WARNING
Perform the safety shutdown test any time work is done on a gas system to avoid the possibility
of re or explosion with property damage, personal injury or loss of life.

Intermittent Pilot System
1. Switch main switch to “OFF” position. Main burner and pilot should go off.
2. Pilotgasowshouldstopwithin30seconds.
3. Relightpilotburnerandoperatesystemthroughonecompletecycletomakesureallcontrolsoperateproperly.

supplytoreplacebeforemakinggasconversion.
2. Removebottompanel,grasppanel,liftandpullforward.
3. Releasetwoglassframespringclampsatbottomofrebox.
4. Removeglassframeassembly.
5. Removelogsfromburnerassembly.
6. Removetwo10x1/2"screwsfromrearlogsupport.Remove
log support.
7. Ifapplicable,removelinersandburnercover.
8. Removefour10x1/2"screwsfromburner.Graspburner,lift
andpulltotherighttoremoveburnerassembly.
9. Usea3/8"and7/16"wrenchtoremoveburnerorice.
10. RemovePropane(LP)Gasmainburneroricefromorice

14. InsertAppropriate Natural Gas pilot injector orice into
pilot burner.
15. Re-installgaslinetothepilot.
16. Convert the gas valve as instructed in S.I.T. Natural Gas
Valve Conversion Kit.
17. Adjustairshuttersettingto1/4" Open on all models.
18. Alignburnerassemblywiththeairshutterasyouplace
burnerassemblyintotheoriginalpositioninrebox.
19. Attachburnerassemblywithfour10x1/2"screwsfromStep8.
20. Attachrearlogsupportwith(2)10x1/2"screwsfromStep7.
21. Theconvertedreplacemustbeconnectedtoasupplyof
theconversiongasandcheckedforleaksatallconnections.

VERIFYING INPUT RATE OF CONVERTED FIREPLACE
Theinputofthereplacemustbecheckedasfollows:
1.Turnoffallothergasappliances.Clockthegasmeterand
determine the number of seconds required to consume one
cubic foot of gas.
2.3600÷time(inseconds)=cu.Ft.perhour.
3.Thencu.Ft.perhourxheatingvalueofgas=inputrate
(Btuh).Oninstallationwithoutgasmeters,checkmanifold
for proper pressure.
Ifreplaceisnotinstalledorwarrantycardhasnotbeenreturned
toEmpireComfortSystems,Inc.,checkofftypeofgasconverted
tooncard.Also,indicateconversionbyadding“Conv.”behind
typeofgas.
