1.Slidethebottomofthemouseforwardandensurethatthemodeswitchisinthe2.4GHzposition.

ItisrecommendedthatyouinstalltheLenovoMouseSuitesoftwarebeforeyouusetheThinkPadX1
WirelessTouchMouse.Afterinstallingthesoftware,youcancustomizeadvancedsettingsforyourmouse.
Note:Itisrecommendedthatyouuninstallanypreviouslyinstalledmousesoftwarebeforeinstallingthe
LenovoMouseSuitesoftware.Tocheckifanymousesoftwareisinstalledonyourcomputer,viewControl

DualMode(USB+Bluetooth)Interface,andthenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreentocomplete
theinstallation.

WiththeLenovoMouseSuitesoftware,youcanenablethevirtuallaserpointerfunction,whichistested
andqualifiedbyLenovoforMicrosoftPowerPointpresentations.Thevirtuallaserpointermightfunction
differentlyornotworkinotherapplicationsthatarenottestedorqualifiedbyLenovo.
EnsurethatyouhaveselectedEnableVirtualLaserPointerforTouchpad(supportedinPowerpoint)
beforeusingthevirtuallaserpointerfunction.
ToselectEnableVirtualLaserPointerforTouchpad(supportedinPowerpoint),dothefollowing:
1.InstalltheLenovoMouseSuitesoftware.
2.GotoControlPanel,andviewitbylargeiconsorsmallicons.
3.Locateandclickthemouseicon.Themousepropertieswindowisdisplayed.
4.ClicktheLenovotab,andthenselectEnableVirtualLaserPointerforTouchpad(supportedin
Powerpoint).
Usingthemouse
YoucanusetheThinkPadX1WirelessTouchMouseasatraditionalmouseortouchpad.Inthetouchpad
mode,youcanuseitasavirtuallaserpointerforMicrosoftPowerPointpresentations.
Asatraditionalmouse,usethetouchscrollstripinthemiddletoscrollupanddown.
Asatouchpad,turnoverthemousetoenablethetouchpadandtouchbuttonfunctions:
Onthetouchpad,usesingle-fingertaptoclick,andtwo-fingertaptoright-clickonthetouchpad.
Nogesturesorzoomingissupported.
AsavirtuallaserpointerforMicrosoftPowerPointpresentations,see“Installingthesoftware”on
page4toenablethevirtuallaserpointerfunction.
ClickthetouchbuttonstomakepageforwardorbackwardforMicrosoftPowerPointpresentations.
Note:Thepageforwardorbackwardfunctionsarethedefaultfunctionsofthetouchbuttons.The
touchbuttonsmighthavedifferentfunctionsinotherapplicationsthatarenottestedorqualifiedby
Lenovo.Toenabletheotherfunctions,viewControlPanelbylargeiconsorsmalliconsandthenclick
themouseicon.Inthedisplayedmousepropertieswindow,makeyourpreferredselectionsunder

Problem:Themouseisnotrecognizedbytheoperatingsystem.
Solution:
FortheWindows7operatingsystem:
1.ClickStartControlPanel.
2.DependingonyourControlPanelmode,double-clickSystemorclickPerformanceandMaintenance
System.
3.ClicktheHardwaretab.
4.ClickDeviceManager.
5.ScrolldownuntilyoufindMiceandotherpointingdevices.Then,expandtheMiceandother
pointingdevicescategory.
6.Right-clickHID-compliantmouse,andthenselectUninstall.Awarningmessageisdisplayed,
promptingyouthatyouaregoingtoremoveadevicefromtheoperatingsystem.
7.ClickOK.
8.Right-clickMiceandotherpointingdevices,andthenselectScanforhardwarechangesto

Problem:Themousepointerdoesnotmovesmoothly.
Solution:
Ensurethatyouhavefollowedtheinstallationinstructions.
Cleanthemouselenswithasoftcottonswab.Donotuseanyliquidorsolventtocleanthemouselens
becausetheymightdamagethelens.
Putamousematorwhitepaperunderthemouse.Themousemightnotworkproperlyonahighly
reflectivesurface,suchasaglassormirrorsurface.Themousecanneitherworkproperlyonaregular
patternsurface,suchassomeelectrostaticpreventionsurfaceorsomepaperinmagazine.
ReinstalltheLenovoMouseSuitesoftware.
Problem:IhaveconnectedtheUSBreceivertoaUSBconnectoronthesideofaThinkCentreall-in-one
desktopcomputer.Afterthat,whenIusethemouseinthe2.4GHzwirelessmode,themouseisinterrupted
andthemousepointerlagsoritcannotmove.
Solution:
ItisrecommendedthatyouconnecttheUSBreceivertoarearUSBconnectoronyourThinkCentre
all-in-onedesktopcomputer.
UseyourmouseintheBluetoothmode.
Problem:IhaveconnectedtheUSBreceivertoaUSBconnectoronadock.Afterthat,whenIusethe
mouseinthe2.4GHzwirelessmode,themouseisinterruptedandthemousepointerlagsoritcannotmove.
Solution:
ItisrecommendedthatyouconnecttheUSBreceivertoafrontUSB3.0connectoronthedock.Avoid
connectinganotherUSB3.0devicenexttotheconnectorwiththeUSBreceiver.
UseyourmouseintheBluetoothmode.
Problem:ThemouseisnotrecognizedbymycomputerwhenIuseitintheBluetoothmode.
Solution:

EnsurethatyouhaveenabledtheBluetoothfunctiononyourcomputer.
Restartyourcomputer.
UpgradeyourBluetoothdrivertothelatestmanuallyorbyThinkVantageSystemUpgrade.
EnsurethatyouhavefollowedtheinstallationinstructionstousethemouseintheBluetoothmode.
EnsurethatthemouseiswithinthemaximumBluetoothrange,10m(32.81ft).
Problem:IntheBluetoothmode,themouselosestheconnectionwiththeThinkCentreall-in-onedesktop
computerorThinkPadcomputerrandomly.
Solution:
1.EnsurethatthecomputerisinstalledwiththeMicrosoftWindows8operatingsystemorlater.
2.ClickComputerManageBluetooth.
3.Right-clicktheBluetoothhostyouuse.ThePropertieswindowisdisplayed.
4.ClickthePowerManagementtab,andthenclearAllowthecomputertoturnoffthisdevicetosave
powertodisabletheselectivesuspendfunction.
Problem:Thevirtuallaserpointerisnotshownaftervirtuallaserpointerfunctionisenabled.
Solution:
ThevirtuallaserpointerfunctionistestedandqualifiedbyLenovoforMicrosoftPowerPointpresentations.
Itmighthavedifferentfunctionsordonotworkinotherapplicationsthatarenottestedorqualified
byLenovo.

Beforewarrantyserviceisprovided,youmusttakethefollowingsteps:
followtheservicerequestproceduresspecifiedbytheServiceProvider;

backuporsecureallprogramsanddatacontainedintheproduct;
providetheServiceProviderwithallsystemkeysorpasswords;
providetheServiceProviderwithsufficient,free,andsafeaccesstoyourfacilitiestoperformservice;
removealldata,includingconfidentialinformation,proprietaryinformationandpersonalinformation,from
theproductor,ifyouareunabletoremoveanysuchinformation,modifytheinformationtopreventits
accessbyanotherpartyorsothatitisnotpersonaldataunderapplicablelaw.TheServiceProvidershall
notberesponsibleforthelossordisclosureofanydata,includingconfidentialinformation,proprietary
information,orpersonalinformation,onaproductreturnedoraccessedforwarrantyservice;
removeallfeatures,parts,options,alterations,andattachmentsnotcoveredbythewarranty;
ensurethattheproductorpartisfreeofanylegalrestrictionsthatpreventitsreplacement;
ifyouarenottheownerofaproductorpart,obtainauthorizationfromtheownerfortheServiceProvider
toprovidewarrantyservice.
WhatYourServiceProviderWillDotoCorrectProblems
WhenyoucontactaServiceProvider,youmustfollowthespecifiedproblemdeterminationandresolution
procedures.
TheServiceProviderwillattempttodiagnoseandresolveyourproblembytelephone,e-mailorremote
assistance.TheServiceProvidermaydirectyoutodownloadandinstalldesignatedsoftwareupdates.
Someproblemsmayberesolvedwithareplacementpartthatyouinstallyourselfcalleda“Customer
ReplaceableUnit”or“CRU.Ifso,theServiceProviderwillshiptheCRUtoyouforyoutoinstall.
Ifyourproblemcannotberesolvedoverthetelephone;throughtheapplicationofsoftwareupdatesor
theinstallationofaCRU,theServiceProviderwillarrangeforserviceunderthetypeofwarrantyservice
designatedfortheproductunderPart3-WarrantyServiceInformationbelow.
IftheServiceProviderdeterminesthatitisunabletorepairyourproduct,theServiceProviderwillreplace
itwithonethatisatleastfunctionallyequivalent.
IftheServiceProviderdeterminesthatitisunabletoeitherrepairorreplaceyourproduct,yoursole
remedyunderthisLimitedWarrantyistoreturntheproducttoyourplaceofpurchaseortoLenovofora
refundofyourpurchaseprice.
ReplacementProductsandParts
Whenwarrantyserviceinvolvesthereplacementofaproductorpart,thereplacedproductorpartbecomes
Lenovo’spropertyandthereplacementproductorpartbecomesyourproperty.OnlyunalteredLenovo
productsandpartsareeligibleforreplacement.ThereplacementproductorpartprovidedbyLenovomay
notbenew,butitwillbeingoodworkingorderandatleastfunctionallyequivalenttotheoriginalproductor
part.Thereplacementproductorpartshallbewarrantedforthebalanceoftheperiodremainingonthe
originalproduct.

Ifyouobtainserviceunderthiswarranty,youauthorizeLenovotostore,useandprocessinformationabout
yourwarrantyserviceandyourcontactinformation,includingname,phonenumbers,address,ande-mail
