Safety
Position your Video so that no
bright light or sunlight falls
directly onto it.
Care should be taken not to
expose your Video to any
unnecessary vibration, moisture,
dust or heat.
During electrical storms it is
advisable to unplug both the aerial
cable and mains plug to prevent
accidental damage to your Video
and TV.
Do not operate your Video if it is
damaged.
If your Video still does not operate
properly, unplug it and call your
dealer. Your Video should not be
repaired by anyone except
qualified service personnel.
Never remove the top cover of
your Video as this can expose you
to very high voltage and other
hazards.
Ensure that your Video is placed in
a position to allow a free flow of
air.
The apparatus shall not be
exposed to dripping or splashing
and that no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be
placed on the apparatus.
Cleaning
1 Unplug the Video from the mains
supply.
2 Clean the cabinet with a soft
damp cloth, do not apply liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
Never spray cleaning liquids on or
near the Video.
Video head cleaning
High quality video tapes will not
normally deposit dirt onto the video
heads, but old or damaged tapes
may. This dirt can accumulate on the
video heads after a long period of
time and cause the picture to
become blurred or broken up.
To clean the video heads use a video
heads cleaning tape available from
electrical stores.

Connecting to a television
The information given here refers to the most common forms of connection.
However please check with your manufacturer’s instruction books for specific information. Make sure that all the appliances are unplugged
from the mains power, before making any connections to avoid causing damage to your equipment.

Connection guide
Connecting a video using
Audio/Video cable is one of the best
ways to achieve optimum sound and
picture quality from video-tape
playback (Recommended). If you own
a TV with AV input sockets you will
be able to enjoy it; you will be unable
to enjoy this facility if you connected
just using a normal RF cable.
Roof aerial
Your outside aerial should be
connected to the AERIAL/ANT socket
of your Video.
Coaxial cable
If you are using the coaxial cable a
connection needs to be made from
the RF.OUT socket on your Video to
the aerial socket on your television.
Tune a video channel
Your TV receives signals from the
video like another TV station.
You have to select a channel
number on your TV and tune it in so
that you may watch video tapes.
If you are using a Coaxial cable you
need to select a TV channel on your
Television and tune it to the Video
signal, a bright blue screen.
If you connect a monitor or a TV set
equipped with AUDIO and VIDEO
sockets this adjustment will not be
necessary, simply select the AV mode
on your TV (Recommended).
1 Insert a pre-recorded video tape
into your video and press
NN
.
2 Select channel 36 on your TV.
And then you will see the picture
being played in your video.
3 Store the selected TV channel on
your TV.
Please consult your Television User
Guide for information on how to do
this.
Changing the transmitter
channel
If channel 36 is already occupied at
your TV set, or if the picture is
distorted, please consult your nearest
service center.

DC Power Source
Your Video is designed for in-home or portable use. You can power it from the cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle or a 12V (1.2A) DC power source.
10
DC Input Socket
Plug DC power cord into either the
12-volt DC outlet or cigarette lighter
socket. Plug the other end into the
DC input socket on your Video.
Do not leave your Video in a place
where the temperature exceeds 70
°C
(158°F), or the pick-up device may be
damaged.
Examples include :
Inside a car with the windows closed
and in direct sunshine.
Near a heating appliance.
Your Video and its DC power cord are
designed for use in vehicles that have
12-volt, negative ground electrical
systems. (This is standard for most
vehicles.) If your vehicle has a differ-
ent type of electrical system, the DC
power system cannot be used.
To prevent electrical shock and possi-
ble damage to your Video or vehicle,
always unplug DC power cord from
the cigarette lighter socket before you
remove the plug from your Video.
A 3 amp. 125 or 250V fuse for pro-
tection is installed in the DC power
cord.
While the engine is being started, dis-
connect the DC power cord from the
car’s cigarette lighter socket.
Do not operate your Video when the
car battery is discharged. Peak cur-
rent from the car generator may
cause the DC fuse to blow.
If the vehicle’s supply voltage drops
below approximately 10 volts, your
Video may not work properly.
Warning
When your Video is not in use,
always disconnect it from the
cigarette lighter socket to avoid
battery drain.

11
No picture and no sound
Check that the Video plug has
been plugged in and switched on
at a mains wall socket and that
the television has been plugged in
and switched on.
Check the aerial lead is
undamaged and securely
connected to the correct sockets
in both the television and the

in the Video already.
Is the video cassette the right
way round? The windows should
be at the top and the arrow
should be pointing toward the
Video.
No playback or a poor
picture
Try a different video cassette.
If the problem is resolved, the
problem may have been the
cassette itself.
Try using TRK(
vv
/
VV
) button to
reduce the amount of visible
interference.
If the cassette contains a
recording that you have recently
made from the television, the
television channels may not be
tuned to the Video correctly.
The Remote Control does
not work
Has the Video been plugged in?
Check that the batteries have
been inserted correctly into the
Remote Control.
Autoplay does not work

used to prevent recording has
been removed.
