Read all of the instructions before using this appliance.

When using this appliance, always exercise basic safety

precautions, including the following:

1) Read all instructions.

2) Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3) To protect against electric shock, do not immerse this appliance, the

cord or plug in water or other liquid.

4) Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by

or near children.

5) Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before

cleaning the appliance.

6) Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after

the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.

Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examina-

tion, repair or adjustment.

7) The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance

manufacturer may cause injuries.

8) Do not let cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch

hot surfaces.

9) Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a

heated oven, or in a microwave.

10) Before plugging the cord into the wall outlet, make sure that the toast

lever is in the up position. To disconnect, make sure toast lever is in the

up position, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.

11) Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

12) Do not use outdoors.

13) Oversized foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in

a toaster as they may cause a fire or electric shock.

14) A fire may occur if toaster is covered or touching flammable material,

including curtains, draperies, walls, etc., when in operation.

15) Failure to clean crumb tray may result in fire hazard.

16) Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.

17) This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.

This appliance has a short cord to reduce the hazard resulting from becoming

entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if you

are careful in its use.:

1. The electrical rating of the xtension cord should be at least as great as the

electrical rating of the appliance.

2. An extension cord with the power cord must be arranged so that it will not drape

over the countertop or tabletop where they can be pulled on by children or

tripped over accidentally.

Your toaster is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug must fit into a polarized outlet only one

way. If plug does not fully fit into outlet, reverse the plug. if it still does not fit, con-

tact a qualified electrician. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE.

2-Slice Toaster. The toaster is

constructed of durable stainless steel for lasting beauty. The extra-wide slots provides

the versatility of toasting thin slices of bread to whole bagels. Bread-centering

guides adjust as the toasting lever is depressed to provide even toasting on both

sides of the bread, muffin or bagel. The toaster is designed to be cool touch and

has black side handles for mobility. An extra-lift feature allows the toast lever to be

moved upward after the toast has popped up to make it easy to remove small

pieces of bread, toast or pastry.

Please take a few minutes to read this manual before using your toaster to become

familiar with its parts and operation.

1. Read all instructions in this manual.

2. Carefully unpack the toaster and remove all packaging material.

3. Place the toaster on a level surface such as a counter or tabletop.

4. Remove all stickers from the toaster except the rating label located on

the bottom.

5. Wipe the outside of the toaster and the crumb tray with a clean, damp

cloth. Polish with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or

metal scouring pads on the toaster.

6. o eliminate any protective substance or oil that may have been used for

packing and shipping, plug in toaster into outlet, set toast control knob

to “5” and press the lever down to start toasting cycle (without bread).

A small amount of smoke and/or odor may be detected. This is normal.

Before Your First Use

1. Make sure the toasting level is in the up position.

2. Unplug from the wall outlet.

3. Wipe the outside with a clean, damp cloth. Polish with a soft, dry cloth.

4. Slide the crumb tray from the toaster and empty crumbs. Wash in

warm, sudsy water, rinse and dry immediately.

Using Your Toaster

1. Plug the cord into a 120 volt AC outlet.

2. Select the toast color by turning the toast color knob clockwise. “1” is the lightest.

“5” is the darkest. For first use, set the toast color on ”3”. Then adjust the toast

color knob to suit your personal preference.

3. Place the bread in either one or both slots and depress the toast lever until it locks

into place. The bread-centering guides will automatically adjust to hold the bread

of any thickness in the center of the slot.

4. The toast will pop up and the current will shut off when it reaches the selected

color.

5. To stop toasting before the toast pops up, press the cancel button. This will cause

the toast to pop up and the current to shut off.

6. This toaster is equipped with an extra lift feature to make removal of small slices

of bread easy. After toast pops up, push the toast lever up as high as it will go to

lift the toast for easy removal from the slot.

7. If a piece of toast becomes lodged in the toaster, unplug the toaster and allow to

cool. Lift the toast lever and turn the toaster upside down, and shake the toast

loose.

8. Do not leave toaster unattended when in operation.

To Toast Bagels:

If you want only the inside of your bagels toasted, slide the “Bagel-Toast Switch” to

the bagel position. This will turn off the outside heating elements so only the inside

heating elements are illuminated. Place your bagel halves facing in towards the

middle and turn the toast color knob to the desired color (1-5).

Caution: Never use a fork or sharp-edge utensil to remove the toast as it may

damage the heating element or cause injury.

Warning: To protect against risk of fire, never put rice cakes

in the toaster.

Limited Warranty

This appliance is warrantied to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of

one year from the date of original purchase, subject to the following.

• That it is not misused, and has not been dismantled or tampered with.

• That it is not immersed in water or any other liquid.

• That it is not used for commercial purposes.

This warranty does not cover failure caused by build-up of food matter or water

deposits.

If the appliance becomes defective under the terms of the ONE YEAR LIMITED WAR-

RANTY, return the appliance with your sales receipt to the store where purchased.

The store will either replace the appliance or issue a refund. In the event of product

replacement, the current equivalent model will be provided.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have rights under your

provincial legislation.
