memory card into the existing display.
2. Turn the wheelchair On.
3. Use the up/down arrows to select STORE TO CARD.
4. Press the Select key.
Saving Programming Settings Onto the Professional Memory Card
1. Insert the memory card into the existing display.
2. Turn the wheelchair On.
3. Use the up/down arrows to select MEMORY CARD.
4. Select SYSTEM.
5. Select SAVE.
6. Select FOLDER.
7. Select the desired folder to save to.
8. Select NAME.
9. Select the desired system to save.
10. Select START.
ACCESSORIES WARNINGS
Invacare products are specifically designed and manufactured for use in conjunction
with Invacare accessories. Accessories designed by other manufacturers have not
been tested by Invacare and are not recommended for use with Invacare products.
For these procedures, refer to FIGURE 1 on page 4.

4.2 Remove the Existing Display
1. Loosen the screw A securing the mounting clamp B.
2. Remove the existing display (not shown) from the mounting clamp.
3. Note the location of tie-wraps securing the existing display cable.
4. Cut the tie-wraps securing the existing display cable.
4.3 Disconnect the Existing Display
1. Verify the display On/Off switch is in the Off position.
2. Pull the latches C away from the display network connector D and the connectors above and
below.
3. Disconnect and remove the display connector from the remaining connectors
4.4 Install the MK6i Mini Color Display
1. Insert the mini color display E into the mounting clamp B.
2. Tighten the screw A to secure the mini color display into the mounting clamp.
4.5 Connect the Mini Color Display
1. Ensure the latch C is pulled away from the network connector F.
2. Connect the network connector to the other connectors.
3. Top and Bottom Connectors - Install connector caps G onto the network connector.
4. Push the latches in to secure the network connectors and caps.
4.6 Secure the Cable
1. Use tie-wraps to secure the cable in the locations noted when removing the existing display.
2. Refer to the Power Wheelchair Wiring Guide, part number 1167603 for more information
regarding securing the cable.
4.7 Program the MK6i Mini Color Display
Reading Programming Settings From the Basic Memory Card
1. Insert the memory card into the mini color display.
2. Turn the wheelchair On.
3. Use the up/down arrows to select READ FROM CARD.
4. Press the Select key.
Reading Programming Settings From the Professional Memory Card
1. Insert the memory card into the mini color display.
2. Turn the wheelchair On.
3. Use the up/down arrows to select MEMORY CARD.
4. Select SYSTEM.
5. Select READ.
Ensure the gaskets D are installed in the top connector cap and between
network connectors.
CAUTION
Risk of Damage To Cables
DO NOT overtighten the tie-wraps securing the cables. Overtightened tie-wraps
can damage cables.
To ensure proper use and operation of the mini color display, the cable must be
properly secured.
6. Select FOLDER.
7. Select the desired folder to read from.
8. Select NAME.
9. Select the desired system to read from.
10. Select START.
Programming Settings Without a Memory Card
Refer to the MK6i Field Reference Guide, part number 1141471, for programming information.
