IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, including the following:

even when the switch is off.

If an appliance falls into water, "unplug it" immediately. Do not reach into the

properly, if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner or dropped into
water. Return the appliance to a service center for examination and repair.

Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such
as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air
openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

Keep the cord away from hot or heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around
the appliance.

Never use while drowsy or while sleeping.
❑
Never drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.
❑
Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used.
Do not operate where oxygen is being administered.

This unit is hot when in use. Do not let eyes and bare skin touch heated surfaces.

Do not place the heated unit directly on any surface while it is hot or still
plugged in.
❑
Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any
are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line
cord replaced.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue
stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and
break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE,
OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
IMPORTANT:
Wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue – Neutral
Brown – Line
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of the appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
• The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter N or is coloured black.
• The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter L or is coloured red.
If a 13-amp plug is used, a 5-amp fuse must be fitted or if any other type of plug
is used, a 5-amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor, or at the
Distribution Board.
