USING THE IRON
Before rst use, remove all packaging materials including promotion stickers and labels from the iron. Wipe the
soleplate A10 with alightly dampened cloth before rst use and then wipe dry.
Make sure that the temperature control A9 is set to minimum and that the iron is disconnected from the power
socket.
1. FILLING THE WATER TANK
Before lling the water tank, check that the temperature control A9 is set to minimum and that the steam
emission control A5 is set to position
. This will deactivate the steam emission function.
Press button A6 and at the same time lift the handle A2 all the way. After lifting the handle A2 release button A6.
This will lock the handle A2.
Put the iron down into ahorizontal position and tilt open the lling opening cap A3. Pour water into the water
tank through the lling opening. The water level must not exceed the maximum mark on the water tank.
Do not ll the water tank directly underneath awater tap. Use acontainer with aspout to ll the water tank.
Use tap water (soft to medium water hardness). We recommend mixing hard or very hard water (over 14 °dH /
2.5mmol/l) with distilled water at aratio of 1:1.
Attention:
Never add water softeners, perfumes or other additives to the water.
After lling the water tank, close the lling opening cap A3 and put the iron in the upright position.

2. SETTING THE MAINS VOLTAGE SWITCH
Prior to connecting the iron to apower socket, the slider switch A7 must always be set to the voltage corresponding
to the voltage in the power socket to which you wish to connect the iron.
3. CONNECTING TO A POWER SOCKET AND SETTING THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL DIAL
Place the iron in the upright position on an even and stable surface and connect the power cord A1 to apower
socket.
Set the temperature control A9 according to the type of fabric that you wish to iron, see chapter Preparation
before ironing. The indicator light A8 will turn on. This signals that the soleplate A10 is heating up. When the
soleplate A10 heats up to the set temperature, the indicator light A8 will turn o. Now you may commence
ironing your laundry.
During rst use, aweak cracking sound caused by the expanding plastic may be heard. This is an entirely normal
event, which will disappear in ashort time.
While ironing, the indicator light A8 will intermittently turn on and o. This indicates that the set temperature is
being maintained.
First iron the laundry that requires the lowest temperature. This will save you time because the soleplate A10
heats up faster than it cools down.
If you iron some fabrics requiring ahigher temperature and then set alower temperature, it is necessary to wait
until the soleplate A10 cools down.
To prevent damaging its surface, do not move the soleplate A10 over sharp or hard items such as buttons or zips.
4. STEAM FUNCTION
The continuous steam function can be used when the water tank is lled with water. If you wish to iron with
steam, temperature must be set in the range from ●● to ●●●. Moving the steam emission control A5 toward
the symbol
, variably increases the steam emission and vice versa. Setting the steam emission control A5 to
position , deactivates the steam function.
In the event that the steam function is set at the same time as the temperature control A9 is set to low temperature
, water may drip out of the soleplate A10.
Note:
The iron continuously emits steam only if you hold it in ahorizontal position. You can stop the release of
steam by standing the iron upright.
Attention:
Do not use the steam function for silk and synthetics so as not to damage the fabric.
5. STEAM IMPULSE FUNCTION
Press the steam impulse button A4 to generate astronger ow of steam, which can straighten out even crumpled
up textiles.
Only use the steam impulse function when the temperature control A9 is set to temperature ●●●. In order to use
this function, the water tank must be lled with water. If indicator light A8 turns on, wait until it turns o and only
then press the button A4. Wait at least 5seconds before pressing button A4 again.
The steam impulse function can also be used for vertical ironing, i.e. when ironing textiles hanging on coat
hangers, etc.
Attention:
Do not use the steam impulse function on silk and synthetics in order not to damage the fabric.
6. AT END OF USE
When you have nished using the iron, stand it upright and set the steam emission control A5 to position
. This
will deactivate the steam function. Set the temperature control A9 to minimum and disconnect the power cord
A1 from the power socket and allow the soleplate A10 to cool down. After the soleplate A10 has cooled down,
clean the iron according to the instructions in chapter Cleaning and maintenance.

TIPS FOR QUALITY IRONING
If you are ironing fabrics from blended materials (e.g. 40 % wool and 60 % synthetic material), set the temperature
control A9 according to the material that is ironed at alower temperature.
If you do not know the composition of the fabric, identify the suitable temperature control A9 setting by ironing
apiece of the fabric from the underside. Start by setting the temperature control A9 to alow temperature and
gradually increase it until the ideal temperature is achieved.
Never iron over places that have sweat marks or other stains. The high temperature xes the stain, making it
dicult to remove.
To avoid silk, wool and synthetic fabrics from being shiny after ironing, iron them from the underside.
Some materials are easier to iron when they are lightly damp.
Spray ne fabrics before ironing them or iron them under alightly dampened wiping cloth.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, make sure that the steam emission control A5 is set to position and the temperature control
A9 is set to minimum. The power cord A1 must be disconnected from the power socket and the soleplate A10
must be cool.
Open the lling opening cap A3 and then empty out the water tank over akitchen or bathroom sink. Close the
cap A3 again.
In the event that the soleplate A10 or the surface of the iron is dirty, wipe with alightly dampened cloth and then
wipe dry.
For cleaning, do not use steel wool, solvents or cleaning products with an abrasive eect, etc. to prevent damaging
the surface being cleaned. When cleaning, do not submerge the iron in water or other liquids, not even partially.
STORAGE
Store the iron in adry, clean place out of the reach of children.
Prior to storage, we recommend folding down the handle A2. To do this, push down button A6 while at the same
time folding down the handle A2. After folding down the handle A2 release button A6.
