1Safety and Precautions
Switch off the phone in the vicinity of chemical plants, gas stations and other locations
containing explosive objects.
Keep the phone away from children.
Please switch off your phone as instructed where notices are present.
Switch off the phone when boarding on plane and don't switch on the phone during flight.
Please strictly conform to your local legal regulations during a drive. When hands free
function is available, please use the hands free calling device to ensure safety. Please park the
car at roadside for communication unless in emergency.
Take special care when using the mobile phone in the vicinity of such devices as pacemakers,
hearing aids and electro-medical equipment, which may be interfered by the mobile phone.
When the phone is switched on, a minimum distance of 6 inches (15cm) shall be kept between
the phone and pacemaker. When using other medical equipments, please consult the vendors
of these equipments or doctors for relevant information.
No guarantee for the accessories and fitments not produced by the original factory.
Never attempt to disassemble the phone by unauthorized persons. Contact the authorized
service center in your region in case of any trouble with your mobile phone.
Recharge of the phone without battery being installed is prohibited.

Charge the phone in well-ventilated environment, and keep it away from inflammable and
high explosive articles.
To avoid demagnetization, keep the handset away from magnetic substances such as
magnetic discs or credit cards.
Ensure to keep the handset away from liquid. Take the battery off and contact the authorized
service center if the handset gets soaked or erosion can happen.
Avoid using the phone in too high or too low temperature environments. Never leave the
phone exposed under direct sunlight or in high humidity or dusty environment.
Do not use liquids or damp cloth with strong detergents to clean the handset.
Avoiding dropping, crashing or excessively squeezing the phone, or it may be subject to
damages of different degrees.
Description about UIM card involved in this user manual is only effective for the phone
withUIM card. The menus and operations correlative to UIM, such as PIN code, will not be
exactly the same as the real ones, which shall prevail! OPTIONAL
For body worn operation this phone has been tested and meets FCC RF exposure guidelines
when used with an accessory that contains no metal and that positions the handset a minimum
of 1.5 cm from the body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF
exposure guidelines.

4.1 Communication control keys
4.2 Functional keys and soft keys
The key Call control is used for making a call (after a number has been entered); or for viewing
recently dialed phone numbers.
The key power on/off is used for ending a call (during dialing and communication state), or for
exiting menu under menu state to return to standby menu. Pressing and holding this key may
switch on or off the phone.
The key Navigation key is Direction keys, Direction keys of up, down, left and right direction
are used for browsing menus, lists, options or content composed. Under standby state, the left-
direction key is used as shortcut key for profiles; the right-direction key is used as shortcut key
for messages, the up-direction key is used as shortcut key for call history; the down-direction
key is used as shortcut key for contacts.
Under standby state, the left soft key is a shortcut key for accessing main menu and the right
soft key is a shortcut key for Contacts. The functions of the two soft keys under other states are
closely related to the phone's current state.

symbols etc.
After the phone's standby interface maintains for a while (time length is set by the user),
the phone will turn off the backlight of the screen for the purpose of power saving. If the
backlight of the screen goes out, you can press any key on the phone's keypad to turn on the
backlight immediately.
Under standby state, common icons on the first row of the screen are as follows:

You can press the key '#' to switch between input methods and press the key ' ' to switch to
symbol input method.
Four modes of silence,Ring, Vibrate, Vibrate Then Ring are available for your selection under
the path [Profiles] Normal] [personalise] [SMS Alert Mode].

This handset provides a way to search for phone number by first letter of name. Under the
contact name list (press the shortcut key to get in), after inputting the first letter of name to be

To dial a fixed number, please key in the area code of the number first and then key in the
number to be dialed. If mobile phone number is to be dialed from a fixed telephone, please dial
0 first and then the mobile phone number of the other party.
Dial 00 first and then key in district code, area code and the phone number.

5 Getting started
5.1 What's RUIM card?
5.2 Installing your RUIM card(OPTIONAL)
When registering your mobile phone number, you will have a RUIM card (User Identity Module)
provided by the network provider.
With the RUIM card, which stores many parameters required for communications, you can use
the various functions of the phone and store personal information, including PIN (Personal
Identification Number), phonebook, short messages and other additional system services.
Please handle the RUIM card with care, twisting or pressing it may cause damage. If it is lost,
please contact your network operator immediately for help.
( ): The RUIM card shall be placed beyond the range of children.
Power off your phone before installing the RUIM card. To install the RUIM card at the back of the
phone, follow the steps below:
Turn the phone over to the back, open the back cover and remove the battery by pushing up the
battery. Lift and insert as shown in the figure.

5.3 Charging your battery
The battery used in the phone is rechargeable. New battery must be fully charged before it is
used for the first time. Only after several times of charging and discharging can the battery's
efficiency made the best of.
During the course of charging, it is normal to find the battery and the phone slightly heat-up.
The phone will automatically protect itself when battery temperature rises so as to control
temperature variation.
The handset will give off alert as the battery is running out. When the power has run out the
handset will be switched off automatically.
To ensure the battery in optimal state, we recommend you discharge the battery fully at least
once every month by consuming the power until the phone is switched off automatically.

Note: Actual time of usage of the battery varies according to different operation modes and
settings of network base station. If you use the phone when battery is rather low, the phone may
restart or switch off automatically. Please recharge in time.
This code is for entering RUIM card, to prevent others from using your RUIM. If your startup this
code in your phone, when opening the phone, display will show input PIN1 code . When
inputting the code, the screen will show instead of the content. You can get the code the
same time you get the card from the service provider.
WARNING Mistaking input PIN code for 3 times, the RUIM card will be locked, please
contact the service provider for help. Trying to unlock by yourself may cause forever
invalidation

6 Basic operations

Pressing and holding the key power on/off may power on the phone. It will automatically search
the network if the RUIM card and the phone have no password protection. After the phone is
registered in CDMA network, signal will be displayed at the top left corner of the screen. The
phone is now in the standby state and you can make or answer a call. Your phone remains in a
searching state if it fails to find the available network system.
If the screen displays No RUIM Card after it is power on, please power off the phone by
pressing and holding the key power on/off and check whether your RUIM card is properly
installed.
If a password or PIN code (if with RUIM card) for the phone is required after it is switched on,
please input the correct one, and will be displayed on the screen as the content during the
entry, then press the right soft key for confirmation. After unlocked, the phone will display the
signal strength.
Please contact your network provider if you do not know the PIN code.

To Power off the phone, please press and hold the key power on/off for 2 seconds and more.
When the phone displays closing prompt, the phone will switch off.
If you switch off the phone directly by taking off the battery, some information to be stored
in the RUIM card and phone may possibly get lost, which may cause you inconvenience.
Under standby state, input number directly via the keypad. In case of international number,
press 0 two times to input 00 first and then input the complete number. Then press the
key call control to make the call.
The right soft key is used for deleting the last digit of the number. Press and hold it to clear all
the entry and return to standby screen.
If you want to make a call to the fixed telephone in other cities, please input long-distance area
code.
During dialing, you can hear a ringing tone from the other party and after the call is connected,
you can see a call timer on the screen. If the call fails, possible reasons would be:

Note:
6.2.1 Making a call
Line Busy means the called party is busy or there is no available line in the network.
Rejected means this call is barred, or you have enabled call barring. Please check your
security setting.

If the called party's phone is power-off or out of service range and is unreachable, the network
system will inform you.
If the called party is in a conversation, please press the key call control and redial after a
while.
Input the other party's phone number under standby state.
Press the left and right-direction key to perform function selection. You may save this number
as new (the number is saved in the phone), combine this number (add this number to an existing
contact), save this number in the UIM card, search or pause operation.

If the dialed number is stored in the phonebook, then the name of the called party will be
displayed on the screen.
To end a call, you can press the key power on/off . After a call is ended, the call timer stops and
the text Call ended is displayed on the screen.
You may save the other party's number with phonebook, or by dialing under standby state. The
number saving procedure of the former method is described in details in communication
phonebook menu. Specific steps for saving a number by dialing under standby state are as
follows:

During a conversation, you may press the up and down-direction key to adjust the volume of
earpiece.
If you have enabled the automatic answer function and the earphone is connected with the
phone when a call is incoming, the phone will answer the call automatically after a certain
period of time if you don't reject the call.
If you have subscribed to the caller number identity service, then during the conversation caller
number will be displayed on the screen. If this number is already saved in the phonebook, then
caller's name will also be displayed on the screen.
: If you have subscribed to the following additional services, incoming call may be diverted
to the specified number automatically:
When a call is incoming, the phone will prompt you according to the incoming call prompt
mode you set.
To answer a call, press the key call control to answer the call directly.
To reject a call, press the key power on/off and the other party will hear a busy tone.
To end a conversation, press the key power on/off .

6.6 Silent start
6.7 Mic mute
When a call is incoming, Silence will be displayed at the bottom of the main screen and your
phone will prompt according to incoming call prompt mode. When ringing tone or vibration is
enabled and you press left soft key to select silence, the program will turn off the ringing tone or
vibration function to protect you against the interference of ringing tone or vibration.
When the phone is in conversation state, Mute and Menu are displayed at the bottom of the
main screen. Press the left and right-direction key to switch between these two options.
When you select Mute and press the left soft key, you will be able to turn off the mic in order
that the other party cannot hear your voice and you can still hear the other party's voice (the mic
is still on). At this time, Unmute is shown at the bottom of the screen to indicate mute function
is turned on. Select Unmute and press the left soft key again to turn off the mute function.
