USING THE SMART JUMPER CABLES
The smart jumper cables included with this kit come with safety
features to protect and inform the user during use. The smart
jumper cables come with a control box (A) Fig.3 which has an LED
indicator light (B) which indicates the following situations;
Red LED: Cables are connected, not ready to jumpstart.
Green LED: Ready to jumpstart a vehicle battery (hold side button
(C) 3 seconds).
GREEN WARNING FLASHES:
Three green flashes: Reverse charging protection. The vehicle's
battery voltage is higher than the jump starter while jump starting
a vehicle. This is harmful to the jump starter when it is being
charged by the vehicle's battery.
RED WARNING FLASHES:
One red flash: Reverse polarity protection. Reverse clamps.
Two red flashes: Short circuit protection.
Four red flashes: Over discharge protection. Protects the battery when the power is lower than 20%.
Five red flashes: Overheating protection. Temperature of jump starter cables has reached 80
0
C. This is harmful
to the jump starter and the clamps, this is caused by constantly attempting to jumpstart a vehicle in a short
amount of time.
JUMPSTARTING A VEHICLE
WARNING! It is extremely important to follow the
instructions on this page or you risk causing damage or
explosion. Before using this Jump Starter, read and
understand all instructions included in this manual also
those published by your vehicle’s battery manufacturer
and the manual of any other device intended to be used
with this Jump Starter. Failure to follow all listed
instructions may result in electric shock, fire,
and/or serious personal injury.
1) Turn off the vehicle ignition and all accessories (radios,
lights, air conditioners), and disconnect electronic
devices.
2) Set the emergency brake and put vehicles with automatic transmission in park position.
3) Determine the polarity of the vehicle’s battery terminals. The positive (+) battery terminal (A) Fig.3 is normally
red and larger in diameter than the black negative (−) terminal (B). If you are unsure, refer to the vehicle
owner’s manual. CAUTION: Never allow clamps (positive & negative clamps) to touch together or contact the
same piece of metal to prevent short-circuits and arcing.
4) Insert the jumper cable plug (C) into the jumper cable terminal (D).
5) Securely connect the positive (+) red clamp (E) to the positive (+) terminal (A) of the vehicle battery.
6) Securely connect the negative (−) black clamp (F) to an unpainted metal surface on the engine. Find an
unpainted bolt or bracket that is as far from the dead battery as possible. This will provide a solid ground while
further reducing the possibility of igniting any hydrogen gas.
7) Place Jump Starter on a secure surface away from moving parts.
8) Press and hold smart cable box switch (G) for approx. 3 seconds until the LED indicator light (H) turns green.
9) Start vehicle engine. Stop if the vehicle doesn’t start after 3 seconds of engine cranking. Wait 3 to 4 minutes,
then try again. If engine does not start after second attempt, discontinue and consult a mechanic to determine
the problem.
10) After engine starts, disconnect the negative (-) black clamp (F) first, then the positive (+) red clamp (E), and
lastly, the jumper cable plug (C) from the jumper cable terminal (D).
