How can we make the recording and streaming at best performance?
1. Please make sure your PC for recording and streaming meets the configuration
requirement.
System: Windows 10 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 7 (SPl)/Linux/MacOS X 10.9 above
Desktop PC: Intel Core i5-3400 3.20 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 or above Notebook: Intel Core
i7>4810MQ + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 735QM or above
2. The version of the OBS or other software should be the same generation as your system. If use a
windows 7 and install a OBS for windows 10, it will not work. It same as Mac OS, lower OS system but
higher software will cause issue.
3. If you are a steamer, please don’t keep on record at all the times during the streaming. It often
causes the streaming not smooth.
4. Don’t choose YUY2 as the video format. If you choose it, you may cannot get the video or it is
extremely lag. YUY2 is closed to the real color and make use of less CPU/GPU, but requires a powerful
USB capture, normally we recommend the panoraxy USB 3.0 FHD60S models.
5. Video Setting, if you want the best video quality you can set it highest. But it requires your PC is good
enough to handle it. Sometimes, change the resolution from 1920*1080 to lower resolutions even
get better results than 1080P. Cause when set at high resolutions, the PC can not handle or the cloud
for streaming can not handle, they just reduce frames or samples.
Lower the resolution but set the Downscale filter at highest, sometimes you can get better results.
6. There are two options for the Encoder, you can use choose Software or Hardware to try. If you PC is
fine, software is clear. If your PC is a bit weak, please choose hardware as the Encoder. Hardware will
compress the video, and normally video is not good as PC. But the PC is too weak, the result will be
worse. Adjust according to your really application.
Recording quality, you can choose the level according to your need. Lossless quality is best, but it will
make sure of the CPU and GPU both most.
7. Monitor the CPU and GPU
If when you do recording, and CPU used more than 50%, normally you will not get smooth video. You
need a good PC which can handle the recording within 30%. A good GPU can works upto 80-90%, only
use 20% doesn’t means the GPU is good.
8. If sometimes the video input from other PC or device is not detected by the OBS, you can deactivate
or active the device in the OBS before you remove and restart the both device.
Please kindly try and let us know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Sammy
