When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be
followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,

Fully assemble before operating.
Operate vacuum only at voltage specified on data plate on bottom of cleaner.
Do not leave vacuum when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and
before cleaning or servicing.
Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children age 12 and under.
Close supervision is necessary when used near children. To avoid injury or damage,
keep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other
objects into any openings.
Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended
attachments and products.
Do not use with damaged power cord or plug. If vacuum is not working as it should,
has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have the product
inspected by an Authorized Oreck
®
Service Center prior to continuing use. Call
1-800-989-3535 for the nearest service center or visit our website at
www.oreck.com.
Do not pull or carry by power cord, use cord as handle, close a door on cord, or pull
cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum over cord. Keep cord away
from heated surfaces.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not handle plug or vacuum with wet hands.
Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep
free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and
moving parts. Brushroll continues to operate when in the upright position.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not place vacuum on stairs or furniture,
as it may result in injury or damage.

Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or fine
wood sandings or use in areas where they may be present.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches,
or hot ashes.
Do not use without inner filtration bag in place.
WARNING: This product contains chemicals, known to the State
of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
WASH HANDS AFTER USING.
CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF
DAMAGE:
Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product, as they may cause damage.
Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose machine to freezing
temperatures.
Brushroll continues to rotate while product is turned on and handle is in the upright
position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs and flooring, avoid tipping vacuum or
setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs or carpeted stairs.
With brushroll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period
of time, as damage to floor can result.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, this vacuum
has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will t in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician to
install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Operation — Assembling your Elevate

Make sure Upper Tube Connector (A) is installed
on Upper Tube (B). 2
Insert Upper Tube into the top of Debris Transfer Tube (C)
until it locks in place.

Twist Upper Tube Connector (A) clockwise until it clicks to
secure Upper Tube (B).

Operation — Using Your Elevate
1
Make sure the ltration bag (A) is attached
properly to the ltration bag dock (B).
Attachment instructions are located on the
ltration bag and in the maintenance section
of this manual. Your vacuum comes with a
bag preinstalled for your convenience. Do not
operate without a bag.

Step on the (A) power head and pull handle
back to lower into operating position. Return
handle to full upright position to engage
lock. Do not operate vacuum while in the
upright and locked position.

Push ngertip controls on the handle
forward into the “ON” position to turn on.
Push controls backward into the “OFF
position to turn off.
Please read “Important Safety Instructions” before use.

Wrap Power Cord around Power Cord Release
Hook (A) and the Carry Handle (B) as shown for
convenient storage. Use the clip on the plug (C)
to attach the plug end to the power cord. Raise
the carry handle for easy lifting and carrying.
Lower the carry handle during other use to
eliminate obstructions.

Twist the power cord release hook to either side
to quickly unwrap the power cord for use.

WITHOUT INNER FILTRATION BAG IN PLACE.
CAUTION VERY FINE MATERIALS, SUCH AS FACE POWDER OR
CORNSTARCH MAY SEAL THE INNER FILTRATION BAG AND CAUSE IT TO
BURST EVEN THOUGH IT IS ONLY PARTIALLY FULL. CHANGE THE BAG OFTEN
WHEN CLEANING THIS TYPE OF MATERIAL.
Maintenance — Changing the Filtration Bag

Unzip the Filtration Bag Case
completely.

Pull the cardboard collar on the ltration
bag downward to release the bag dock
from the dock port.

Gently pull the cardboard collar on
the ltration bag up to engage the
SaniSeal
®
lock and remove from the
bag dock. Discard.

OPERATION
Your Elevate
vacuum includes a ltration bag equipped with the SaniSeal
®
System. SaniSeal
®
automatically locks in allergens, dirt and debris each time
you change the bag.

Slide a new ltration bag collar rmly
into the bag dock ensuring all hooks
on dock door are inserted on the
cardboard collar.

Rotate bag dock up and press
rmly on the ltration bag at
indicated points until it snaps
into place.

Zip up the ltration bag
case completely.
CHANGING THE DISPOSABLE FILTRATION BAG
IMPORTANT NOTE
To keep your Elevate
vacuum running at optimal performance, make sure to change the ltration bag when the contents
reach the MAXIMUM FILL LINE. Overloading may result in loss of air ow suction and decreased performance.

Lay the unit at to access
the power head nozzle.
Remove the 7 screws to take
off the baseplate from the
power head.

Your Oreck
®
unit comes with
the brushroll assembled in the
“NEW” position (multiple
notches showing on top edge).
As the brushroll wears it can be
adjusted for longer life.

Remove the brushroll
belt and brushroll from the
holding channels inside of
the power head nozzle.

When worn, rotate both
plastic black endcaps at the
ends of the brushroll to show
a single notch “OLD” position.
Insert back into the holding
channels of the power head
nozzle.

When rotating the black
endcaps on the brushroll,
make sure both endcap
settings are the same and
faceup when you insert the
brushroll.

Reassemble the brushroll belt.

Section on Checking and
Replacing the Brushroll Belt
for details.

Manually spin the brushroll
to see that it turns freely.

Replace the 7 screws to
secure the baseplate to the
power head nozzle.

Maintenance — Checking and Replacing Brushroll Belt

Lay the unit at to access the
power head nozzle. Remove the 2
screws located on the bottom side
of the service door.

Slide the service door down
and away from the unit to reveal
the (A) brushroll belt.

Remove the brushroll belt from the (A)
motor shaft and (B) brushroll pulley.

CHECKING AND REPLACING BRUSHROLL BELT

Loop the new belt over (A) brushroll
pulley. Place the opposite end of
the belt on the (B) motor shaft.

Replace the service door by
aligning the screw tabs with the
bottom of the power head nozzle.

Replace the 2 screws and tighten.

Maintenance — Clearing Blockages

An overloaded ltration bag may cause
dirt and debris to back up into the air
ow system. Open the bag dock and
check for visible clogs at the bag port.
Change ltration bag if contents have
reached the MAXIMUM FILL LINE.

Also, check for blockages in the power
head nozzle.

If blockage is not in the power head
nozzle, remove the lower tube. Unhook
the case clasp releasing the ltration
bag case.

LUBRICATION
The motor and brushroll are equipped with bearings which contain sufcient lubrication for their lifetime.
The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to motor or brushroll.
CLEARING BLOCKAGES

Twist lower tube connector
counterclockwise and slide up. Pull
the lower tube out of the fan housing.
Once removed, check for blockage.
5
If the lower tube is not blocked, look
into the fan housing for blockage. Be
sure to reassemble lower tube and
tighten the lower tube connector
before continuing use.
