The following instructions are intended to assist the user in adding motor oil to the engine
crankcase. Please read these instructions before operating mixer.

Engine Crankcase Oil Filling Instructions
Operating the engine with
no oil or low oil
can
cause severe engine damage. Always check engine
oil level before operating mixer.
When adding motor oil to the engine crankcase always
use 4-stroke motor oil that meets or exceeds the
requirements for API service classification SJ, SL, or
the equivalent. Always check the API service label on
the oil container to be sure it contains the letters SJ,
SL, or equivalent.
SAE 10W-30 is recommended for general use. Other
viscosities shown in Table 1 may be used when the
average temperature in your area is within the the
indicated range.

WARNING
Figure 3. Reduction Case
Reduction Case Oil Level Check
1. For
5.5 HP
engines (1/6 gear reduction), remove
the filler bolt and oil level bolt (Figure 3). If oil begins
to leak out from the reduction case as the oil level
bolt is being removed, it can be assumed the
reduction case oil level is correct.
2. If oil is not leaking from the reduction case, fill the
reduction case with the same oil that is recom-
mended for the engine. Fill until oil starts to flow
from the oil level bolt hole.
