Haier Washing Machine Quick Start Guide
※Before using your new washing machine for the first time.
1. Please remove all packaging.
2. Please remove the expanded polystyrene insert inside the drum.
3. Remove the 4 transit bolts, reinforcing bar and the 4 plastic spacers. If in doubt please refer to the
manual.
4. Ensure the washing machine is level and does not wobble. Refer to the manual for foot adjustment.
5. Connect the water supply pipe and drain pipe. Ensure there are no leaks.
6. Connect the power cable to an electrical socket. Please refer to the manual for details
※ When to add detergent and softener
This washing machine has the Smart Dosing function, please read these instructions carefully before using it.
Model HW80-BD1626 ONLY has the following icons.
When the“ ” icon flashes, it means the detergent has run out and more needs to be added before
starting the program.
When the“ ” icon flashes, it means the softener has run out and more needs be added before starting
the program.
※ How to use smart dosing function
1. Before starting washing, please add detergent and softener into each of the compartments in in the
detergent drawer, reference the diagram below. When using the washing machine for the first time,
please add between 500ml and 1300ml of detergent, and between 300ml and 500ml of fabric softener.
2. The washing machine will sound the alarm when the detergent or softener runs out. To prevent the
alarm, please add top up the detergent and softener before it runs out.
3. After adding the detergent and fabric softener to the correct compartments, please be sure that the
detergent drawer is pushed fully back. If dispenser drawer is not pushed back fully, the Smart Dosing
function will not work.
4. After adding detergent and softener, please wait for 2-3 minutes before starting the washing machine. As
required, please select the smart dosing function according to the following instructions.
Caution:
1. The Smart Dosing function is only applicable to liquid detergent or softeners, and cannot be used with
soap powder and non-concentrated liquids or tablets.
2、Do not add liquid detergent or softener that have dried out, or have gone lumpy or are contaminated. Do
not mix different brands of detergent or softener in the dispensers.
3、Do not add liquid detergent and softener into the wrong compartment or both in one compartment of
the detergent drawer. If you accidently add detergent or softener to the wrong compartment, please
remove the detergent drawer from the washing machine and thoroughly clean each compartment with
warm water then re-fill correctly.

※ How to use the control panel to select the required washing program

1. Switch on the power, by touching the power button.
2. Select the program, by rotating the program knob to the required program.
3. Select the washing program. Touch the "Function" button each time to select the required function,
when the cursor moves to the function you want, touch the "Select" button to confirm.
4. To select the Smart Dosing function. Touch the "Detergent" button to select or cancel the Smart
dosing detergent function, Touch the "Softener" button to select or cancel the Smart Dosing softener
function.
5. To select the other options. Touch each of the function (Delay, Temp. Spin or Memo) buttons to set
the functions you want. For details on these functions please refer to the relevant pages in the
manual.
6. Touch the “Start/Pause” button to start the wash program.
