Operating your freezer
Before plugging in your freezer for the first time remove all packing, clean the freezer
with warm water and bicarbonate of soda. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Plug the freezer into the mains power supply ensuring that the voltage is the same as
the rating label and then turn the thermostat control knob that is situated inside the
freezer to the midway position. The compressor should then start.
Do not operate your freezer in a room where the temperature is likely to fall below 10
degrees C 50 degrees F at night and /or especially in winter, as it is designed to
operate in ambient temperatures between +10 to +32 degrees C at lower temperatures
the freezer may not operate, resulting in a reduction in the storage life of the food.
Setting the temperature control
To control the internal temperature, adjust the thermostat control knob to the mid way
position the thermostat is positioned inside the freezer.
The temperature control knob has 4 setting OFF “MINIMUM, NORMAL and
MAXIMUM. Where minimum is the warmest and maximum is the coldest setting.
Adjust the temperature control to the setting marked NORMAL to maintain –18
degrees.
Turning the control to the “off “position stops the cooling cycle, but does not turn off
the power to the freezer.
If the freezer is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait 10 minutes before
restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the freezer may not
start.
Storing frozen food
Your freezer is suitable for the long-term storage of commercially frozen foods and
also can be used to freeze and store fresh food.
The inner temperature of your freezer is lower than –18 C. Bacteria reproduction is
completely suppressed under such circumstance. Therefore, the freezer is suitable for
long-time food storage, providing that the expiry date on the food packages is
observed.
If there is a power failure, do not open the door. Frozen food should not be affected if
the failure last for less than 12 hrs. if the failure is longer, then the food should be
checked and either eaten immediately or cooked and then re-frozen.
