MICROWAVE ENERGY
(a) Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since open-door
operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is
important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
(b) Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or
allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
(c) Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that
the oven door close properly and that there is no damage to the:

for industrial or laboratory use.

8. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:
a. Do not overcook food. Carefully attend appliance when paper,
plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the oven to
facilitate cooking.

products, cooking utensils or food in the cavity when not in use.
9. Liquids, such as water, coffee, or tea are able to be overheated beyond
the boiling point without appearing to be boiling due to surface tension of
the liquid. Visible bubbling or boiling when the container is removed from
the microwave oven is not always present. THIS COULD RESULT IN VERY
HOT LIQUIDS SUDDENLY BOILING OVER WHEN A SPOON OR OTHER
UTENSIL IS INSERTED INT
O THE LIQUID.

o reduce the risk of injury to person:
a. Do not overheat the liquid.
b. Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating it.
c. Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
d.
After heating
, allow the container to stand in the microwave oven for
a short time before removing the container.

Use extreme care when inserting a spoon or other utensil into the
container
.

10. Do not heat oil or fat for deep-frying. It is difficult to control the
temperature of oil in microwave oven.
11. Pierce foods with heavy skins such as potatoes, whole squash, apples
and chestnuts before cooking.
12. The contents of feeding bottles and baby jars should be stirred or
shaken and the temperature should be checked before serving in order
to avoid burns.
13. Cooking utensils may become hot because of heat transferred from the
heated food. Potholders may be needed to handle the utensil.
14. Do not cover or block any openings on the appliance.
15. Do not store or use this appliance outdoors. Do not use this product
near water, for example, near a kitchen sink, in a wet basement, near a
swimming pool, or similar locations.
16. Do not operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or a plug, if it is
not working properly or if it has been damaged or dropped.
17. Do not immerse cord or plug in water. Keep cord away from heated
surface. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
18. Use only thermometers, which are specifically designed for use in
microwave ovens.
19. Do not operate any heating or cooking appliance beneath this
appliance.
20. Be certain the glass tray and roller rings are in place when you operate
the oven
21. Care should be taken while turning on the vent fan. Cooking fires could
accidentally start.
22. Clean ventilating hoods frequently - grease should not be allowed to
accumulate on hood or filter.
23. When flaming foods under the hood, turn the fan off.
24. Be careful when removing the light bulbs. Bulbs maybe hot or may be
stuck due to excessive grease build up.
25. When cleaning surfaces or door and oven that comes together on
closing the door, use only mild, nonabrasive soaps, or detergents
applied with a sponge or soft cloth.
26. This appliance should be serviced only by qualified service personnel.
Contact nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or
adjustment.

UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
Unpacking and Examining Your Oven
Carefully remove oven from carton. SAVE THE CARTON AS IT MAY MAKE
INSTALLATION EASIER.
Remove:
1. All packing materials from inside the oven cavity; however, DO NOT
REMOVE THE WAVEGUIDE COVER, which is located on the ceiling in the
oven cavity. Check to see that there are Installation Instructions, Wall
Template, Top Cabinet Template, bag of Installation Hardware, Charcoal
Filter and Exhaust Damper Assembly. Read enclosures and SAVE the
Owner’s Instructions.
2. The feature sticker from the outside of the door, if there is one. Check the
oven for any damage, such as misaligned or bent door, damaged door
seals and sealing surfaces, broken or loose door hinges and latches and
dents inside the cavity or on the door. If there is any damage, do not
operate the oven and contact your dealer. See Installation Instruction for
more details.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for
the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a
grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an
outlet that is properly installed and grounded.

: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of
electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether
the appliance is properly grounded
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
The electrical requirements are a 120 volt 60 Hz, AC only, 15 amp. It is
recommended that a separate circuit serving only the oven be provided. The
oven is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug. It must be plugged into a
wall receptacle that is properly installed and grounded.
EXTENSION CORD
Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a
qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.
RADIO OR TV INTERFERENCE
Should there be any interference caused by the microwave oven to your
radio or TV
, check that the microwave oven is on a different circuit, relocate
the radio or TV as far away from the oven as feasible or check position and
signal of receiving antenna.

Neither Haier nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to the oven
or personal injury resulting from failure to observe the electrical connection

INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR OVEN
NEVER use the oven without the turntable and support nor turn the turntable
over so that a large dish could be placed in the oven. The turntable will turn
both clockwise and counterclockwise. See page 9 for complete instructions.
ALWAYS have food in the oven when it is “on” to absorb the microwave
energy.
When using the oven at power levels below 100%, you may hear the
magnetron cycling on and off.
Condensation is a normal part of microwave cooking. Room humidity and
the moisture in food will influence the amount of moisture that condenses in
the oven. Generally, covered foods will not cause as much condensation as
uncovered ones. Ventilation openings must not be blocked.
In using recipes or package directions, check food a minute or two before
the minimum time and add time accordingly.

Arrange food carefully. Place
thickest areas towards outside of
dish.
Watch cooking time. Cook for the
shortest amount of time indicated
and add more as needed. Food
severely overcooked can smoke or
ignite.
Cover foods while cooking. Check
recipe or cookbook for suggestions.
Paper towels, wax paper, microwave
plastic wrap or a lid. Cover prevent
spattering and help foods to cook
evenly.
• If possible stir foods from outside to
center of dish once or twice during
cooking,.
Turn foods over once during
microwaving to speed cooking of
such foods as chicken and
hamburgers. Large items like roasts
must be turned over at least once.
• Rearrange foods such as meatballs
halfway through cooking both from
top to bottom and from the center
of the dish to the outside.
Add standing time. Remove food
from oven and stir, if possible.
Cover for standing time that allows
the food to finish cooking without
overcooking.
Check for doneness. Look for signs
indicating that cooking
temperatures have been reached.
-Doneness signs include:
-Food steams throughout, not just at
edge.
-Center bottom of dish is very hot to
the touch.
-Poultry thigh joins move easily.
-Meat and poultry show no pinkness.
-Fish is opaque and flakes easily with
a fork.

•To test for doneness, insert a meat thermometer in a thick or dense
area away from fat of bone. NEVER leave the thermometer in the food
during cooking, unless it is approved for microwave oven use.
ALWAYS use potholders to prevent burns when handling utensils that
are in contact with hot food. Enough heat from the food can transfer
through utensils to cause skin burns.
•Avoid steam burns by directing steam away from the face and hands.
Slowly lift the farthest edge of a dish’s covering and carefully open
popcorn and oven cooking bags away from the face.
•Stay near the oven while it’s in use and check cooking progress
frequently so that there is no chance of overcooking food.
•NEVER use the cavity for storing cookbooks or other items.
•Select, store and handle food carefully to preserve its high quality and
minimize the spread of foodborne bacteria.
•Keep waveguide cover clean. Food residue can cause arcing and/or
fires.
Use care when removing items from the oven so that utensil, your
clothes or accessories do not touch the safety door latches.

Should you wish to check if a dish is safe for microwave, place the empty dish in
the oven and microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds. A dish which becomes very
hot should not be used.

•Paper towels are good for covering foods for reheating and absorbing fat
while cooking bacon.
•Wax paper can be used for cooking and reheating.
•Plastic wrap that is specially marked for microwave use can be used for
cooking and reheating. DO NOT allow plastic wrap to touch food. Vent so
steam can escape.
•Lids that are microwave-safe are a good choice because heat is kept near the
food to hasten cooking.
•Oven cooking bags are good for large meats or foods that need tenderizing.
DO NOT use metal twist ties. Remember to slit bag so steam can escape.
It is not necessary to buy all new
cookware. Many pieces already in your
kitchen can be used successfully in
your new microwave oven. Make sure
the utensil does not touch the interior
walls during cooking.

BASIC CONTROLS
Before operating your new microwave
oven make sure you read and
understand this operation manual
completely. Plug in the oven. Close
the door. The oven display will show

Suppose you want to enter the correct
time of day 9:30 (A.M. or P.M.).
1.Touch Kitchen Timer/Clock pad.
Press number 2.

Enter the correct time of day by
touching the numbers in sequence.

3.Touch Kitchen Timer/Clock pad
again.
This is a 12 hour clock. If you attempt
to enter an incorrect clock time, ERROR
ENTER CORRECT TIME will appear in
the display. Touch the Stop/Clear pad
and re-enter the time. If the power
supply to your microwave oven should
be interrupted, the time of day will be
erased. If this occurs during cooking,
the program will also be erased.
Simply touch Stop/Clear pad and reset
the clock for the correct time of day.

TIME COOKING
Your oven can be programmed for 99
minutes 99 seconds. Always enter the
seconds after the minutes, even if they
are both zeros.
Suppose you want to cook for 3
minutes at 100%.
1. Enter cooking time. 300
2. Touch Start/Touch On pad.
There are eleven preset power levels.
Using lower power levels increases the
cooking time which is recommended
for foods such as cheese, milk and
long slow cooking of meats. Consult
cookbook or recipes for specific
recommendations.
Suppose you want to cook for 5
minutes at 30%.
1. Enter cooking time. 500
2. Touch Power Level pad. Enter
number 3 for power level.
3. Touch Start/Touch On pad.
TURNTABLE ON/OFF
For most cooking, the turntable should
be on; however the turntable can be
turned off so that it does not rotate
when extra large dishes, such as the
popular 13x9x2 glass utility casserole,
are used. The casserole should be
placed on the turntable so that it is
level.
Suppose you want to cook lasagna in
a 13x9x2 casserole for 45 minutes on
40% power.
1.Touch Turntable On/Off pad
and note TURNTABLE OFF in
the display.
2.Enter cooking time.
3.Touch Power Level pad. Enter
number 4 for power level.
4.Touch Start/Touch On pad.
STOP/CLEAR
Touch the Stop/Clear pad to:
1. Erase if you make a mistake
during programming.
2. Cancel kitchen timer.
3. Stop the oven temporarily
during cooking.
4. Return the time of day to the
display.
5. Cancel a program during
cooking, touch twice.

appear. Door may be opened
when remaining cooking time
appears on the display. At this
time, you may stir or season
food, as desired.
7. If Sensor does not detect vapor
properly when popping
popcorn, the oven will turn off,
and the correct time of day will
be displayed. If Sensor does
not detect vapor properly when
cooking other foods, ERROR
will be displayed, and the oven
will turn off.
8. Check food for temperature
after cooking. If additional time
is needed, continue to cook
manually.

Covering foods:
Some foods work best when covered.
Use the cover recommended in the
chart for these foods.
1. Casserole lid.
2. Plastic wrap: Use plastic wrap
recommended for microwave
cooking. Cover dish loosely;
allow approximate 1/2 inch to
remain uncovered to allow
steam to escape. Plastic wrap
should not touch food.
3. Wax paper: Cover dish
completely; fold excess wrap
under dish to secure. If dish is
wider than paper, overlap two
pieces at least one inch to
cover. Be careful when
removing any covering to allow
steam to escape away from
you.

Wash and place in casserole. Add no water if

Peel around top and remove core. Place sugar
or cinnamon candies in core. Place apples in a
glass pie plate. Cover with plastic wrap.
Place in casserole. Add 1- 4 tbsp water. Cover

cover for tender- crisp vegetables. Press Fresh
vegetables pad twice for hard. After cooking,
stir, if possible, let stand, covered, for 2 to 5
minutes.
Frozen entrees 6 - 17 oz Use this pad for frozen convenience foods. It will
give satisfactory results for most brands. You
may wish to try several and choose your
favorite. Remove package from outer wrapping
and follow package directions for covering. After
cooking, let stand, covered, for 1 to 3 minutes.
Frozen vegetables 1 - 6 cups Add no water. Cover with lid or plastic wrap.
After cooking, stir and let stand, covered, for 3
minutes.
Ground meat .25 - 2.0 lb Use this setting to cook ground beef or turkey as
patties or in a casserole to be added to other
ingredients. Place patties on a microwave-safe
rack and cover with wax paper or plastic wrap.

1 refrigerated muffin of roll. Arrange on plate;
cover with paper towel.

3. Hot cereal 1 - 4 servings Use individual packets or bulk cereal of your
favorite variety: oatmeal, oat bran, cream of
wheat, farina or wheatena. Follow package
directions for the correct amount of water or
milk. To prevent overflow, it is very important to
choose a large container because microwave
cooking of cereal cause high boiling. When oven
stops, stir and touch Start/Touch On. After
cooking, stir and let stand, covered, for 2
minutes.
4. Turkey breast 3.0 - 6.0 lb Place skin side down on a microwave-safe rack.
Cover with vented plastic wrap. At signal, turn
over. Re-cover. After cooking, remove from oven,
cover with foil and allow to stand 10 to 15
minutes. Internal temperature should be 170.
5. Pork loin 2.0 - 3.5 lb Boneless pork loin is recommended because it
cooks evenly. Place on a microwave-safe rack.
Cover with vented plastic wrap. At signal, turn
over. Shield with small, flat pieces of aluminum
foil any areas that are cooking too rapidly. Re-
cover. After cooking, remove from oven, cover
with foil and allow to stand 10 minutes. Internal
temperature should be 160.
6. Meat loaf 1.0 - 2.0 lb Use your favorite recipe. Mix well and place in
microwave-safe loaf dish. Cover with wax paper
or vented plastic wrap. Enter weight of meat
used in the recipe. After cooking

covered, for 5 minutes. Drain and serve.

Compu Defrost automatically defrosts
foods from the following chart.
Suppose you want to defrost a 2.0
pound steak.
1. Touch Compu Defrost pad
once. Then touch 2 for steak.
2. Enter weight by touching the
number pads 2 and 0. (Ex:2.0
lb steak.)
3. Touch Start/Touch On pad. The
oven will stop and directions
will be displayed. Follow the
indicated message.
4. After the 1st stage, open the
door. Turn steak over and
shield any warm portions.
