OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PRODUCT MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM ILLUSTRATIONS
This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical
outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
CORD PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not t into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from
entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply
cords or extension cords are not recommended for use with this product.
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it rmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are
found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress
on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF
APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
IMPORTANT
During the rst few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor.

This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been
used a few more times.
BEFORE USING
Solid surface countertops can be easily scratched, cracked, scorched, or damaged,
especially when exposed to heat. To prevent damage, the following precautions should
be observed when using this product:
Always use a trivet under heat generating sources such as Slow Cookers, Toaster
Ovens, Skillets, Deep Fryers, etc.
Carefully unpack the deep fryer and all parts. Remove all packaging materials, including
any stickers or labels. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the deep fryer with
a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. NEVER IMMERSE THE DEEP
FRYER OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. Position the deep fryer on
a dry, level, heat-resistant surface. It is recommended to operate this appliance on a
separate outlet and circuit from other appliances to avoid overloading the circuit.
Use only the magnetic cord set provided with this product. The use of any other magnetic
cord set may cause re, electric shock, or injury.
Attach the power cord to the unit by aligning the magnetic plug end of the cord assembly
with the two electrical pins located in the recessed area of the base. When properly
aligned, the plug will magnetically attach itself to the appliance. For proper connection,
the magnetic plug end must be parallel with the countertop.
Important: The magnetic cord was designed to detach easily from the deep fryer. As a
result, if it is bumped or touched during use it could possibly detach causing the unit to
stop heating. Avoid contact with cord during operation. If contact occurs, verify that the
cord is still properly connected.
USING YOUR DEEP FRYER
1. Place your deep fryer on a clean, dry, level, stable, and heat-resistant surface in
center of the countertop.
2. Fill unit with cooking oil to the oil ll line, which is located on the inside of the unit.
NEVER ll the deep fryer past the MAX ll line. Be sure the oil level is between the
minimum and maximum levels. NEVER RUN THE DEEP FRYER WITHOUT OIL.
3. Attach the magnetic cord according to instructions on page 4.
4. Plug cord into a 120 volt wall outlet.
5. Adjust the temperature control to the desired or required temperature. NOTE: The
oil may be heated with or without the deep fryer lid in the closed position. If the lid
is in the closed position, it will prevent possible splattering.
6. When oil reaches desired temperature, the ready light will illuminate.
7. Place food in the basket. Then slowly lower the basket into the oil in the fryer base.
DO NOT overload the basket as this will substantially lower the oil temperature and
the food will absorb more oil. Also, overloading can cause a boil over. Please note
that high moisture foods can cause a boil over. Take caution when lowering the
basket to make sure it does not boil over.
8. Lower the fryer lid into the closed position to prevent splatter.
9. When food is placed in the deep fryer, it will naturally cool the oil thereby making the
ready light turn off. This is normal.
5
10. When food has reached desired brownness, open the lid by pressing the lid release
button. Raise the basket from the oil by lifting the fryer basket handle. Allow excess
oil to drain from the food before serving. Tip: You can rest the basket on the edge of
the deep fryer to allow oil to drain. Caution: To avoid risk of burns, do not touch any
part of the fryer when in use or when hot.
CAUTION: FOOD AND BASKET WILL BE VERY HOT COMING OUT OF THE HOT OIL.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE FOOD FROM THE BASKET WITH YOUR HANDS.
DEEP FRYER TIPS
Always add oil to the deep fryer before attaching the magnetic plug or inserting the
plug into the wall outlet.
Use deep fryer only on a clean, dry, level, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away
from countertop edge.
Close supervision is necessary when appliance is used near children. Hot oil can
cause serious and painful burns.
To avoid the risk of electrocution or electrical burns, do not let the cord or plug come
into contact with water or other liquid.
Use only a good, reliable standard brand of vegetable cooking oil for deep frying.
Deep frying foods in butter, margarine, olive oil, or animal fat are not recommended
because of lower smoking temperatures.
Before deep frying, remove excess moisture from food by blotting with a paper
towel; moist foods cause excess foaming and splattering. Do not add wet foods to
cooking oil. Even small amounts of water may cause oil to splatter.
Use caution when deep frying tortillas. Flour tortillas contain air bubbles. During
deep frying, oil can become trapped within these bubbles. If not properly drained,
the bubbles can burst and cause burns. Therefore, after deep frying tortillas,
carefully raise them out of the cooking oil and allow oil to drain from tortillas for
approximately 30 seconds.
Always unplug cord from wall outlet and then from deep fryer when unit is not in use.
Always allow the deep fryer to cool completely before removing oil and before
cleaning.
DO NOT leave utensils sitting in hot oil.
Always use caution when cooking with hot oils to prevent severe personal injury or
damage to property. Always use caution when frying around children.
For breading or coating foods, use commercial breading, nely ground bread or
cracker crumbs, corn meal, mixture of corn meal and our, pancake mix, or prepared
bread mixes.
After each use, strain oil through a lter or a double thickness of cheesecloth to
remove accumulated residue. Store in refrigerator.
Do not place oil in refrigerator while still contained in the oil tank with the control
panel in place. Do not place appliance in the refrigerator to store oil. Oil must be
removed and stored in a tightly sealed container before placing in the refrigerator. It
is time to replace the cooking oil if the oil is dark in color, the oil has an unpleasant
odor, the oil smokes when it is heated, or the oil foams excessively during frying.
