Introduction
Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the headphones with
sound suppression KH 2347 and provides you with important infor-
mation for intended use, safety, installation and connection as well as
operation of the headphones.
The operating instructions must be constantly kept available, close to
the headphones. They are to be read and used by anyone assigned
to install, service and repair faults in the headphones.
Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the head-
phones to any future owners.

These headphones are exclusively intended for non-commercial
purposes for:
listening to audio material,
the reducing of undesirable surrounding noises or
listening to audio material without the disturbing background
noises
This device is not intended for an

The headphones could become dangerous when used improperly
and/or used for purposes other than those intended.
Use the headphones exclusively for the purpose that they are
intended.
Observe the procedures described in these operating
instructions.
Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not
be accepted.
The operator alone bears liability.

Safety
In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding
handling of the headphones.
These headphones comply with the required safety regulations. In-
correct usage can, however, lead to personal injury and property
damage.
Danger of hearing damage
WARNING
Danger as a result of extreme sound
levels!
Loud music can lead to hearing damage.
Avoid extreme sound levels, especially over long
periods of time, when you are using these head-
phones.
Accident hazard
WARNING
Danger through impaired perception!
Acoustical warning and indication signals and environmental
noises can sound diff erent when you are wearing these head-
phones. Make y
ourself aware of how these signals deviate
in their sound so that you can recognise the signals in the
corresponding situations.
Do not use the headphones when operating an automobile,
bicycle or in any other situation in which environmental sound
impaired perception could present a danger to yourself or
others.

Handling of batteries
WARNING
Danger from improper use!
For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety
instructions:
Do not throw the batteries into a fi re.
Do not short-circuit the batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge the batteries.
Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking battery
acid can cause permanent damage to the device. Special
caution should be shown when handling damaged or leaking
batteries. Danger from acid burns! Wear protective gloves.
Make sure the batteries are not accessible to children. When
swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
Remove the batteries if you do not intend to use the head-
phones for an extended period of time.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the headphones observe the following safety
information:
Before use check the headphones for visible external damage.
Do not operate damaged or dropped headphones.

Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by author-
ized qualifi ed persons or by the customer service department.

sons who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities,
are incapable of operating the headphones safely may only use
the headphones under supervision or dir
ection from a responsible
person.
Only permit children to use the headphones when properly su-
pervised.

s to the headphones should only be carried out by author-
ized qualifi ed persons or by the customer service department.
Incorrect r
epairs can result in danger for the user. In addition war-
ranty claims become void.
A repair to the headphones, during the warranty period, may only
be carried out by a customer service department authorized by
the manufacturer other
wise no additional warranty claims can be
considered for subsequent damage.
Defective components may only be replaced with original replace-
ment parts. Only by using original replacement parts can you
guarantee that the safet
y requirements are complied with.
Do not undertake any unauthorised reconstruction or modifi cations
to the headphones.
Protect the headphones fr
om moisture and liquid penetration.
Do not use the headphones in the vicinity of open fl ames.

risk of suff ocation!

The headphones are delivered with the following components as

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the headphones from transport damage. The
packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their en-
vironmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore
recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves
on raw material and reduces generated waste. Dispose of
packaging material that is no longer needed according to
the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible preserve the device's original packaging during
the warranty period so that in the case of a warranty claim
you can pack
age the headphones properly for return.
Inserting the batteries
The headphones battery compartment

. To insert the batteries proceed as follows:
Make sure that the on/off switch

OFF-Position (off ).
Open the battery compartment

by pressing
on the locking mechanism and at the same time
swing out the cover.
Remove the depleted batteries and place 2 new
type AAA batteries into the battery compartment

. Be sure to insert the batteries with the correct
polarity.
Close the battery compartment

by placing
the cover in position and allowing the locking
mechanism to engage.

Putting on the headphones
When putting on the headphones observe the indicators "R" (Right)
and "L" (Left) on the side of the ear caps

Set the adjustable headband

in such a way that the head-
phones are sitting comfortably on your head and the ear caps
cover the ears.
Listening to music with reduced sound
You can connect the headphones to a number of playback devices
(i.e. CD, DVD, MP3 players, HiFi systems, PC's and laptops) or to an
airplane entertainment system.
To listen to music without disturbing background noises proceed as
follows:
Connect one end of the connection cable

Connect the other end to the socket on the playback device.
NOTICE
To connect the headphones to an airplane entertainment sys-
tem use the supplied airplane adapter

Switch the playback device on and set the volume to the mini-
mum.

assistance of the volume control

Sound reduction only
If you want to use the headphones for sound reduction only proceed
as follows:
Slide the on/off switch

on the left ear cap in the "ON"
direction. The battery indicator

Put on the headphones as described in the paragraph "Putting

NOTICE
For mere sound reduction operation the following applies:
The mute switching must be deactivated, that is to say
, the
PLAY/MUTE button

on the left ear cap of the head-
phones is engaged (counter-sunk).
The connection cable is not necessary.
The volume control has no infl uence on the sound reduction it
is only used to control the audio source.
Switching to mute
With the mute switching you can carry on conversations without re-
moving the headphones. For this proceed as follows:
While you are listening to music press the PLAY/MUTE button

on the left ear cap of the headphones.
The audio input signal is interrupted and thus allows for a brief conver-
sation without removing the headphones.

Changing the batteries
The battery indicator

does not light up so bright when the battery
voltage decreases. Insert new batteries as described in the chapter
"Inserting batteries".
Storing the headphones
The headphones are equipped with revolving and pivoting ear caps in
order to fold them together and make storage easier.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the headphones!
Turning the ear caps in the wr
ong direction can damage the
headphones.
To fold the headphones together proceed as follows:
First turn both ear caps

inwards so that
they lay fl at.
Then pivot both ear caps +

into the head
band.
Now you can store the headphones together with the accessories in
the protective case.

Troubleshooting
Safety instructions
WARNING
To avoid danger and property damage observe the following
safety instructions:
Repairs to electronic devices may only be carried out by spe-
cialists who have been trained by the manufacturer. Consider-
able danger to the consumer and damage to the headphones
can occur as a result of incorr
ect repairs.

The following table will help with localizing and remedying minor
malfunctions:

Clean the exterior surfaces of the headphones with a slightly
dampened cloth.

Store the headphones in a dry environment.
Disposal of the headphones
Under no circumstances should you throw
the headphones into the normal household
waste. These headphones fall under the Euro-
pean directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the headphones via an approved disposal fa-
cility or via your community disposal centre. Observe the
currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please
contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposing of the batteries
Do not dispose of the batteries with household waste. Each consumer
is legally obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection centre in his
community / district or at a retail company. This obligation is intended
to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally safe
fashion. Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.

You receive a 3 year warranty on the headphones from the date of
purchase. These headphones have been manufactured with care and
meticulously examined before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty
claim, please get in touch, by telephone, with our service department.
Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

NOTICE
The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing
defects, not for transport damage, wear and tear or for damage
to fragile components, e.g. switches or r
echargeable batteries.
These headphones are for private use only and are not intended for
commercial applications. The warranty is void in the case of abusive
and improper handling, use of force and internal modifi cations not
carried out by our authorized Service Centre.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
The warranty period is not extended through repairs made under war-
ranty. This applies also for replaced or repaired parts.
Any damages or defi ciencies found on purchase must be reported as
soon as possible after unpacking, at the latest two days after purchase.
On expiry of the warranty, all repairs carried out are subject to payment.
