January 27, 2005 – Supplement 7 of Change Notice 1336B is being issued to extend the Expiration Date to
December 31, 2005 to allow remaining customers to receive this update.
January 8, 2004 – Supplement 6 of Change Notice 1336B is being issued to extend the Expiration Date to
December 31, 2004 to allow remaining customers to receive this update.
Supplement 5 is being issued to extend the Expiration Date of Change Notice 1336B.
The Expiration Date of Change Notice 1336B is now extended to December 31, 2003 to allow remaining
customers to receive this update.
Supplement 4 of Quality Protection Plan Change Notice 1336B is being issued to add the BCMS VU
software patch 1.
The information provided in Supplement 4 should take precedence over the Application, Reason
for Change, and Coordination sections of the original QPPCN and Supplements 1- 3. Listed below
are the complete, updated APPLICATION, REASON FOR CHANGE and COORDINATION sections:
APPLICATION
Note! This Change Notice supercedes Change Notice 1261B.
This Quality Protection Plan Change Notice is being issued to Release 2 Version 3.2, plus software patch,
for BCMS Vu Release 2 Version 2.0 or later customers under warranty or software maintenance, in
order to correct the issues described in the REASON FOR CHANGE section. This Change Notice is

customer installable and service interrupting. Tier III or Center of Excellence (COE) approval is
required.
Note! This Change Notice only applies to BCMS Vu R2 V2 or later customers. Qualified customers
must have on their system Release 2 Version 3.1 or 3.2 before then can install the software patch.
Order software CD (material ordering code 700186315) in order to update to R2. V3.2.
Customers can install this software themselves, however technical assistance will be available for those
requesting it. Refer to the COORDINATION section for patch details. Technical assistance for non-US
BusinessPartners will be provided by the ITAC/GSO or the Regional Center of Excellence (CoE).
Technical assistance for US customers will be handled by the TSO.
Note! This Change Notice does not apply to BCMS Vu Release 1, Release 2 Version 1 customers,
and all customers not under BCMS Vu software warranty or maintenance. These customers must
contact their Account Managers to purchase an upgrade to BCMS Vu Release 2 Version 3.2.
U.S. Direct: The Technical Service Organization (TSO) will coordinate this Change Notice and will
provide normal escalation support to customers.
U.S. Indirect: Authorized Dealers or Distributors will contact the BusinessPartner/TSO Dedicated
Support (1-877-295-0099), prompt 1 to request this update.
Non-U.S.: The International Technical Assistance Center/Global Support Organization (ITAC/GSO)
Change Notice Administration Groups will coordinate this Change Notice and will provide normal

REASON FOR CHANGE
Listed below is the problem now fixed in the BCMS Vu downloadable software patch:

Real-time and Historical reports do not work properly with DEFINITY® Server R, SI, and CSI products
that are installed with DEFINITY® Release 10 software provisioned as Release 9 or lower, configured
for a non-EAS environment, and have the "BCMS/VuStats LoginIDs" field set to yes.
Listed below are fixes in R2V3.2:
Real-time and Historical reports do not work properly with MultiVantage™ (MV) 1.1 and higher
configured for EAS.
Overflowed column data displayed as ****.** on the switch is stored in the BCMS Vu database
incorrectly as 1092:15.
Listed below are fixes in R2V3.1 and later.
Real-time and Historical reports do not work properly with DEFINITY Release 10 and higher when set
for non-EAS and with "BCMS/VuStats LoginIDs" field turned to yes.
Customers with AdvaTel* wallboards that exhibit occasional glitches. (Note: AdvaTel Wallboard
Firmware needs to be upgraded to V1.00i.01).

After Tier III approval, qualified customers will receive software CD (material ordering code 700186315)
if they need to update to R2. V3.2. Qualified customers then must call the TSO to receive the software
patch if needed.
DEFINITY Release 10:
When BCMS VU, DEFINITY® Release 9 customers upgrade to R10, they must call in to the Technical
Service Organization to receive the BCMS VU r2v3.2 patch 1 in order to correct problems identified in
the REASON FOR CHANGE section.
This patch is available only to Avaya? employees on the Avaya internal network on -

LINUX Platforms:
Required: S8300 and S8700 Media Servers installed with MultiVantage 1.1 must also have the
01.0.060.4-0016 (or later) MultiVantage software patch. This patch will be available at the
http://support.avaya.com website under "Software Downloads" for the appropriate products. For more

LEGACY Platforms:
DEFINITY Server R, SI, and CSI products that are installed with MultiVantage 1.1 must obtain a field
trial load as follows:
Open a MAESTRO trouble ticket for the "g3ftt4" box through normal escalation procedures. In
the ticket specify:
1. The current load they are on (R011x.01.0.060.4 for MV 1.1)
2. The load they wish to upgrade to (R011x.01.0.065.1)
3. The platform (e.g., G3r, si, csi, D1, IP600)
4. Media (e.g., MO for G3r, flash for si, etc.)
5. Whether the system is simplex or duplex
6. The Avaya Field Technician shipping information including phone number. This cannot be
a P.O. Box, it must be a valid address.

Wait until the MV1.1.2 load is available as a QPPCN. The MV 1.1.2 QPPCN numbers are the

REASON FOR CHANGE
BCMS VU R2V3.0.0 provides fixes for the problems:
Downloads occasionally hang on sites with data modules. Problem only seen on PCs running the Windows NT*
Server operating system.
In reports using Japanese characters, printing format exceeds A4 size page width.
COORDINATION
Coordination with any other Change Notice is not required.
