INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND
THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING YOU NEW AIR CLEANER
CATALOG #1002
MODEL: Pro-Flo Re-usable air filter with 5-1/8" neck and bridge
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: On air filters for most 4-bbl. carbs, the hold-down bracket supplied in this kit must be bent in the
center to fit snugly inside of the carb opening (see Figure 1). Bracket must be positioned to clear carburetor choke linkage. For carbure-
tors with tall bowl vent tubes, it may be necessary to purchase Edelbrock air cleaner spacer #8093. Vent tube to air cleaner clearance
should be no less than 1/8". CAUTION: Top of carburetor stud must be completely through nylon lock nut to prevent lock nut from com-
ing loose and cause damage to engine. If nut is removed from carburetor stud, it must be replaced with a new nut (see Figure 1).
MAINTENANCE: This exclusive urethane foam element retains its high filtering efficiency when washed at 2000 mile intervals.
Geographic location and/or vehicle usage may require more frequent cleaning. Simply remove filter by releasing one spring clip, then
wash in hot soapy water.Allow element to dry, then re-assemble. When needed, replacement filters (Edelbrock #1099) are available
through your dealer.
