grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna dis-

charge unit, size of grounding conductors, loca-

tion of antenna-discharge unit, connection to

grounding electrodes, and requirements for the

grounding electrode.

15.Power Lines. An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or

other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an

outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as

contact with them might be fatal.

16. Overloading. Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can

result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

17. Servicing. Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you

to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

18. Damage Requiring Service. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified

service personnel under the following conditions:

hWhen the power-supply cord or plug is damaged,

Preparation

Pixel defects:

LCDs use collections of fine points (“pixels”) to display images. While there is no problem with more then 99.99%

of these pixels, please understand that a very small number of pixels may not light, or may light all the time.

Distance recommendations:

Avoid improper installation and never position the unit where good ventilation is impossible. When

installing this TV, distance recommendations must be maintained between the set and the wall, as well

as inside a tightly enclosed area or piece of furniture. Keep to the minimum distance guidelines shown

for safe operation.

Cleaning the screen:

The screen is coated with a special thin film to reduce reflection. If this film is damaged, uneven colors,

discoloration, scratches, and other problems that cannot be repaired may occur. Pay attention to the

following when handling the screen.

hDo not use glue or adhesive tape on the screen.

hDo not write on the screen.

hDo not allow the screen to come in contact with any hard objects.

hDo not allow condensation to form on the screen.

hDo not use alcohol, thinner, benzene or other solvents on the screen.

hDo not rub the screen hard.

CAUTION:

hOperate only from the power source specified (AC 120V, 60 Hz) on the unit.

hAvoid damaging the AC plug and cord

h When you are not using this unit for a long period of time, it is recommended that you disconnect the power

cord from the main outlet.

POWER CORD CONNECTION:

Connect the power cord, after completing all other connections.

1. Connect the power cord to this device.

2. Connect the power cord to the power outlet. (The type of plug is

different from this drawing for some countries.)

Thank you for choosing our 37” LCD TV. We designed the product with the aim to make it one of

the world’s best, bringing the best display technology and viewing experience to you.

Your LCD TV has six types of standard video

connections. You should capitalize on the best

connection available from your LCD TV to get

the best display quality. For example, if you have

a progressive DVD player that supports a com-

ponent video connection, you should connect the

DVD player to your LCD TV using component

video connections instead of composite video or

S-video.

Connecting Component Video

To connect your HDTV set-top-box decoder using component video:

1. Connect the green Y jack on the back on your HDTV set-top-box to the green HDTV

Y jack on the back of your LCD TV.

2. Connect the red Pr/Cr jack on the back of your HDTV set-top-box to the red Pr/Cr

jack on the back of your LCD TV.

3. Connect the blue Pb/Cb jack on the back of your HDTV set-top box to the blue Pb/Cb

jack on the back of your LCD TV.

4. Press the “Source” button of the remote control to display the OSD setup menu to

select “Component 1.”

Note:

1. If you connect your HDTV set-top-box to Component input (2), then select “compo-

nent 2” in the OSD setup menu.

2. Both component input 1 and component input 2 support 720p/1080i feed from HDTV

set-top-boxes.

3. If you have a progressive scan DVD player that supports component video output, you

can connect the DVD player to your LCD TV via component the connection as illus-

trated aboves.

Connecting S-video or Composite Video

This section shows you how to connect devices to your LCD TV to the S-video and

composite video inputs. Most devices like VCRs, camcorders, non-progressive scan

DVD players, etc; only provide composite video output or S-video output. The steps

below are to show you how to connect two devices simultaneously.

1. Connect the S-video on the back of your camcorder to the S-video under AV2 Input

jack.

2. Connect the audio red (R) and white (L) on the back of camcorder to the audio red (R)

and white (L) jacks on the back of your LCD TV.

3. Connect the yellow video jack on the back of your VCR to the yellow composite

video input jack on the back of your LCD TV under AV1 Input.

4. Connect the red (R) and white (L) audio jacks on the back of your VCR to the second-

ary audio red and white (L) jacks on the back of your LCD TV.

5. Press the “Source” button on the remote control to display the OSD setup menu and

choose “AV 1” to display video from the VCR or choose “AV2” to display video from

the camcorder.

RGB

1. If you wish to connect a PC to the LCD TV, connect the 15-pin D sub RGB connector on

your PC to the RGB-in jack on the back of your LCD TV.

2. Connect the audio out jack on your PC to the RCA audio input on the back of your

LCD TV.

3. Press the “Source” button on the remote control to display the OSD set up menu and

select “RGB”.

4. You may configure your PC’s VGA resolution to output optimized resolution to your

LCD TV.

Connecting to DVI or RGB

DVI

1. Connect the DVI connector on your set-top-box to the DVI-D input on the back of

your LCD TV.

2. Connect the audio cables to the RCA audio input on the back of your LCD TV.

3. Make sure you configure your set-top-box to output the video in DVI-D mode.

4. Press the “Source” button on the remote control to display the OSD setup menu and

select “DVI”.

The control buttons are located beneath the LCD TV. Refer to the following table to

understand the control button functions.

Understand your remote control first

It is always important to read through this section first to learn how to use your remote control

especially if you are about to enter the OSD menu to setup the configuration.

The table below explains each button’s function in the TV’s operation mode.

Learning how to use your remote control to operate the memory card reader

This section explains to you the button functions to operate the memory card reader.Though some of the

buttons under this function share the same buttons as in the TV operation mode, and only enter the

memory card mode once the memory card mode is selected from the source menu, the software will

automatically change some of the remote control buttons to support memory card operation.

The 37” LCD TV built-in photo memory card readers allows you to display your photos on our advanced

large size LCD display. It supports most digital camera formats and FAT formatted JPEG image files.

Functions:

- Supports up to 6 million pixel resolution.

- Supports CF I/CF II/SM/MS/SD/MMC Memory card standard.

- Mulit-language support: English/Chinese/Japanese/German/Italian/Spanish

- Slide Show function Preview 16 photos at once.

It is recommended that you read through the following icon descriptions. These will

help to get a quick start and understand the OSD menu.

Setting (TV)

Operation:

1. Press the “MENU” button on the remote

control to display the main OSD setup

menu as pictured below.

Tuning to off-air programs via antenna or analog cable TV

Note: You don’t have to go to the

above setup to scan channels if you

are using a Direct TV set-top -box or

digital cable set-top-box.

5. Select the “Enter” option and then key

in 000000 (default password). Press the

“OK” button to confirm. It is impor-

tant to unlock this Content Blocking

by typing six zeros first. Once zeros are

all keyed in, both Movie and Program

Rating icons on the top menu bar will

be activated.

6. Navigate to the (

) icon and (

) icon to view the rating system. Use

or to navigate the rating icons.

Press the “OK” button to enable the

blocking. Once the rating icon is

activated, the new icon face will appear.

Press the “OK” button again to disable

the blocking.

Belows are the descriptions of ratings

supported by the 37” LCD TV.

Operation:

1. Press “MENU” from the remote con-

trol to display the main OSD setup

menu.

Note: The rating system is based on

the Motion Picture Association of

America’s (MPAA) specificatons

and its main application is for

movies. When the rating icon is acti-

vated and programmed, the LCD TV

will automatically block any televised

programs or movies that are embed-

ded with objectionable ratings.

7. Select the “Change” option to change

the pin numbers from 000000 to a new

pin number.

How to block unwanted channels or movies

Content Blocking is a feature that blocks unwanted channels by setting up a pin

number.
