WATER SPLASH RESISTANT FEATURES
The unit includes the following special water splash resistant features :
Headphones / DC Jack Cover : Protects the jack when headphones / external DC supply are not in use.
Rubber Buttons - Protects easy touch controls for all weather situations.
CD Door Lock Knob - Locks the CD door. Slide the CD DOOR LOCK KNOB to LOCK position to lock
the CD DOOR.
CAUTION : The unit is water splash resistant, but not waterproof. Submersion or excessive amounts of
water may damage the unit. The unit is not water resistant when the CD door is open.
HANGING THE UNIT
To use the supplied wall mount bracket and nylon rope to attach to the rear side
of the unit.

POWER SOURCE
BATTERY POWER OPERATION
1. Open the BATTERY DOOR by rotating the BATTERY DOOR OPEN KNOB in the direction of the
arrow shown on the unit.
2. Install 4 x "C" size (UM2) batteries carefully as indicated in battery compartment.
3. Close the BATTERY DOOR and rotate the BATTERY DOOR OPEN KNOB in the reverse direction
to make sure the BATTERY DOOR is fully locked.
Note :
* For battery operation the AC power adaptor must be disconnected from the DC jack.
* When the batteries are low, erratic information may appear on the DISPLAY. In order to reset the
display, remove the old batteries and install new batteries after waiting 5 minutes.
* Use batteries of correct size and type only.
* Maintain correct polarity when installing batteries.
* Do not mix different types of batteries, or old and new batteries.
* Old batteries can leak and cause corrosion so never leave run down batteries in your unit.
* Remove batteries when the unit will not be used for a long period of time.
* Follow the battery manufacturer's instructions.
AC POWER ADAPTOR OPERATION (NOT INCLUDED)
1. Pull out the DC Jack Cover.
2. Use only a suitable AC power adaptor. - DC6V 600mA, center positive.
3. Note the polarity (center "+") and input voltage indicated on unit.
4. Make sure to use a correct adaptor that matches the size of the DC jack.
5. Connect the AC adaptor plug to the DC jack of the unit and plug the adaptor into an AC outlet.
Note:
* Always disconnect the AC adaptor plug from the DC jack when using batteries to power the unit.
* Remove the AC adaptor from the outlet when the unit will not be used for a long period of time.
LISTENING WITH THE HEADPHONES
Pull out the Headphones Jack Cover. Connect stereo headphones (not included) into the PHONES JACK.
It will automatically cut off the sound output from the built-in speakers.
CAUTION : Avoid excessive volume levels and listening to sound for a long period of time when using
headphones, as this may damage your hearing.
LISTENING WITH THE BUILT IN SPEAKERS
If you do not plug headphones into the unit, then the unit will use the built-in speakers for sound output.
VOLUME CONTROL
Rotate the VOLUME KNOB to change the volume output level.
PLAYING COMPACT DISC
Slide the CD DOOR LOCK KNOB to the open position and open the CD DOOR. Place a CD into the
compact disc compartment and close the CD DOOR. Remember always slide the CD DOOR LOCK
KNOB to the lock position before using the unit.
Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to CD position.

PLAY / PAUSE BUTTON
Press once to start playing the CD.
The DISPLAY will show the playing track no. Press once again to stop playing temporarily and the track no.
will be flash. Press once again to resume playing and the track no. will stop flashing.
STOP BUTTON
Press once to stop playing the CD. Then the total no. of track of the CD will be shown in the DISPLAY.
NEXT SKIP / SEARCH FORWARD BUTTON
When playing a CD, press once to skip to next track. Press and hold to search for a desired position at high
speed forward. Release the button to resume normal play.
BACK SKIP / SEARCH BACKWARD BUTTON
Press once to skip back to the beginning of the current playing track. Press repeatedly to go to previous
tracks. Press and hold to search for a desired position at high speed in reverse. Release the button to
resume normal play.
MODE BUTTON
- Press once for single track repeat playing and this symbol " " will appear in the DISPLAY.
- Press twice for all tracks repeat playing and this symbol " " will appear in the DISPLAY.
- Press three times for random playing and "RAND." will appear in the DISPLAY.
The number of songs will be played in a random sequence until all the songs are played once and
then it will stop playing.
To return to the normal play, press the MODE BUTTON until all the above indicators disappear.
To turn off the CD, press the STOP button twice.
CD PROGRAM PLAYBACK
Programmed playback enables tracks on a disc to be played in the desired order. Up to 24 tracks can be
programmed.
1. Press once the PROGRAM BUTTON. " PROG." will flash in the DISPLAY.
2. Press the "BACK SKIP / SEARCH BACKWARD" and / or "NEXT SKIP / SEARCH FORWARD"
BUTTON to select the desired track number.
3. Press once the PROGRAM BUTTON again to memorize the track.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all desired tracks are programmed.
5. Press the PLAY / PAUSE BUTTON to start playing. " PROG. " will appear in the DISPLAY.
6. Press the STOP BUTTON to stop programmed playback.
7. Press the PROGRAM BUTTON and then PLAY / PAUSE BUTTONS to resume programmed
playback.
8. Press the PROGRAM then STOP button to clear the programmed memory, or open the CD DOOR
or power off the unit to clear the programmed memory.
NOTE : Programming can only be made when CD playing is in stop mode.
RADIO OPERATION
1. Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to RADIO position. Set the desired radio band with the AM/FM BAND
SWITCH.
2. Tune in a desired station by turning the TUNING KNOB.
3. Adjust the VOLUME KNOB to your desired listening level.
4. To turn off the radio, set the FUNCTION SWITCH to the CD position.
DBBS
When the DBBS ON/OFF BUTTON is set to the ON position, the dynamic low frequency ranges are
boosted.

MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE CABINET
Wipe with a soft cloth. If the cabinet is very dirty, dampen the cloth with a weak solution of neutral detergent
and water and then wipe clean.
CLEANING THE LENS
A dirty lens will cause sound skipping and may cause the unit to malfunction. Open the door and clean the
lens as follows :
(A) Dust or dry particles
Using a camera lens brush/blower, blow on the lens a few times, then wipe it lightly with the brush to remove
dust. Then blow on the lens once more.
(B) Finger prints
If the lens does not get clean using brush/blower, use a cotton swab starting in the middle and working to
the outside edge.
CLEANING THE DISC
When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from the middle moving outward.
NOTE : Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners of anti-static spray
intended for analog discs.
