TheSmartSetAppoffersagraphicalalternativetoonboardprogrammingyourKinesiskeyboard.For

yourconvenience,aWindowsversionoftheAppispre‐loadedonnewer

Advantage2keyboardsandcan

berundirectlyfromthekeyboard’sv‐Drive.

ToaccesstheSmartSetApp,simplyenablePowerUserMode(Program+Shift+Esc),connectthev‐

Drive(Program+F1),navigatetothe“KINESISKB”removabledriveinFile Explorer,andlaunchtheApp.

 Non‐USusers:TheSmartSetApprequiresthatyourcomputeris

runningtheUSkeyboarddriver.

 TheSmartSetAppisnotcompatiblewithearlierversionsoftheAdvantagemodelkeyboards

(KB500)whichusingadifferentprogrammingengine.

AppfromtheHelpmenuinside

theApp.

NEW:DESKTOPMODE

Version1.2.2andlateroftheAppcanberunfromdirectlyfromyourPC.Simplyconnectthev‐Drive

(Program+F1)andthelaunchtheAppfromanyfolderonyourPC.Whenyouarefinishedusingthe

App,saveyourchanges,closethe

App,ejectthev‐DriveinyourOS,andusetheonboardshortcutto

disconnectthev‐Drivetoreturntonormalkeyboardoperatingmode.



1. DownloadthelatestWindowsversionoftheSmartSetAppfortheAdvantage2here:

https://kinesis‐ergo.com/support/advantage2/#smartset‐app.

2. LocatethedownloadedApponyourPC(whereverdownloadsaresaved)andunzipifnecessary.

MovetheApptoaconvenientfolderonyourPCforeasyaccess.

3. EnablePowerUserMode(Program+Shift+Esc),connectthev‐Drive(Program+F1)sotheApp

canread/write

tothekeyboard,andthenlaunchtheApp.

v‐DriveMode

1. IfyouprefertoruntheAppdirectlyfromthev‐Drive,connectthekeyboard’sv‐Driveusingthe

onboardshortcut(Program+F1).Thenlocatethe“KINESISKB”removabledriveinFileExplorer.

2. Tomakeroom

onthev‐DriveforthenewversionoftheApp,youmayneedtodeleteolder

versionsbymovingthemtotheRecycleBin.Note:Yourcustomconfigurationsettingsarestored

separatelysodeletingtheSmartSetAppwillnotleadtodataloss.

3. LocatethedownloadedApponyourPC(whereverdownloadsaresaved)andunzipifnecessary.

4. CopyandpastethenewversionoftheSmartSetAppfromyourPCtothe“KINESISKB”

removabledriveinthetoplevelofthefolder(donotcopyittoanyofthe

subfolders).

5. Optional:DeletetheAppfromyourPC

OncethenewversionoftheApphasbeencopiedtothev‐Drive,youcanlaunchitfromthereanytime

youwanttocustomprogramyourdevicebyconnectingthev‐Driv e(Program+F1).

TROUBLESHOOTING

 Ifthereisnotroomonthev‐DrivetocopythenewversionoftheApp,deletetheoldversion

andthenemptyyourtrash.

 IftheAppcannotfindcertainconfigurationfiles,makesureitwascopiedtothetoplevelofthe

v‐Driveand

notintoanyofthesubfolders.

 Ifyouaccidentallydeleteanotherfile/folderonthev‐Drive,donotworry.Youcanre‐plugthe

keyboardtoregeneratethosefiles.

 IfyouarerunningtheAppinDesktopmode,besuretoconnectanddisconnectthev‐Drive

before

andaftereachuse.
